Some views 👌
Yeah have to head back there again it’s been a long time since
this is a serious incline!
Yeah man! But really beautiful view. Got take your Alp there someday 👍
Interesting. My experience with Mitas E07s has been as OEM fitment on a 690. Not a fan. On road, brilliant. On dirt, ummm... what's the phrase that means the opposite of confidence inspiring? Yeah, that's what they are. 🤷 For mine, they're too road biased. OK, I slightly exaggerate, but I find the rear spins very easily - great fun, but not necessarily what's required. The front though... I really didn't like the front. With me on board, in my local conditions, it just doesn't grip. It slips and slides with little warning, even taking it easy. I don't usually replace tyres before they need it. I even wore out the infamous "deathwings" that came on my DR650 (not great, but ok if you're aware and cautious on corners). I've made an exception for the E07s. I'm sure people like them, but I'm keeping well away. My new front is so much better for my riding. I'm confident (from previous experience) my new rear will also be much better - once I fit it.
Hey there. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear your experiences with them was not so good. I guess a tire is only as good as when it reaches its capabilities and Mitas is no exception. Being is a 50/50 60/40 tire, it has its limitations. It will never be a truly off-road tire nor will be a brilliant road one. For the style of riding (mix of pavement and some light off-road ) that I do with them they’ve been a very good compromise for the past 4 years. It’s an all rounder tire! That is what makes them so good for me. All the best 👍
I ran a set of E10’s Dakar on my Africa twin. Tough to mount and my traction control came on far too much on road!
Thanks for you comment! I never run those tires. I was going to get the E09 but that tire is mostly for off-road. I would like to try the XT Plus some time. It looks to be a great tire. Again more off-road orientated then the E07.
Great info
Thanks
Good video. I had E07 (front) and E07+ Dakar on the back of my KTM 950. They were good tyres, but needed a lot of weights on the wheels to balance acceptably. When they wore out I repalced them with Conti TCK70 (front) and TCH70 Rocks (back) which were much better balanced in comparison.
Thanks mate! My front tire had to be balanced using two weights. I was not sure if the rims had an issue or not. Good to know that!
Tire choice is bike dependent. What works for one may not directly relate to another due to the weight of the bike itself.
@@ivorscruton5121 I believe the purpose of the video was to bring details to those who are looking for more specific information about the Mitas Adventure tire.
I guess your statement has something of true about it. But again like @carvalhoj said above my intention was only to explain and review the mitas tires and why they are working for me for so many years. Thanks
Can you tell me what you run for a front tyre with these tyres please ?
Sorry mate don’t follow your question. Are you asking me what bike do I run these tires on?
Mitas make an E07 front
Sorry mate now I know what you mean. I run mitas E07 or E07+ in the front. If you have a transalp 700 you have to run a E07 in the front as Mitas was not making the E07+ for that profile. Cheers
You made it clear about the 3 versions of the mitas, the best explanation I have ever watched. Thanks
Thanks mate!
Is there not 4 spark plugs on the xl700v ?
No. Xl700v has only two.
Now I saw the 4 screws you had told me. Cool😊😊😊
Haha those damn screws! 👍
That's! Perfect Adriano.
Thanks bro. Was nice to see you!

Good job 👍
Thanks mate! Much obliged 👍
Hello How much oil should be poured into the plug?
@@cooltrip_22 Hi. If you are talking about the oil capacity of each rod here is the amount: Fork oil per rod: 598 ML SAE 10W and the the level should be 104mm. Best thing to do is to add extra for oil and remove the excess leaving 104mm. Have a look at the video to see the tool that I made for this purpose. Good luck 🤞
I would..and rebuild it with the best internal components i can afford, otherwise buy the neswest touring dualsport

I had/have both. Transalp great, but I kept the AT. The rd07/07a is a war tank, keep a fuel pump and a regulator with you and go from Nordkapp to Sidney with no problems at all. And it is perfect for everyday riding also.
Its a keeper! Even though I am enjoying my DR so much every time a go on the AT it brings a smile on my face...

I made the mistake of buying this tire. Good luck changing it on the road.
@@kalpetkoff Well I can see your point. It’s not the easiest tire to replace but on the other hand it’s a great tire. This is my third one now and I really like it. I have changed all the three of them myself and after a while you get the hang of it. Now I never had to do one on the road on bad weather or freezing cold which I guess you will have a point but again in such circumstances. Any tire would be a pain in the arse to replace. 👍
@@44degreesmotorcycleadventures I'm about to install a set of these on my T7. I hope, I will not have to change a flat on the road. Thanks for the video!
@@KalPetkoffJangoz Welcome and good luck 👍
@@44degreesmotorcycleadventures I just installed my set of Mitas E07+, and I have to admit they are great tires. Much better than the Pirelli Scorpion Rally ST.
@@KalPetkoffJangoz great job
Kudos for pulling this off! I've been trying to remove the rear tyre since Sunday with no luck. Used hardware are 2 spoons from Eastbound, and for 'software' a lot of lube and soap as suggested, and no, I don't have a heated gun (but it is 34C/93F out here for compensation). With the 2 spoons I managed to break the bead and get just a few centimeters of the tyre over the rim, but as a result the tension in other parts of the tyre is now so tight I'm not even able to get the spoon underneath the edge of the tyre. I have a feeling the edge of the tyre moved to the center of the rim, also making it hard to get too. All of the soap and lube making everything slippery isn't helpful. I'm out of options......other than finding someone with the right tools :)
@@SKLSNAPS hey sorry to hear you having issues getting the tyre off the rim. It can be a really pain if the tyre is too old as the flexibility of the rubber is pretty much gone. Also it depends on the type tyre as well. Mitas E07+ enduro for example has a really tick side wall making it a really pain to remove or put it one. My suggestion is put the wheel on a piece of wood so the rotor does not touch the ground and kneel on the tyre and using your knee to put pressure on the tyre as you work your way with the levers. Don’t try to put the lever too far apart from the one that is already inside of the tyre because you won’t have much leverage to insert it. When you have the second lever in, use your knee to hold the tyre down as you remove it from the tyre. Then again insert the lever close to be next one and slide it a bit. Hope this makes sense. The main thing here is to move the lever in small amounts while holding the tyre down with your knees. Hope this can help All the best
@@SKLSNAPS just another point, star from the brake disk side. This will allow you to use the disk to put the lever under it to hold in place. 👍
@@44degreesmotorcycleadventures Thnx for the encouragement and suggestions, much appreciated! I think you're right, and I'm stupid not to think of the option the tyre (indeed a Trail Enduro +) is just worn out and has no flexibility left. I don't work with wood but use a stiff road tyre underneath so I can work my way around it. Usually when a tyre is off the bead and you put pressure on one side of the tyre, the other side lifts up to the edge of the rim. As soon as you stop the pressure the other side comes down again leaving the gap it creates between the tyre and the rim when its of the bead. To emphasise your point the tyre reached its end of life; it didn't come down and leave a gap which made me think it connected to the bead again, and I actually took the spoons and bead breaker to check, but it was still off the bead. I always take small amounts and even stood with two feet on the tyre to create extra room for the spoon to get behind the edge of the tyre, but the tyre wouldn't have it due to the lack of flexibility. As soon as I have it off the rim this whole process will repeat itself, because the new tyre is the same :).....lucky me......
@@44degreesmotorcycleadventures Always my starting point and certainly in this case with the stiff sidewalls
IMHO TA is stable nice motorcycle for first bigger motorcycle but sucks gasoline as MBT.
@@robrob9050 I got the first acronym but can figure out the last 😂 I had had others in this channels mentioning how bad the gas mileage of the TA was. On mine one I did not find that bad she did about 150, 160 miles which came close to most reviews out there which is basically 45mpg She is a heavy mama so I suppose that does not help. I guess it also depends on how one rides it . I am a 60mph kind guy so that could explain the mpg. Thanks for your comment and all the best
@@44degreesmotorcycleadventures I drive now 60 km/h like grandma going to Massoutis (Supermarket in Greece) and burning of fuel is minimal, definitely does not help if you drive fast, MBT like (Main Battle Tank) fuel burning haha
Im looking to buy a xrv750 AT But um 1.70 m and about 30" 31" inseam My worry is that i could not stop and put my feet on the ground
Hi there the best way to find out is to try it ou if you can. I don’t think it should be an issue for you if your inseam is 31. I am 5.11”/ 180cm and my inseam is 32 I can almost flat foot. Again I have set the preload of the rear shock to be a be stiffer so in your case to can always soft it a bit to get a little bit more saggy on the rear shock. The seat of the xrv is a bit wide so that would spread your leg a bit more apart so it will make if feel a bit taller. So my advise is to try it out and ask the person that you buying from if any mod has been done on the rear shock like adding preload or stiffer springs because that will make the bike taller. Good luck and hope you get one they are great bikes 👍
I'm 165cm and with a maximum of 29" inseam I believe. I own a 95 XRV750 AT and it's no problem at all. Of course scootch the butt to one side and one foot down, can't reach with both feet but its' absolutely manageable if you have a little skill. With your extra inch or two of inseam you should have no issue at all!
Next time put the tube in the new tyre and inflate a bit the push the vavle through the rim ,and push the first bead in place may need a rubber hammer . Deflate the tube and lever on the tyre . You need to raise the rim not the tyre off the ground . It needs to fallover the rim instead of being level
Thanks. After a few tyre changes now I got the hang of it. Yeah inflating it makes a lot easier plus heating up the tyre make a breeze to install. 🤘
What tool did you use to remove the bottom bolt, the one behind the bash plate.
@@lofifuzz Sorry buddy not sure which bolt you are referring to.
what rims on the AT?? Nice video and comparison.
@@camiloverland hey thanks! I have the excel stainless steel rims
Thanks a lot!
@@viktorvaaranen9154 welcome my friend!
I hate changing the Mitas you did. So hard sidewalls. But they're great tires when fitted. Good job, and when you're out in the woods, you know you can fix a puncture yourself.
@@janra8653 Yes they have. A trick that I learned through the years changing them is that if you are doing at home you can use a heated gun to warm them up. That makes fitting much easier. 👍
Thank you for the valuable information.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, What is the tightening torque for the gear lever and cover?
Hey buddy! Sorry don’t know from the top of my head but I have shared the link of my manual and you can have a look. All the best drive.google.com/file/d/1UV-71AQZelz_YDNcv_VhV9uaFaexxnjv/view?usp=drivesdk
Well done. Do you ever feel lack of power? I had a rd04, switched on ankym LC8, but it is too violent. Rd07 has more torque of rd04 I suppose. Love the sound of engine
Hey there. To be honest I don’t. It has more torque than the Transalp and been lighter it feels more agile. Of course is not as machine that you are going to be doing wheelies but it can handle well. I am at the moment travelling back from the ABR festival to Ireland, full loaded with camping gear and it is handling really well. Thanks for your comment and all the best to you
Such a great video!
Thanks!
Read the description before the 30 seconds, knew it was a DR650 before I even saw it, great bike, welcome to the vintage family. PS: I'd argue, like Fortnine showed, that Honda still makes great bikes. The Transalp 700 is a great contender for this one, if a bit expensive. Then again, NX650/XR650 exist where you guys are so there's that oldie as well. Great ride.
Hahaha I gave it away! Yeah I am enjoying this bike so much. It’s a great machine. The Transalp is a great machine but is on a complete different level All the best! Thanks!
Thank you for your sane video. Subbed!
Welcome!
I get it. I'd swap my transalp 700 for an AT XRV any time 😃it's just that around here in Austria they're unreasonably expensive. I'll keep followingy you 👍
Hey thanks. 👍
See you at ABR with my Transalp!
Hope so! All ready to go!
Hi having had both, AT looks much better but for everyday riding Transalp wins.
Transalp is a more comfortable bike specially on the pavement. But I prefer the AT as a more do all bike. For me it has a better riding position for my height and it is a more agile bike. Both bikes are great bikes to own but to me AT win for me.
ΟΜΟΡΦΑ ΚΑΙ ΤΑ ΔΥΟ .ΜΠΡΑΒΟ ΩΡΑΙΟ ΒΙΝΤΕΟ
Thanks. Great machines no doubt!
The African twin for the win..both bikes have the power capacity..but when that extra gusto is needed, the transalp will fall short every time
Yeah the AT definitely feels more powerful! 👌
Did you remove the seal springs?
Hey there. No. it was not necessary to do that. The film is very thin and it will go between l the seal and the fork. Best of luck!
very chill video I liked it 👍🏽
Thanks ! 👍
G'day, Great video, I am taking delivery of my XRV750 RD07A ( 1997) in May, I run 35 litre Givi Canyon soft bags on my GSA1250 Trophy and been on many trios around Australia with them, love apart losing one the handles that tore off.my question is I am wanting to purchase crash bars like your because they look like they protect the upper half on the body work, can let me know where you purchased them from? Many thanks
Hey there. Glad to hear that you’re getting an AT! I got the bars from heavyduties which is a company in Romania. They were very helpful on my purchase but I am not happy with the finish quality of bars. I always keep my bike in the garage dried all the time and they already have rust spots on their weld joins. I have a GIvi crash bar on my Transalp for about 7 years now and they have had not a spot of rust on them. So I am not sure how long this one will last. Regarding the protection they are really good as I dropped my bike one day and the bar took all the blunt without any damage other than a few scratches on the bar. Plus the design is good to protect the upper fairing. At the moment I have coated the bar with ACF50 rust spray which might help. Another option would be to respray it with a better protection paint. Good luck with your AT and let me know what solution you decided to go with.
Thanks heap for your swift reply, yes I would prefer nickel plating same as the BMW crash bars or black powder coated. I will keep you up with my AT
