Join me as I journey from Canada to Indonesia, begin the PADI Divemaster coursework, and dive with Manta Rays for the very first time!
A lot changed after I quit my job in 2022 and moved to Nusa Lembongan, Indonesia, to complete my PADI Divemaster course. After months of working through footage, I am so excited to finally share some highlights from my time there and give you a view into a day in the life of a Divemaster in training.

I dove Hornby back in the 90's and had the same experience with the sea lions. They must be pretty used to divers. What we also saw that wasn't on this video was a six gill shark that swam past us at a depth of 120 feet. It passed maybe 5 feet away from us and paid us absoltely no attention.

I loved your video! I am 41 and taking early 'retirement' in a few years and this is on the list of things to do. My first year away from work is to spend a year slow travelling and I want to do this. I already have my AOW PADI and over 250 dives, but this further inspires me to get my Divemaster cert. Would having a slow blinking lights of different colors on each diver help to insure you can have more visibility on the group?
Surprisingly you lose light almost immediately because of all the stirred up particles, how dense the water is, and how much light it absorbs!

They start on the surface and can grow up to 50m in length! Pretty epic stuff.
