ESO: Starting your Adventure Character Creation & Settings
มุมมอง 853 หลายเดือนก่อน
New to the game, Returning player, or a Veteran Vestige. This is the 1st entry to a mini-series to set you up for success as you embark on your own journey in The Elder Scrolls Online. Starting at Character Creation and diving right into the UI/Settings/Option menu, so that you understand each tabs individual sliders and their affect on your gameplay; accompanied by my own choices and insights....
I run Heartland Conqueror with New Moon Acolyte. The best combo I've ever used. DPS went flying after I started using this. For PvP, I go with NMA and DV, and I win 95% of the fight.🔥
Very helpful. Thank you
Everyone sleeps on IMO a top 5 crafted set for PvP and PvE, Coldharbor Favorite. If you are good with cooldowns and your spammable doesn’t heal as well…it’s S tier. Huge heals or damage every 10 seconds.
I "sleep" on this one personally because I have experienced a few times that a healer's 1 dot, or their heavy attack can trigger the dmg version of the set rather than the heal. There are numerous other healing sets that just wouldn't fit in the timeframe I'd selected for what is, yes my opinion, but also what is more frequently requested or generally a better option. Cheers though because I will recognize the 'potential' of a set as I think everyone should!
Hi, thank you for going through some of the recommended sets. This really helps me feel less overwhelmed.
I was hoping this would clear up any confusion and is a starting point or base for most players! Glad it helped :)
Is there anyway to get Dragon Bones (for Pack Leader's Bone Broth) if you don't have access to the "Fang Lair" Dungeon?
You would need to find them on a Guild trader or from another player that has access to them.
Great video! Just subscribed and congrats on 100 subs.
Great and much needed video! I keep a set of 10/20/30/40/CP160 Adept Rider set for leveling/questing alts and for map clear/chesting/harvesting for my 50+s
Liked it very much. Your video gave me some ideas about creating sets for my characters. ESO is a huge game and has a lot of options, videos that bring the knowledge clarified are priceless.
Extremely informative video! I really appreciate the effort you've put into covering every detail. Keep up the fantastic work and continue making such valuable content! PS: Glock40
Much appreciated & glad it was helpful!
Been having trouble with Stamina recovery. I'll be trying that potion at the end
I think you should of mentioned New Moon’s Acolyte also. It’s a 9 trait set but still very powerful for all the weapon damage crit and pen it gives.
@12:05, I covered NMA as its one of my favorite sets for DPS/DD roles (especially for leveling purposes) :)
Torugs goes really well with heartland conquerer for tanking. Especially with a pug group as with minor, major breach, tremorscale monster set and infused ice staff with crusher enchant your already at 14 to 15k+ penetration leaving dps to stack damage and crit more. Its overkill for a competent groups but most pug groups are far from good.
Torugs does! Idk so much about Heartland as its pair, as I would prefer to personally run it with Fortified Brass for early tanking. I wasn't quite considering pairing setups, but do intend to cover roles at a future date. Thanks though for providing this example and letting others know; I'll keep it in mind when that time comes.
Great video, thank you! 🎉❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Finally a video clear, concrete and WELL EDITED about "must be use" sets and why they work.
I really tried to get it to flow well, and ended up with an alphabetical order. I intend to release something later to cover individual roles. I really appreciate the support and will keep em coming. Just looking for the hole in ZoS's scheduling to make it work XD
Good vid bro its diff i subd because of that keep them coming
Will do. Just trying to find the time can be difficult with ZoS pushing these events lol
@@Courier66Six haha ikr seems like thats all we have been doin here lately
Hey matey Thank you for the video :)
Anything that seems helpful or is good for the community's library :)
This has helped me out alot thanks
Of course! Plan to do a breakdown for roles in the future, so that they know what to aim for as far as the crafted gear sets go.
Another very informative video thanks for your help
Glad to help
I don't think it was mentioned in the video, but it might be worth noting for new players that you can only have a food OR a drink buff active at a time. You can't have a meal and slam a drink and get both buffs; you only get to pick one to be active at a time.
This is true and I forgot to make mention of this; really didn't think about it to be honest. However, on the same note let's mention that Psijic Ambrosia drinks are a caveat to this rule and can be used with a current food or drink buff. You made a good point and that was a complete oversight on my part. So thank you!
@@Courier66Six Happy to help! It was definitely on my mind because I made that mistake early on, and back before I toggled on the option to see what buffs I had going, so I couldn't tell they weren't both active... It was a whole thing 🥴
Great video
Relatively what you were looking for? Your previous comments helped push this one up my list of what I wanted to cover.. I hope it was insightful or helpful in some way :)
@@Courier66Six anything to help
Suggestion for a new video. Go over some crafted recipes for potions/posion, food/drink. All the guides pretty much suggest 1-2 foods and the same potion.
So a top recipes/food & useful pots guide.. Sounds like a good idea and something I can pull off, albeit it could be subjective because covering 1 from ea/ and opinions could differ; so fair warning. Thanks!
I think crafting sets need to highlighted more. I hear a lot of people complaining about "grinding sets" or "transmute Meta".. I just say pair an overland set with a crafting set. You can do 99.5% of the game with Hexo and order's wrath. I have also suggested players to play the IA and pair one of the sets with a crafted set
I believe in the old progression system that One Tamriel got rid of unfortunately. Now we're in a period where its become ingrained that as soon as someone starts the game they MUST rush to CP... Definitely IMO, crafted sets are still viable and fill the gap for players and can still be useful and enjoyable for lower end content and even PvP.
@@Courier66Six it is a horizontal progression MMO, but most players still have the vertical progression mind set
@@Courier66Six One example is Macabre Vintage, we are running that set paired with another trial or dlc sets, to run normal and vet dungeons and some vet trials, the 5th effect destroy the mobs literally and IT IS A GOLD ROAD OVERLAND SET very ez to get. It is the must be set for farming and/or solo runs just right now, for the final boss you just adjust your build.
Great video!
Not really worth it for casual player and I have more than 1k hours in steam I never touched the eso plus option mainly you can just wait for the free trial every year I almost finished all the dlc quests just missing deadlands. Its the fomo motivated this people to eso plus not really the storage
I can get that; they got me hooked by the craft bag and the thought process of cheaper crowns on a monthly basis. But as I've told others, what you're saying too; it isn't a(n) "essential" thing but does make a difference in QoL and some aspects of gameplay easier.
No. The answer is no.
To each their own :)
Not until they negate ball groups and heal stacking in PvP and focus some massive love for PvP. Anything else is fully funded and available on PvE. PvE gets plenty of support where PvP has never been touched or progressed outside of gear effects.
Unfortunately while this is the truth, we will be getting some love for PvP beginning with U44. So something to consider. Yes, PvP has been left in the out in the proverbial cold... hoping for good things and a string of support and changes to it in the future (also, a datamined update to Cyro was found; not really gonna discuss it, but you're sure to find it if you look for it online).
@@Courier66Six oh look…they have the PvP community so beat down that any bandaid they push out is so very appreciated that acceptance is automatically assured. Appreciation is so very high for even the smallest amount of love that it is gulped down whole. Meanwhile ball groups continue harassing other players in droves…turning every single set that was supposed to assist the fight against heal stacking monkeys against the player base. Seriously…these individual players in a ball group could never compete on their own…and as failed PvE raiders they choose to coordinate heal stacking to farm AP and harass other PvP players who are there for fun. There is nothing fun about dying over and over trying to defend a keep along with 40+ players against 12 man ball group that is unkillable. They don’t even want the keep…they just farm the walls or inner keep with no care of flipping the flag… just harass other players for a couple points. The lowest class of individual…exploiting game mechanics to harass others.
It’s definitely worth it but only because the game is artificially made worse to boost the value of the subscription. It sucks but if u want to play the game and have it not be super annoying then you’re going to want to have eso plus…
I do believe the game is still playable and even enjoyable without 'plus'. You just can't play it like some people did/do in skyrim & take everything that isn't nailed down. There are shortcuts, workarounds, loopholes and other routes that can be taken in order to enjoy the game without some of what is offered by 'plus'. *I'm assuming this is reference to craft bag and dlc offer?
@@Courier66Six I reject that, the inventory and loot system is specifically engineered to have bloat that creates friction to coherence the player into buying eso plus. It’s an artificial form of value, I’ll eat the shit (because I enjoy the game) but don’t try to tell me that it’s candy.
I'm only giving it from what I am told, hear and what I myself have experienced. You have to consider that for quite some time that there was no such thing as a craft bag, and those of us playing at the time made do. I still know people, and 'know of' more, that still utilize the old methods in which to do so. Not attempting to misrepresent or obscure that the craft bag is a LARGE QoL upgrade here. I will concur that the inventory is by design cumbersome. As you stated though, it does improve the sale of ESO+, as well as the assortment of Assistants.
Rich said on live stream that it's not possible to play the game without the craft bag. They created a problem and sold you the solution
We didn't have the craft bag for years and managed just fine. It's kind of a lazy way of thinking that it would be impossible to play the game without it.. is there a hinderance without it? To the people that have now experienced it, YES! This is where a P2W mentality is established from something that is only beneficial but doesn't actually alter or offer a(n) tangible "unfair" advantage. So, I would beg to differ with that mindset and opinion (albeit we're all free to our own line of thinking & expression) but do recognize its benefit and the desire one would have in obtaining and retaining it (I do!).
I guess it's very dependent ony our playstyle. If you're into housing then ESO+ is probalby kind of mandatory, but for anything else I don't see too much benefit. I bought all of the DLCs with gold and use my bank as crafting bag. Don't have anything else to put there anyway.
No
Is it even a question with crafting bag being locked behind it? Yes you can stuff all your crafting mats into your bag but that becomes cumbersome with alts very fast. Alternatively you can be very specific at what you use and thus keep or have a mule just for that but logging in and out with mule ans stashing and withdrawing mats is more annoying than it sounds. If you want to just play, have alts and do not constantly micro manage your inventory and bank it is a must.
I agree, I used to share a guild bank with others, and have alts to mule all the extra. I'm behind this line of reasoning!
With the upcoming mental ill companions I won't be playing ESO any longer. I mean why did they need to announce it and not just put the character in the game for people to discover via the story? Why does anyone need to know that the character is non-binary? Again "Hey guys, look at what we did. We're so inclusive"
the reason is called ESG score. Large companies like Zenimax are chasing this because their CEOs are still mentally stuck in 2016 and think that having 100 kilowatt solar system on top of the server room that needs 1 megawatt every day, wearing rainbow pins in June and having DEI department somehow bring them more customers (+ it automatically gives them good press... because they think people still care about what Kotaku or IGN says). They issue quotas to lower execs to meet and for someone running MMO, the easiest, cheapest and least trouble-causing option is to introduce an NPC that player do not have to interact with at all if they choose so. Don't worry, this shit will go away eventually. Bud Light and Concord ESG/DEI fiascos are already making shock-waves and even the most out of touch board member will sooner or later wake up (or go bust like Firewalk)
Very informative! Let me just say, as someone that doesn't always have Plus, but is an avid housing builder.... Plus IS worth it. When I sub or during a free to play ( Plus ) week, I have a flurry of activity going on. I'm finishing houses ( atm I have 5 that are 1/2 build ) leveling up Antiquities and Jewelry on my 2nd account, doing dungeons on both accounts and finishing up DLC zones on my 2nd account. I won't sub on both at the same time, but when I have a lot of spare time and the funds at the same time, I do sub consistently, but it might be my main account for 2 months and then my 2nd account for a month.
It doesn't help that we aren't particularly privy to every "free" week/weekend that they're going to run either. Its value is there for those that play the game and choose to use the service, but it sounds like you've got a system worked out!
@@Courier66Six Kinda sorta I do have a system worked out. 2 of the Free to Plays are easy to predict. Usually the 2nd one of the year, comes when the new DLC is launched, with Consoles, So on PC I generally have 2 weeks knowing it's coming. The 4th depending on if they do 4.. is right around New Life Fiestival. The other two can be a bit unpredictable because they may or may not do 4.
Tip, if you don't have a Guild Hall with everything or ESO+. Find a house that does in Activity - Housing Tours and save it to your favorites.
What's this for?
Great overview. Are you going to do anything like advanced crafting?
Possibly exploring diving into skill lines a bit more, further down the line in some videos. As of right now though the basics are a terrific starting point for most players that wouldn't understand the system or the reason for it. Meeting a lot of players that truly don't know just how much time some of these things can take. As for "advanced crafting", what is your take or description of that, so I might be able to cover it when the time comes?
I'm so glad I found this! I have spent so much gold moving around. Thank you!
nice bro
Workin' at it! Thanks
I wish I learned about travel to player a lot sooner than I did. Sometimes you are so far away as a new player from a way shrine, and it takes forever to run there. Travel to player, then you can use that way shrine to travel anywhere you wanted to originally for free. I used to just spend the gold to travel to a way shrine because I didn't want to spend the 15 seconds.
Great series! I've been playing this game a while, and still learned a few things watching this series. You really hit on a lot of the main points that will help a new player.
Great tip about gathering all the gear you can from the start, especially the armory and filling out your armor slots to open those skill lines as well. The earlier you can open those skill lines, the easier it is to get them all maxed out by the time you hit CP level! Great video and insight.
Well, when the game sends you in the opposite direction... Definitely break the "follow the tutorial" mindset and go in there. Lots of little secrets & loads more exploration to be doing in the game than really ever is.
Very nicely done! I had planned on doing something similar, but I always look for good early video's to recommend to new players. I think you did a wonderful job of getting the most important things in.
I'm glad that it was helpful. That's my goal here :) thank you
Great video! Super helpful tips on setup and how to optimize your gameplay! Excited to see more videos
Thanks, definitely intend for more to come!
Good start to the mini-series. I actually enjoy controversy, I keep auto loot stolen items on, and prevent attacking innocents off. It boosts my ego to fend off a guard.
