Why is everyone doing a farming game, there were like 2-3 of those in this Direct.

I'm more pointing out that the Switch is really showing its age. It seems that 3rd party companies are restricted by the Switch hardware and are either unable to optimize their games or are putting their efforts into Switch 2.

I understand that, but again I feel that the “limitations” of the hardware can work in a game’s favour; simple graphics can add charm and more color and ‘life’ to a game that a game with “enhanced graphics” lacks. I can’t speak to how game developers can work on optimizing games on Switch hardware, ‘tis true; but I believe that limitations can breed creativity and sometimes certain changes to gameplay, graphics, and such can work in its favor. However, I come from a position where “graphics” don’t bother me with games; it’s the game that I’m focused on more so at all times.

@superkittymikel I agree, I feel like limitations can breed innovation, but it feels like a lot of these games aren't going for a unique artstyle within the Switch's limitations, it feels like they are trying to put their game on the Switch because there is a huge install base (140+ million units sold) and they have to downgrade their game to work on Switch.

I agree! I thought I might have had plenty of nostalgia for it, but it turns out the game's mechanics and writing are really well done. It's the kind of game that you can fall in love with again.

I like it enough to give it my hype. I think the original Paper Mario is really great, but I love what TTYD has to offer and I think it's a game worth sharing.

That's your opinion. People are allowed to like TTYD more and hype it up if they want.

@Miccat87 At the end of the day, it definitely is a matter of preference, just seems like most people want more of what TTYD has to offer. We need a real Paper Mario 3

I absolutely love them both and could replay both many, many times. But TTYD offers more to do.

I agree that Nintendo could have released these games on NSO, they might have some issues with Gamecube titles, as it was the only console to not have its games on the Wii-U digitally. That being said, I think they're trying to determine if people want more Mario RPGs, since they also remade Super Mario RPG.

A new RPG for Mario is fine, the problem for me is that they put all of this time and effort into remaking classic and beloved games when they could be doing so for said "new" RPG's. There is definitely a niche and fanbase for it, and they are most certainly aware of that.

@superkittymikel Yeah, the reason that we're seeing a lot of remakes/low budget games right now is that Nintendo is getting prepped for whatever console is next. Remakes are easier to make and some games genuinely could use a good remake.

Where is my Super Mario 64 Remake then? Where is the Super Mario World Remake? WHERE TF IS MY ZELDA II: ADVENTURE OF LINK REMAKE?!?1! I get that they make remakes to pass the time it takes to get the "new" console ready and games made for that specifically; however I just don't care to be or feel invested in getting consoles anymore man. Call Mii an oldhead or whatever, but the Switch is literally a gift, it's great and works and I can take it literally anywhere I go! (something the "Switch 2" better do too). What saddens me is that the Switch can be improved upon instead of just tossed out for a "newer" console when it inevitably comes out. But these are just the ramblings of an old gamer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@superkittymikel Super Mario 64 got a DS remake and Super Mario World just gets ported over a bunch, it doesn't really need it since it has tight controls and still looks good.

Yeah, I can't imagine they have anything huge for us, except the potential holiday title. I'm sure we'll get more info in like November/December.

LOL it's TOO late, we are now entering Switch 2 era.

It does seem like it was just months ago that I was unpacking the console to play Breath of the Wild. There's been so much to play that I've forgotten what I have.

@@itzamiiiii I still remember taking the switch out of the box for the first time. The first time holding a new console is always so special.

Its tough to decide when both games are genuinely amazing, but I had to give it up to Wonder for being a new game and a return to form for the 2D Mario series.

Oh yeah, for sure. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe added the DLC characters and maps from the WiiU version, so I have no doubt all the DLC would be in the base game by that point

Honestly same. It feels like it would be easy to just port the game onto the new console.

It got really close, but at this point what we have is awesome. I'm hoping that the next Mario Kart has cooler mechanics than zero gravity

@@itzamiiiii Can't they still give a new surprise announcement for it? I'm sure if these tracks made it in the dlc would get a lot more sales. Pretty sure they said we'd only get 6 new characters, I think there's still hope. To be clear I still think most likely it won't happen

@Wargames688 weirdly enough, they never made any announcements for new characters, costumes, etc, just new courses. I think we're lucky that we got anything besides courses. And whi knows, but it really does feel like we're done with DLC.

Duuuude, I want Wario Coloseum with zero-gravity on it, it would be so cool!

I got the picture off of Twitter! It would be nice to get some of the tracks from the Arcade games (Especially Diamond City) and having Pacman would be awesome!

@@itzamiiiii I take it ya played those games. I just know about Pac-Labyrinth from a video long ago I don't know if the tracks was fun to race on.

@chrisperry5062 yeah! There are some arcades in my area with the Mario Kart arcade games, so.i play them occasionally. They're very cool thematically, but I'm unsure if they're as wild as actual Mario Kart tracks

I did see him in the new trailer, he might not be deconfirmed just yet, after all, he doesn't show up in this first trailer. Might be copium though.

It's great to see their ads on Twitter, it makes the experience surrounding the games much better and I get a good laugh out of them. I really do appreciate the effort.
