The New Forest is a breathtakingly beautiful place that offers a unique experience to anyone who visits it. One of the best ways to fully appreciate the natural beauty of this area is by taking a walk through its winding paths and trails.
As you start walking through the New Forest, you'll immediately notice the stunning natural scenery that surrounds you. The forest is home to a wide variety of trees, including oak, beech, and birch, which create a beautiful canopy overhead. The forest floor is also covered in a thick layer of moss and ferns, giving the area a lush, green feel.
The New Forest is also home to a diverse range of wildlife. You might spot deer, ponies, rabbits, and even the elusive New Forest adder as you walk along the trails. The birdsong in the forest is also a delight to listen to, and you may hear the call of a woodpecker or the haunting hoot of an owl.
Walking in the New Forest also allows you to experience its history and heritage. You'll come across ancient trees, some of which are over 1,000 years old, as well as Iron Age forts and Roman ruins. The forest has been shaped by human activity for thousands of years, and its unique cultural heritage is something that can be appreciated as you walk through it.
Finally, walking in the New Forest is a great way to clear your mind and reduce stress. The peaceful surroundings and fresh air can help you feel more relaxed and rejuvenated. The forest is also a great place to practice mindfulness, with its serene atmosphere and natural beauty providing the perfect backdrop for meditation and reflection.
In conclusion, walking in the New Forest is a truly beautiful and rewarding experience. From its stunning natural scenery and diverse wildlife to its rich cultural heritage and relaxing atmosphere, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Tx Billy. Only 3 years ago but seems much longer :)
Thanls for watching this recap of some of the things that went on in The New Forest in 2021. Here's a link to 2022: th-cam.com/video/kur9vhUvTso/w-d-xo.html
Just found one in Surrey, in the road outside my house. I released it in some woodland behind my house.
Funnily enough, my wife saw one yesterday. It is the time of year when the caterpillars try to find somewhere to spend the winter, so they move around and are more likely to be seen. I'm pleased the video was of interest! Thanks for watching and best wishes, Rob
It's a joy to see so many animals there, I learned and remembered from your previous video that the pig helps to eat the acorn, so there will be less for the donkeys to eat, otherwise it will upset their stomach. Thanks a lot!
Yes, the pigs eat the acorns to stop the other animals eating too many of them and becoming ill. The pigs were let out onto the forest last Monday, as the acorns have started to fall from the oak trees. I will make another video of the pigs when I see some of them. Best wishes, Rob
Plenty of grasses means abundant food for the horses. You found lots of beautiful dragonflies. Thank you for this New Forest diary video . Have a good one!
Hello Won, I'm pleased you enjoyed the diary update. Tx for watching and best wishes, Rob

Thanks very much for watching - you've go to love a donkey, haven't you! Best wishes, Rob
Lovely views and information about these beautiful donkeys. They seem so gentle (as long as you don't get close) and those ears are pretty sweet. Best regards, Cathy
Hi Cathy. You've got to love a donkey! Especially ones with big ears like that :) The pigs will let out later this month to eat the acorns. Tx for watching and all the best, Rob
Very beautiful Rob👍there are a lot of animals in the New Forest. The donkeys are so cute, and their ears are amazing Interesting to hear that pigs are there to eat to most of the acrons so that the donkeys wont get ill. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend. Greetings Agnes
Hi Agnes. You've got to love a donkey! Especially ones with big ears like that :) The pigs will let out later this month to eat the acorns. Tx for watching and all the best, Rob

Such a wonderful presentation with beautiful and high quality views! Thank you my dear friend for that healing moment in the nature. The oak bracket is very interesting and fascinating! It's funny, I was able to film (low quality though lol) and insert in my last post a red admiral I saw this summer, it was trapped in my friend's gazebo. Mojo is adorable! Have a lovely rest of the week, see you soon again, stay safe !🙏🙏🤩💚

Hello Rob 👋 wonderful scenic drive! Seeing the ponies and donkeys is nice! Full watch 😊
Thanks Princess. I think I had my gopro (on the car bonnet) pointed slightly too high towards the sky. It made the sky look wonderful but you couldn't see the real colour of the purple heather. It was a lovely drive anyway :) Best wishes, Rob
Cute Mojo :)
Thanks Agnes, I'm pleased you found it interesting. Mojo is doing well! Tx for watching and all the best, Rob
Nice tour Rob👍, amazing to see the horses on the road, beautiful purple heather and green ferns. Have a nice Sunday. Greetings Agnes
Thanks Agnes. I think I had my gopro (on the car bonnet) pointed slightly too high towards the sky. It made the sky look wonderful but you couldn't see the real colour of the purple heather. It was a lovely drive anyway :) Best wishes, Rob
I wonder how much of our taxes it cost to make the long single-track section of the road - it never used to be like that, and was fine as it was - albeit narrow, (like many other New Forest roads).
I don't know why that particular piece of road has been singled out. Perhaps too many people were parking on the verge.
So not really Fritham then, more like from Roger Penny Way, towards Fritham, and onwards to. …
You've got me Alan :) I was planning to start at the Royal Oak but when I met the ponies in the road I decided to keep them in the video. I should have called it 'Fritham area', I suppose. Tx for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated.
It is such a beautiful region, I really like the virtual journey 😊 👍 Warm greetings!
Thanks Anita. The heather looks lovely at this time of year but it's always a reminder that autumn is just around the corner ... Best wishes, Rob
Hi Rob nice to see the ponies. A beautiful drive about.
Thanks Brenda. The heather looks lovely at this time of year but it's always a reminder that autumn is just around the corner ... Best wishes, Rob
nice virtual tour my friend *🥸Au💯full watch always👀👍like👍*
Thanks Billy. The heather looks lovely at this time of year but it's always a reminder that autumn is just around the corner ... Best wishes, Rob
I see the sky is still big out there !! ..wonderful !!
Yes, I thought that too when I saw the vid. I probably had the gopro pointed slightly too much towards the sky - it was on the bonnet of my car. The sky looked almost cinematic! All the best, Rob
