Jin Story Mode - FULL Play Through (Hard Difficulty)
Ding Feng and Lianshi have quite a Dynamic, they are the last of the officers who served Sun Quan from the beginning and now they live while everyone they fought with all passes away, even Sun Quan himself. I hope Wu gets more playable Officers in this time of the story or at least Unique NPCs to face.
So fun fact if I recall Correctly Lian Shi actually died before the battle of Dongxing but the creators decided to keep the character around oh and same with Yue Ying
Interesting! It is cool that they decided to make them more part of the story, gives us more time to learn about them
While there was two Zhou Tai's, at least they were in two different forces. The two Ding Feng however, brothers both fought with Wu. Edit: HOLD UP! This man just sees dead people?!
Oh yeah. Zhuge Ke was assassinated shortly after this battle. That's why you only saw him one of twice in Jin's story.
If the assassination was by his own people, can't say as I blame them XD
@ShangSeGames lmao yeah. They didn't like Zhuge Ke that much either
Ding Feng is definitely a deeply layered character. There's a sense of tragedy that he embodies, being one of the last few veteran officers of Wu to last so long. I believe lived all the way up to his 80s. Which was very impressive for the times. Because we have the context from the main story that Wu ultimately loses the war in the end, it further elevates his struggles of supporting a land and force that inevitably loses in the end. Yet despite that, he's shown to fight with all his conviction and love for both Wu and it's people. Him and Lianshi make a great duo. The man who has a heart of gold for his people, and the maternal woman who supported their leader as his lover. I always liked how Koei decided to keep Lianshi around for the rest of Wu's battles. Since historically speaking, she passed away long before Sun Quan did. Even before she was unanimously named Empress. Which Sun Quan regretted not giving her the title in her lifetime. So, you questioned who gave Zhuge Ke authority over Wu, and unfortunately you guessed correctly in saying it was Sun Quan. Although it's a lot more complicated than that. It has to do with what happened in Wu after the events of it's story mode in this game. These events are never fully covered in any of the games. Although both DW7 & 8 do allude to how terrible Wu has become through Jin's storyline (from Sima Shi's distaste for Sun Jun, to Sima Zhao's disgust towards Sun Chen). I'm pretty confident in saying Koei will probably never touch upon these events with full context. There's a lot that happens. From Sun Quan's descent into pseudo madness, to multiple political rebellions and even a government coup manipulated by none other than Sun Quan & Lianshi's daughter, Sun Luban. Who's considered to be one of the most devious women of the times. I would go into detail about Wu's history like my other previous comments about characters, but I feel like I would do a disservice with the character limits TH-cam has. So instead, I will recommend looking up a certain article documenting this information. Written by a proclaimed history buff who checked many official sources of Three Kingdoms literature. I'll send a second comment with a link to said article if you're interested in reading about it. It's a fun read, if a bit disheartening. If the link doesn't go through, you can find the Tumblr article by Googling "The Crown Prince Affair Three Kingdoms" by archlich.
Yeah, Wu was such a mess the moment Sun Quan went old and started to ignore most genuinely good advice. And Wu post-Sun Quan was even worse with so many political upheals and backstabbing between families. It was kinda ironic, in a way.
@@sertiana2512 Ironic is the best way to describe Wu's downfall indeed. A kingdom based around community and family would of course be the one to be ultimately disassembled by family itself. Which when you you really think about it, each Kingdom is eventually taken down with a perverse outcome of their ideals. Shu for it's loyalty to a dying regime, and Wei & Jin for a similar emphasis on filial piety. (Also, nice Izlude pfp. Tactics fan spotted lol)
Shu was already a "lost cause" the moment they lost Jing province, Liu Bei made everything worse by going against Wu (and lost) at Yiling. ROTK somehow exaggerated their accomplishments and downplay their major losses as "the heaven didn't favor them" lmao (Also yeah, I enjoy playing some Tactics)
Wow, that is so much. I like to think of Wu as the family force, but, wow, that gets rough. We can unite around Ding Feng and Lianshi carrying the banner ... kinda glad it seems to end there in DW, it would be really painful to watch the slow decay.
It's easy to see why pre-DW7 game's storylines usually stop around the WuZhang Plains. Because at that point, the war was already decided. Everything beyond that point can be summarized as the cleanup of a long era of war. The chances of wither Shu or Wu coming out on top was mostly nonexistent. It's why in most what-if scenarios, Koei usually changes early events to give either Shu or Wu a much better fighting chance. Such as the battle of Chibi, or Hefei.
I like Ding Feng's personality. He's a big and looks like an unforgivable man but hes very acrobatic with his attacks and the second he opens his mouth Shakespeare crawls out (wow that's a image).
ROFL what a way to put it, but I agree!
Great Pirates of the Caribbean scene. XD
So iconic
Play warriors orochi 3 ultimate answers you it's the greatest story, the greatest maps and characters 🔥
From my understanding Wei Yan (in the game no idea what he was like in real life yet) seems to have symptoms of Autism
Angry Bob Ross would most definitely say if he got to he certain point "You were the failed attempt at fixing an accident" (I figured it'd be best if I put this under the same thing cause why make 2 separate things and gonna be honest after I typed this and moved on to the next I forgot I typed this Angry Bob Ross thing) but if you fail a battle whatever progress you make in it whatever changes won't remain which is why it's best to make the changes save then head to the battlefield or the mission
I know another person said this but always remember just cause the moral bar ain't their don't mean it doesn't exist
interesting, that would make a lot of sense!
Ma Dai is a very... interesting character. He's a swell fellow but his paintbrush moveset is lacking. This stage is notoriously difficult and the lack of a morale gauge in this game to help your contributions directly help your allies. The strategy is to be super overpowered, use Red Hare, and run from dot to dot as quickly as possible. Getting the rare weapons on this stage is nightmarish. I think my strategy was double Lu Bu halberds because the switch attack buff on the halberd is overpowered and can let even the weakest character rapidly clear any stage. I feel your pain.
It's good to know it's not just me. I was legitimately ready to just set the controller down and walk away. 🥲
7:55 "I never lose!!" 5 seconds later. "I lose!!" lol
🤣
I don't even think I thought about how that would sound back to back while editing XD
3:17 YOU FOUND HIM!! And it was right this time! Hurrah.
They keep hiding him so well! I was so excited I got it right 😆
18:16 if only that was true I love how optimistic Shu is despite the disadvantages their kingdom has. Just a little unfortunate how history played out... partially looking at you Huang Hao and a few others...
Yeah i liked Shu but was originally more a Wei guy with them being the blue forces my favorite color. But as i learned about Cao Cao's numerous crimes putting it nicely. As much as i like Wu Fan Castle really only benafitted wei. If Shu could have held on to Jie Ting and not put Ma Su in charge they could have likely taken Liang Province as Ma Dai being from Liang could have helped in obtaining it. But Yeah after Wu Zhang Plains its sad because Zhuge Liang/Jiang Wei are my two favorite Shu characters.
Awesome video also with you saying you like the family aspect about Hojo Ujiyasu I think you'll like the Sanada boys but more on them for a later legend... also BTW pressing R1+Y would strength Lady Hayakawa's charge attacks :^ (part of the reason why she is "Special" oriented)
Thanks for the feedback! I haven't selected the next force to play yet, can't make up my mind ... will keep "Sanada" in mind!
The name Notora's last name Ii , I think it's spell with 2 i's, Think pronounced Lee without the L.
I am laughing of you learning your mistakes. But GG for trying to play SW. Eventually, you get better at playing SW.
Getting recommended by TH-cam and enjoyed your commentary, got a new sub here..
Wei Yan and Ma Dai is a semi popular pairing with the fanart community. The producers have said they kind of regret making Wei Yan almost a neanderthal and its something they want to change in the future so I hope that they do give him justice down the road.
Zhang He died in Battle of Mount Qi
Oh, didn’t realize that. He had a long run.
Zhao is more of he has the ability to do so many things but doesn't want to put in the effort unless he is pushed to do so
"Befuffed" now needs to be a common word for the channel XD
💯😆
The ending is so sad bc it’s Ma Dai who kills Wei Yan 😭😭
😢That is so sad. So many of these non-core characters really have tragic stories
4:02 Technically speaking, not really. While Wei Yan is usually portrayed as a traitorous snake, the truth of it is that he was a man robbed of his authority. During the battle of Wu Zhang Plains, Zhuge Liang conspired with his most trusted fellows to plan out their armies next moves after his soon to be apparent death. Specifically noting that the army should retreat, and if Wei Yan were to disagree with this decision, then to leave him behind to be killed. Despite the fact that Wei Yan was supposed to be the second in command of the army, just below Zhuge Liang, he was overruled by Yang Yi. A supporter of Zhuge. One thing led to another, and an attempt to keep Yang Yi from forcing the Shu army to retreat ultimately resulted in the death of Wei Yan. Killed by none other than Ma Dai. Wei Yan's whole family was then subsequently executed soon after. In truth, Zhuge Liang never liked Wei Yan. And this notion of Wei Yan being a traitorous lech permeated for a long time.
Yueying's father want Zhuge Liang to marry his daughter but he refuse. He told men that his daughter was ugly and ask Zhuge Liang to visit his home. Zhuge saw robots and ask the maid who made it. Zhuge met Yueying and they fell in love. They have a son, Zhuge Zhan who married to Liu Shan's daugher to have their son, Zhuge Shang. Both died in the battle to Deng Ai
❤ sheeting😂
The SW5 demo had even more objective popups, I couldn’t with it 😭
Wow, I can't imagine any more popups ... these are already overwhelming at times
@@ShangSeGamesyou can disable those in settings.
Wow, you're such a newbie 😅
You will see that here isn't just three kingdoms but a lot of clans and many retainers switching sides between them. Is very interesting see how each of them chose their own path.
Fun fact Lian Shi and Sun Quan are a couple and have 2 daughters think they have a son but not very sure
The last time I remember any sort of healer being in the game was the DW5 bodyguards when you levelled them up, sometimes they'd get the ability to heal you mid battle which was pretty cool. I really wish they'd bring the bodyguards back again but I don't see it any time soon.
Healing body guards sounds amazing!
Ah this map I'm at 5:39 but i get the feeling you don't like fighting on this map
Useful fact for the future if you use the rage thing and then use musou you will get a ultimate musuo that is very powerful Edit P.s Tadakatsu Honda is the Lu Bu of Samurai Warriors
@@hollowstrife246 Don't cross the street if there is a Honda coming Got it 😁
So Zhuge Liange's plan for the Southern Campaign was to convince Mung Huo to have a alliance with Shu but the people of Nanzhong thought Shu was there to invade and so that's why the fighting happened
Ahhhhh, ok, that makes sense.
18:54 that is a random thing ai will say to motivate you to keep going also earlier when you said Cao Pi didn't have a special comment for those who reach a 1000 is mostly because the special line was already used by Cao Ren himself a character will not say a special line after one does so so it's a coin flip if a random officer says a line and congrats you for reaching a 1000 or the character you're playing will say something instead
4:54 yes that is true
Wait expresse like panda express
So, the crossbow master seal gives you 3 star compatibility with crossbows. Thats it. Same for every "_______ master" seal. Power and Speed dont affect a stat the way you might think. Those determine weapon compatibility. Power weapons (like the crossbow) will shoot a small whirlwind with each attack when at max compatibility. Speed weapons (like the harp) let you cancel your attack with an air dash. Different power weapons require high power levels and the same for speed weapons. The crossbow is an interesting gimmick weapon. It wants you to use the switch attack to greatly increase its attack speed and then after the 4-6 strong attack, the user nocks their crossbow making them shoot in a wide spray instead of a smaller concentrated area. The crossbow is very stationary and wants to attack from a distance which is probably why Lianshi gets high speed so you can use a secondary weapon that is faster. I personally like using her with the chain whip. The crossbow is much better in DW8 where you can give it velocity to make it attack significantly faster and attach elements like Slash and Thunder that deal percentage max health damage to enemies. Sadly, in this game, you'd have to rely on weapon swapping to benefit from the attack speed buff the switch attack gives or using a secondary weapon with the wind element and the double element seal so the crossbow and ignore guard with its charge attacks. There's more depth to this game than meets the eye, especially on harder stages.
It's funny. I never knew about the whole nocking the crossbow mechanic until just recently. Combining that with the attack speed buff you get from the weapon switching, and Lianshi becomes one of the best characters to use in the Rampage mode. She's quite fun. But only when you understand her weapon mechanics.
There are a lot of hidden mechanics in the game like that. For instance, you can use the iron fan switch attack and then use harp normal attacks to make area of effect sound waves bounce off the spinning fan. But what you might not know is that the iron fan switch attack has invincibility frames for its entire animation that you can then jump cancel with 3 star compatibility to break out of enemy combos. Little things like that are what I love about this game.
I beat the crap out of Lu Bu using Lian Shi 😂 bruhh Archers are OP af, if you know how to use them properly.
Archers don't suck; they're op. Unless they're in melee range. Luckily, Ina of Samurai Warriors has blades at the end of her bow to be mix combative. Also, i only played Bao & Lian Shi a small bit in DW8 and in WO3/4 Of the Orochi series. Can't say I've played everyone in DW unlike SW(haha... look at those achievements called played everyone in story mode at for every map. And overtimefrom older games/Looking at you Yoshimoto before SW5) But, besides that i did like more of SW combat than DW's way.
3:37 ah yes, the most mysterious power of all: the power of wat
🤣
If I i remember correctly, in the main menu there should be an encyclopedia option where you can read a heavily abridged version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms which is based on Record of the Three Kingdoms which is based on the history of third century China. Its quite fascinating to read and gives you answers to some of the questions you're asking.
Ok no one explained it so i will. The throwing knives are fast but weak weapons that are designed to rapidly fill your Musou attack gauge so you can use your Musou attack repeatedly. Both characters who use the throwing knives have strong musou attacks. Wang Yuanji has an absurdly powerful air musou and Zhurong has an equally powerful R1+O Musou. Their standard ground musou attacks are mediocre but their second musou attacks are very strong. That being said, Zhurong also has a very powerful C5-EX attack. The biggest part of this game is the weapon seal system and building efficiently between either a Musou or double element build. I was deep in the tier list scene for this game when it was still relevant so if ever you have questions, I'm more than happy to help 😊
Just came across my recommended and I am subbing. Your enjoyment of this game is bringing me a lot of happiness and I'm excited for you to meet Noh and Ina. They're two of my favorites. Ina was the first true archer in a Warriors game but she's unique in that she does melee attacks with the bow using normal attacks and shoots the bow with charge attacks. It's so refreshing compared to Huang Zhong in Dynasty Warriors 7. Also, with Lady Hayakawa, when she uses her skill that buffs nearby allies, you can buff your second character if you're close enough to them. This goes for any skill that specifically says it buffs allies. And this game looks better than Dynasty Warriors 7 because it came out many years later and was a dual PS3 PS4 release on a better engine.
Woah people still play Dynasty Warriors 7!?!? It's one of the best. My favorite is Dynasty Warriors 8. It helped me through tough times haha. GOOO BAO SANNIANG!!!
I’m a little late to the party (by about a decade) but I made it! I really enjoy the character portrayal in this one :)
@@ShangSeGames ooohhh. What made you get into DW series? And what platform you play on? PC port is pretty booty haha.
@@yeendless670 I have been playing DW for nearly 20 years, but the last console I bought was the XBox 360, so I was a bit behind. After I graduated college, I started dabbling back into some games on PC and discovered Steam had some of the DWs I missed, so I picked them up ... a decade or more after release, but better late then never :)
I was in your position played this for the first time about 5 years ago and I absolutely loved it. I have trouble remembering a lot of the character names and the factions and the history compared to Dynasty Warriors but I've played DW since DW3 so it's basically a part of me now. I'm unsure how far you are so far and if you plan on playing the whole thing in your videos as this is the first video of yours I've ever seen but I'd love to see how you get on with it!
Glad to know there are others like me out there :) I hope to play through the story modes in the coming weeks/months ... hopefully not years (not sure how long the story goes).
Shu captured Meng Huo and released him 7 times. They made a promise to never rebel again. Also Guan Suo married Meng Huo's daughter for alliance. Bao Sanniang killed a chief and Guan Suo defeated her to married her.
7 times? wow, that's something
I found you recently and I'm really liking your warriors content. It's refreshing having somebody who looks at these characters as is instead of historical counterparts or prior incarnations in the franchise .
As a main SW player, to get the Y opportunity to preform a "mighty strike" usually goes with stunning them; easier with X X Y (My brain is trying to wrap around the xbox controls while been playing on PS for so many years) Tho, for the ai controlled hero if you press up on the touch pad (for example when the tip showed you press down to use the item) when pressing up allows you to give commands as well cycle what they do. (Free they go around searching and occasionally finding bonus or regular objectives. Wait, as instructed, they permanently stay in place till you give them a new move command, and lastly, they can be told protect which automatically puts them on course for your controlled character to "protect"). As for the relationships between characters with the smiely face, I'm not too sure if there's any passive value to that. Otherwise, I'm glad to catch this recommendation on a whim by YT xD
I'll have to give that a go! (I really want to see the Mighty Strike interaction 😄) Also, thanks for the breakdown of controlling the other character. (So much to learn in this game!)
FUN FACT out of all Empire titles, I would argue Samuari warriors 4 EMPIRES is one of the best empire titular games, superior than Dynasty warriors, cooll video sister.
Good to know! I’ll keep that in mind
