Real Zero Pod E05 - From Gas to Green - Energy and Power Demystified with Tom Parsons
In this episode of Real Zero, hosts Professor Hugh Montgomery and Dr. Daniel Grant speak with Tom Parsons, Director at Good Energy, about the critical role of renewable energy in combating climate change. They explore how switching to genuine green energy suppliers, installing solar panels, and adopting heat pumps can significantly reduce household and business carbon emissions.
Tom explains the current state of the UK energy mix, highlighting that 50% of the grid is now powered by renewables, but much more needs to be done. The discussion also unpacks common misconceptions about green tariffs, the reality of energy pricing, and the challenges of balancing the grid with intermittent renewable sources.
The conversation dives into practical solutions, such as switching to a 100% renewable supplier, adopting energy-efficient technologies, and supporting policies that accelerate the transition to renewables. Listeners will walk away with actionable insights on how to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

    Vaxxed US citizen here. What is missing from public awareness is that the science was never done correctly. It's important and should figure strongly in this kind of video. The vax should've been optional until completion of a large randomized controlled clinical trial that discovered all vaccine problems B4 mandating anything. Important RC trials *still are not performed* prior to the new booster coming out. It's temporary use authorization after temporary use authorization. The science needs to be taken seriously and done right. Not all anti-vaxxers are nuts. This is a big reason for loss of trust in Gov't policies.

    I thought it has the potential to interfere with certain vitamin & mineral absorption? Is that not the case?

    • @TheStealthDoctor
      @TheStealthDoctor 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Long-term it can impact nutrients which prefer an acidic environment for absorption - that includes B12, calcium, magnesium and iron. We're talking long-term use though - well over a year - and if that's the case your prescribing doctor may want to keep an eye on it. People who have diets already low in those nutrients (e.g. vegans for B12 and iron) are arguably more at risk. Great question.

    For me personally, ibuprofen is a miracle pain killer. Even my physicians and dentist are surprised. I can do a root canal and ibuprofen is enough. I am elderly... Over 70, and have arthritis of my spinal cord. I take a very controlled amount to keep me out of pain. I won't take anything addictive. Maybe when I get old. My physician added marijuana to my regiment of pain control. Within 10 minutes I am pain free. I never drive on it.....ever. I suggest everyone research it.
