40 years. And I never listened to the Carpenters. A while ago some dudess played this tune on spotify and it was like I was hit by a truck. I was young in the 90s and my taste for music progressed from teen - shitty to "eerie". I was called out weird, because I listen to Broadcast and Stereolab. I think your music was an inspiration for this wonderful bands, and will be an inpsiration for countless bands to come. Thank you Mr. Carpenter. Thank you Karen. I love you.

If I’m not mistaken this is one of the tapes that landed on Herb’s desk. I love these early demos especially because I really love to hear to progression of the Carpenters’ sound.

Hi Richard. This is probably my favorite 5/4 tune of all time. It sounds like the 1969 album version was used for the video. On the album is it just yourself on the Wurlitzer and Karen on the drums with a bunch of multi tracked vocal layers of you two? I can’t really hear any other instruments. In any event, brilliant. I miss you both very much. Bless your hearts.

Funny, on this Mother's Day a countdown to what you and your sisters top songs were. I have heard of the Carpenters and heard a lot of the music. I didn't know anything about the 2 of you until today. I am one if those people who likes a song but usually can't tell you who sings it or knows the names of groups. I was born in 64...December. I have listened to 3 different stories of your lives. You are extremely talented and your sister had an amazing voice too. You were both great together and you both looked alike. I am sorry for your loss of your sister when she was so young, too young. I certainly hope that you have had a great deal if joy in your life. Have you ever married? Had any children? What do you do now? In 2021...

Richard, I was always a fan of you and your sister! I loved Karen's voice and so want to sound like her whenever I sang, your songs were wonderful and you are such a talented pianist still. Karen is so missed by her fans and I can imagine how she is missed by you everyday. God bless you and I know Karen is in God's heavenly choir and doing what she loved, singing.

Thank You Richard for all the arranging you done to bring the best out your sisters beautiful voice. I love music. A old retired dj. But still to this day Karen's voice is still the best I ever heard . Auto tune which most artist use today can not hold a handle to the pureness and passion in Karen's voice. The 1971 BBC concert is amazing by the way. Thanks again for all you done .
