    I think it's a different experience when you're older, and it's so amazing to share those experiences with our families!

  • @redandthewolfphotography
    @redandthewolfphotography 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I had the exact same experience about 2 years ago when I tried to plan this super cool shoot at the Redwoods in Rotorua, NZ, and the whole thing went sideways! I'd booked the Air bnb for the wrong days, so we got there a day early. So we stayed at a motel for the night. Then when we went to the air bnb the next day, we found out it was missing locks on some of the windows, and still stunk of paint from being renovated... then NONE of my shots came out as I'd thought they would. I'd even planned many of them in advance! I just didn't have the eye (or the equipment at that point) for the level of photographs I was looking for. I realise now that my concepts were so much bigger than I - even now - could accomplish I think. It's proof that there is always SO much more to learn... but man, I was feeling super sorry for myself. And guilty that I'd dragged the whole family along, AND that we'd wasted money doing it and I still didn't get what I was after... So I TOTALLY get that feeling of failure.

    • @craigpiferphotography
      @craigpiferphotography 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I imagine that if we were to talk about our fails, it would take a very long time to get through them all. They are all learning experiences, or should be. I still feel like a beginner quite often, despite starting out with 35mm SLRs back in the 80's.

    What great footage you got there Craig. Some amazing shots in there too. Those cherries look so big in the video, I’m surprised they can eat them. It’s funny how similar our backyards are. We also have a cherry tree, but it’s much bigger and the cherries are smaller.

      So many varieties of cherries out there. The birds typically disappear before the cherries are ripe and seem to want them while still green/yellow. Thanks for watching.

      For the images in the video they were shot on the 40D, but any SLR or mirrorless with a bulb mode will work. These were actually shot with the camera on a large rock, but I usually use a mid range Bogen/Manfrotto tripod.
