Is the 2025 T7 worth the upgrade?
With the newly updated 2025 Tenere 700 just revealed at EICMA should you wait for the new bike or take advantage of the deals on the "old" 2024s?

T7 vs Michigan single track - Day 2

First I want to say a huge thank you to Mac and his girlfriend's family for inviting and hosting us. To Joel for pacing me on day 1 and driving us around to find a battery ground cable. Mark for helping lift my bike and being the only one of us smart enough to bring food. And Nick for driving the whole way up and always pushing all of us to spend more time on the bikes. Can the Tenere 700 keep up with dirt bikes? Michigan single track day 1

Took the Yamaha to Gaylord Michigan to ride the Tomahawk trail loop through Wolverine and all the way into Petoskey and near Cheboygan with my friends Nick, Mac, Mark, & Joel. This was my first time riding off-road with the T7 and I had a blast. Michigan trails are great flowing single track with mellow hills. Soft sand was the most challenging obstacle for an adventure bike, along with getting...

Your exhaust sounds good ! Is that the akropovik?
@@swill969696 thanks! It’s actually a Chinese knockoff high mount pipe from AliExpress, works great and under $200 👍🏼
I think a person should do what makes them happy. Might I pay more for a 25? Most assuredly yes. Does this make a difference to anyone besides the buyer? Nope. If someone needs to brag about their deal, and put me down for paying more, I don't care.
@@TheJumpn hey as long as you end up on a T7 you’re getting a good deal 👍🏼 great bikes that are hard to be let down by no matter the year!
The most overrated bike on market. cog is horrible. Suspension still not on pair with competition. Weight with some mandatory accessories is absurd with almost 220kg fully fueled
everything is overrated to someone!
@rideoutside i am among rhe people who is not interested in brand by itself. I have to ride a motorcycle, and if i like it, I compare kt with competitors, and rate them all, regarding on fun factor i have, and price tag. You miss a lot, if you focus on one model, without trying anything else.
Agreed regarding the fit. Also i bought the Acerbis vent cap, which lasted 2 months then failed. I'll live with the tank for now but it's the last Acerbis product I'll buy
You did forget to mention the clutch case side doesnt stick out anymore. Tank ceter of gravity lower (so they say). Heavier exhaust hanger, little more coverage from extra fairing. Riding modes, (not even sure it needs an option) abs button on and off. Doest have the right hand scroll wheel. Suspension is supposed to be from the world Raid, but Im 220lbs, so I would still need the upgraded Suspension.
@@RandomParrot nice catch! Weird decision they made to update the exhaust hanger instead of just making it replaceable.
Haha , Mark is bush wackiing
Mark was having a blast lol
Ok, every motorcycle reviewer focuses on whether or not a bike has a quick shifter?? Honestly what is the fascination with these?? I have one on my 1200 GS that I’ve had for almost 8 years now and I rarely use it. If the next bike I buy doesn’t have one I won’t add it if available.
@@joegregory109 some people find performance tuning and technology just plain fun! Sure it isn’t necessary but neither is buying a GS when a KLR exists lol
Don't know where you are located, but you were (are) able to pick up a 2024 T7 for $8,300 + tax, shipping etc...??
@@therealtashiro Dreyer Motorsports in Indy, I’ve bought a few bikes from them now and they’ve always been great. I believe they still have some if you’re nearby.

Is it top heavy. I've heard rumors of the 24 being top heavy.
@@30mrgoodfellow it is but no more than the 20-23’s. Just keep it moving/upright and you’ll be fine, it’s only really an issue when you have to pick it up!
@rideoutside That's usually what I end up doing. Picking up after I find myself where I shouldn't be.
Just bought a new 24 out the door for 8893 cash. When i got quotes on a 25 I lol and said i'll take the 24.
Where?
@ Rock hill SC. It was last one.
I got then new tenere .. By CfMoto. The 450mt !!!
No ragrets getting the 2022 model still with the monochrome display. I still think the 2022 and earlier models are better because they are simpler. Just my 2 cents... In late 2022 I payed 10.700€ for my Tenere. Now they are going for 11.374€. That alone was worth it.
True! Only bad thing about the early models was the turn signals 😅
@@rideoutside Replaced them with Yamaha LED turn signals from 2023 model. 😁😁
Somewhere, I have heard the pricing will be the same on the base model, 2024 vs 2025 They would have to do this so they can charge extra on the packages they will sell later on, which will probably include cruise control. Likely, they would have to change the switch gear for this upgrade, so it may be included in a more comprehensive change
@@gordonborsboom7460 I think you’re right In the end they are trying to make money and that’s a good way to do it
I much prefer the looks and function of my 2021. Not interested in rampant electronics unless it includes cruise control.
@@joshdoddadbod agreed, I forgot to mention the new bikes have traction control now too…on this bike I think that would be a nuisance.
@@rideoutside TC for bikes with 73PS is a joke...
I have a 2024 T7 and love it...the only thing I would liked to have had from the 2025 is the ABS on / off button... scrolling through the menu is't bad but one button... nice...I usually ride with just the rear abs off...so I'm not sure if that one button will do just rear off..? anyway I know my 24 is a great bike with some up grades...I'm sure the 25 will be as well....
@@chrismcallister6546 I bought the LSK abs dongle and it gives you everything you’re asking for. Well worth the $130 and it takes 2 minutes to install. The bike also remembers your ABS setting after you turn it off!
If you have a 24 then no. Otherwise might be worth the upgrade.
great video! 3:20 Wish we could install the 3rd gen quichshifter (the one that allows up-down shifts with open-closed throttle) on this bike...
@@vaggelisntaloukas2016 oh me too…I want to hear that CP2 auto blip!! I think it’s possible with the 25s now, but of course no details yet.
Ariemann1 soaks his tubes in silicone spray, bends rims doesn't get flats. The main point I think is that if you are in the middle of nowhere on a tubeless rim, and you bend the rim....no bead seal..simple as that...very little opportunity to repair...stuff the tire with grass. Enduro riders fix flats on the trail....ADV riders want everything to be easy? come on......changing a flat is a pain in the ass, but rare, and when the time comes, fix it, be prepared...practice make perfect. Doing it once for the first time will be a problem for sure....Real off road riders aren't complaining. I am perfectly happy with tubes in my tires....they can be repaired easily if you know what you are doing...its just work thats all. Its not all fun and games. I ride carefully to avoid bending rims int he first place.
@@greyfisher3897 I think you missed the point I was trying to make but that’s probably my fault for being brief. Adam Riemann is an amazing rider and he’s probably bent more rims than I ever could in 3 lifetimes. If he has advice to give by all means take it. But I am not Adam, and 99% of T7 owners aren’t either. So here’s my attempt to elaborate: 1. If I bend a tubeless wheel in the middle of nowhere and the bead won’t seat like you say, I’ll leave the grass on the ground and put a tube in it. Just because a wheel is tubeless doesn’t mean it can’t be used with a tube. (this is the biggest reason there are almost no downsides) 2. Enduro riders ride enduro bikes. Enduro bikes have much narrower wheels. Those narrow wheels utilize rim locks. It is impossible to run rim locks on the OEM T7 wheels. 3. Yes I believe ADV riders do want everything to be easy when it comes to maintenance and repairs because that means more time on the bike. More time on bike = more practice = opportunity for more challenging rides. 4. I am prepared, I’ve changed many sets of tires and tubes unfortunately. 5. “Real off-road riders” ARE complaining. Hence the prevalence of foam inserts and TUBliss systems that virtually ALL serious off road riders utilize at this point. Systems that similar to bead/rim locks cannot be used with the T7 because of its wide rim size. 6. It is all fun and games! We’re all out here to have fun and if you aren’t you seriously bought the wrong bike… (Pol Tarres excluded) So with that said, why on earth would an ADV bike with wide rim sizes come with tube type rims??? I can think of two reasons - cost, and it presents itself as a more “serious” off-road bike in marketing. Even though real off roaders know those fat rims are a dead giveaway… PS - I hate tubes so much I even run TUBliss on enduro bikes 🤘🏼
Respect.
Experiencing wind buffeting problems :? Think so because of the windscreen. Mine 2024 T7 is driving me crazy because of wind noise. -.-
@@motoric5188 Since I made this windshield I’ve been really happy with it. Try taking the windshield completely off and go for a ride, if it’s better you can make one like I did or just buy the shortest one you can find. Worked great for me and my head is in clean smooth air. If I was riding a ton of highway miles, I’d probably buy a madstad though. Have had good luck with them in the past!
I put a screen riser on mine, makes a big difference, still get some noise same as all ADV's but now I can ride with my visor up and no glasses . I've ridden a KTM 890 and that was terrible, needed to have your visor down even at low speeds.
for me , no man , i had already upgrade mine 23' model with 5.5hp more power sooo ... im fine ! Cheers from Greece !
I agree, it’s hard to start over after getting a bike setup how you like. Enjoy it!
t7 most overpriced bike on the market right now
At full MSRP with all the dealer fees I’d have to agree somewhat. A lot of deals on the 24s right now though that I think make it a great value!
Used prices are still really strong too
To be fair, I'd pay 20 grand for it, it's THAT good of a bike. I've already met probably around 15-20 people who have well over 400,000km on the clock on their Teneres and that's without any issues failures or breakdowns whatsoever. I also know a few with 600,000+km.
I bought mine in 21 and it was great value then, but I somewhat agree with you based on price vs specs on other bikes now, but reason is there is big demand for a simple reliable bike that's fun to ride and own so why would they sell them cheaply unless demand starts to dry up for them. All about supply and demand, maybe the others are selling at low margins to try to get a share of the market.
So you are clearly an absolutist. A person who makes extreme baseless comments and assertions, based on generalizing non specific points. the most, the best, the worst etc etc....purely. People who comment on a few thousand here or there, based on competition, are either cheap, or poor. There...there is extreme baseless comment for you to digest....and compare to yours....
The struggle is real
they needed to update the shift linkage on the new ones 😂
I think that was my fault lol
awesome for sending it thru the tight stuff! My short legs don't help me on this kind of stuff so i stick to a lighter bike when tackling the woods. But 2-tracks, 50" tracks where you get this thing going, it's game on!
absolutely, this bike really shines in the open, smoother areas!
The T-7 needs a much lower first gear and a taller over drive 5th and 6th gear .. Not just street bike gears.
I wouldn’t complain about that It’s still better than most other ADV bikes I’ve ridden though
@@rideoutside I was interested in a KTM for the really low gas tank, but with all of the camshaft failures, I think I will pass
What’s your windscreen? Is that the stock screen cut down and painted?
