The Music Production Game
มุมมอง 225 ปีที่แล้ว
Today, I walked around the house with a microphone, and recorded some sounds... And from these sounds I produced a mini electro music track in propellerhead Reason. There are no vocals, no synths, no instruments of any kind… Can you guess the origin of the sounds? The Kick: The Bass: The Snare: The Shaker: The Rising Woosh: The Clicking Sound: Post your suggestions in the comments. I will write...

Excellent midi tutorial as well you helped me get the thought process of this really cool controller you diffently have to program this pedal very powerful tool
Ok I know I’m 5 years late and this may be a dumb question but, why 127? I understand that’s fully on and 0 is off but why 127 what does that refer to?
Thank you so much, you have explain in detail.
Hi , i have my audio interface with midi in and out , can i connect the fcb1010 midi OUT to my aufio interface midi IN to uset in my computer or the only way is to use that cabe adaptor usb midi ?
Yeah. This is a really nice, lovely done tutorial. This piece of gear is so versatile. I am a drummer and use it to switch settings in the drum module, DAW, VST hosts, AmpliTube 5.... etc. I got the UnO chip and use a software to program it. Easy.
I have FCB1010. I don´t want to have programchange. Only snippets on our BehringerX32 mixer and this is midi channel 2 on the mixer. Can you make a simple film about this configuration. Snippets on the mixer is 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 and so on
You got it?
Thank you for this, the official FCB manual is so opaque and hard to understand, seeing someone do it helped a lot.
Thank you so much, you and this video have saved me a decade of headaches. You are a master sir. Your way of teaching is so easy to understand. Wishing you the best 🙏
Hello. What I want to ask is my audio interface (Scarlett 2i2) doesn't have a midi connection. Will I be able to use this controller if I connect it directly to my computer via a usb-midi interface while my speakers are still connected to my audio interface?
Excellent video, many thanks. However, I followed every step and Reason will only recognize pedal #1 when assigning controls. I am at a dead end here. Anyone have similar experience?
Hi. Is the pedal on this the same as an external expression pedal? As my external expression pedal works on a stereo 1/4 inch jack?
Thank you
Many thanks for this tutorial. I was already really upset with my new FCB1010 and Behringer but you saved me from sending it back to the shop. I'm using a cheap MIDI cable but will follow your choice and buy the Roland.
Best video on this. It had been so long since I set my FCB up and I needed to reprogram some presets. Thanks a TON.
Very informative THANK YOU !!!
also, what version of reason are you using in this video?
confusing and boring
Yes, indeed you are. Do better.
Great job I just received this controller as a gift and I was feeling overwhelmed by it. This video went a long way to warming me up to the idea. Thanks!
Thank you very much - this was just the right amount of detail I was looking for and you made quick sense of the menu system for me.
Wait a minute. I take that back. The bait and switch you used at the end of the video to try and entice people to subscribe to your subscription-based tutorial is bush league. Unsubscribed.
Hey bro let me know if you find out how to do the rest!...😡😡
😂😂😂
This is a fantastic tutorial. Exactly what I was looking for. Subscribed.
Thank you for doing the hard part!
Great tutorial, anyway hawing both controller, experimenting them I strongly suggest to buy the original factory one produced by Fractal. Ones you paid over 2000 euro for module don't be shy to pay 700 more for his original controller. You will not regret :)
Thank you so much for creating this. You have immediately answered all my questions in less than 1 day on this. It's also awesome to see someone else using Reason. Greets from TN!
THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! IT SEEMS TO BE THE BEST AND MOST PEDAGOGICAL TUTORIAL ON FCB1010. Much thanks Sir for the sharing.
Thanks for the video sir. Do you have any idea how to make it work with Abbleton Live 10. I just reset and configure the pedal but nothing happen, I can't midi map this pedal. I am using mac and a MIDI to USB cable.Thanks.
Beyond helpful! Thank you!
Help me out here. So basically when I hit a pedal it sends one cc message (127) and pressing again sends another (0)... When doing so, the expression pedals are also mapped to certain CC channels. That makes sense in your demo, basically you're just mapping pedals to different midi signals and those can be mapped in the DAW. but doesn't that mean that if you hit 1, 5, 6 which each do different functions (for me they'd be turning different plugins on and off) that your expression pedal also is being constantly remapped? I was thinking of using it a bit like an effects pedal. Set up a DAW chain of effects and have each pedal turn an effect on and off, allowing me to map 10 fx to the pedals. But to do so, would I have to just decide two parameters across the whole set-up to tie to the two pedals and program all the presets in that bank? It seems that the Bank/Preset configuration only relates to using it to control processors with that same config. Otherwise it's basically just 10 midi keys which can be mapped differently in every bank.
silly question: What fuse do you have in the power lead? I've got one off ebay with no cable, so I've bought the correct IEC cable, and I know it's fused with 0.5amp fuse in the device it's self, but i'll need a fuse in plug?
Actual legend! Thank you! :)
Excellent. I had to recalibrate my expression pedals to get the proper min and max values before programming.
This is extremely useful. Thank you very much. 👍
Hello, are you sure that the FCB1010 toggles between the two CC values each time you activate the switch, as you described at 08:25? I had thought it would send both CC messages at the same time (which of course wouldn't be useful if it was the same CC#), rather than toggling between them.
Nevermind I checked the manual and it is as you said. Interesting! Thanks for the great vid.
Wow! Such a great video I’ve had my FCB for around a year and had no idea how to program it, this has been the best explanation I’ve found👍👍thank you!
Omg, thank you for this video so much. Manual and interface are so unfriendly for a newcomer on that device, that I was one inch close to just throwing away all the electronics from my fcb1010 and replacing it with my own electronics and firmware just to deal with something I can understand better than a behringer's manual. Now after your video everything looks so simple.
This Gold!
I feel your pain brother! hehehe You found a very very good alternative to make it work. Thanks to dedicate such a long time to structure this golden content. Cheers.
Thank you! Amazing tips!
Can you assign to record other tracks? like create new independent track or skip to another track after loop? Thx. Great vid bty! Please add ym channel! thx.
A great tutorial. Thanks for doing this.
this video was amazing. a tremendous help. thank you so much!!!!!
thank you Chris, I am glad it helped you understand a bridge between NI and Props!
“The missing FCB1010 manual” ! This video made things a lot clearer to me than the official manual, e.g. what ‘controllers’ are. Thanks for making this video available !
Hi, I`m struggling to set this up for KONTAKT and make it change instrument by using FCB1010. Will You help? BTW watched DOZENS of videos and they were simple WASTE of time.. not this one.
I never tried to control changing patches of a Kontakt instrument with the FCB1010, not even with my controller (apart from Komplete Kontrol which I dislike). I would first see if you can control the change of patches from your go-to controller. Then if this works, it should be possible also from the foot controller. Good luck!
I have watched a few different videos. I've read both the original Beringer manual as well as one specific to the UnO firmware chip (that I added). Every time I thought I had it figured out, it didn't work. I came across your tutorial and skipped it due to the length. I wish I'd have watched it much sooner. I finally have this thing up and running. I can't thank you enough!
finally a complete tutorial. Tyvm
The depth of this tutorial is mind boggling. Thank you for creating this sir, you've made life drastically easier for me!
I found the answer on FB... :)
haha, Answer version for YT coming soon :-)
only just started watching so sorry if this is covered later in the video (will watch the rest later) but couldn't you have used the midi port on komplete kontrol or one of the pad controllers if they have midi?
Hey Joe, of course, and I did this in the past... My initial problem lies into getting my hands off the guitar which makes me sometimes lose the feel... I have feet, so why not use them! Another thing, is that I have to record the guitar about 1 meter away from my setup... or the take can become a little noisy... (I have no grounded plugs around my home studio :-( ), so for that, I needed a controller I could move around easily... something already on the floor is ideal for that!
Music Production Made Easy hi sorry i might not have been clear - i mean rather than buy the roland midi interface couldn’t you have plugged the pedal board into (for example) the midi input on the komplete kontrol?
@@joekaye9006 Hi Joe, I didn't think about that. good idea... But thinking further about it, I do not think it would have worked: there is no MIDI THRU on the Komplete Kontrol... (Although maybe there is a way to re-channel a specific MIDI signal to the OUT by software ???).
Music Production Made Easy I could be wrong but i believe if the kontrol is connected by USB you can select it’s MIDI in as an input to your DAW - it should appear as a MIDI interface (with 1 in and 1 out)
@@joekaye9006 I didn't know the Komplete Kontrol could act as an external MIDI interface (a part for itself I mean). That's excellent to know, thanks Joe!
What if I want the red light to stay on the switches? Like if I have distortion, delay etc. so I know what pedal is on so I don’t have to look at the computer.
Could one select different versions of the rex files from the fcb like for example the top row of buttons for alternate loops? Trying to setup groove intro, vs, ch and outro variations as a accompaniment to my solo show
Sure, I do not see why you couldn't do that: every button in Reason that can be controlled by MIDI can be controlled by the FCB. Look on the video how I turn on / off a button with the FCB, and apply this to the Octorex buttons selecting the loops. You could even assign the wahwah pedals to a filter cut off for some live effects on these loops during on your show.
I think without that video I would have been lost, now I understood the fcb1010 and Midi, many thanks!
Always glad to help fellow musicians :-)!
