    A few details that are very important: -Its important to deferentiate between types of fat. Unsaturated fats are useful for cell regeneration and production among other things, saturated fats are less useful and can end up stuck in the walls of major blood vessels, causing issues ranging from circulation problems to heart failure -Most fats in food don't make it to your skin reserves (what we call "body fat"). They usually circulate around and get sent back out, used up, or stored in the liver. -Body fat is mostly made when excess SUGARS get put into the body. The body wants to reserve as much extra energy as it can, and fat is a lot more energy dense than sugar. Sugar is more to blame for obesity than fat by 10 million country miles. -The sugar industry supressed that last fact in the 70's and actively promoted the lie that "fat causes fat"

  • @Na3l_96
    @Na3l_96 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This comes from the assumption that we evolved in an environment with constant access to all the nutrients we needed all the time, but we didn't , our bodies try to store as much as it can cause starving for 99.99% of human history was much more of a problem than obesity or clogging your arterys and you wouldn't live enough to die for obesity related problems anyway, there's nothing specific about being highly adaptable.

      No: diabetes is a complex, highly nuanced, multifactorial condition. What's this? A video from three years ago from Plant Chompers entitled, "Worst Of The Ketogenic Diet Gurus #2: Gary Taubes", that people are still commenting on. From someone actually who actually has a grad degree in science. What's this? Gary is friends with Nina T., an unqualified journalist who got rich making false statements about how healthy tallow and lard are, so she can continue to get funding from the beef industry.

    Very interesting interview, leaves me with wondering why oxalate poisoning was never addressed. You eating greens and salad meal after meal , is something I could no longer do! Yeah? I eat greens and salads meal after meal, and I weigh less in my late forties than I did ten years ago. My lipid panel and A1C haven't been this low in years. Looks good on the carni quacks: I will not rest until all the MDs lose their licenses, Shawn Baker and Paul Saladino were only the beginning. No doubt, I could drop dead any moment from "oxalate poisoning" my doctors are still struggling to find. Oxalates don't causes osteporosis unless you had done something dumb with your meal planning.

      Good science. 100 years ago, people didn't know any better. Read Harvard's study about the perils of eating too much red meat. Not just about increased insulin resistance and inflamed pancreas, it also increases dementia risk. Probably why my Dad isn't allowed to drive anymore who had gone a lifetime eating steak and few veggies.

      Will have to finish this film later this week sorry. My son in law is diabetic and has changed diet, on less meds. Hope he makes it to none . I believe he needs to move more but slowly he is getting there. I am not sure if you are for meds or not yet. I just spoke out. Sorry. I HAVE HAD TWO STROKES.. Those docs wanted me on meds, forced me to take while in the hospital.. made me ill brused me all over and they did not care. I threw them in the trash..and taught myself how to walk again, write and I was not happy about it. Over 2 years and after the first year learning slowed. Felt like it would not happen .IT DID. I WRITE, WAS WORKING, DRIVE, RIDE A BIKE EVERYTHING I WANT .. this was years ago but here is the trigger for me. THEY COULD NOT FIND what caused them said I drank to much milk. That my cholesterol was perfect BUT TAKE THE MEDS ANYWAY ??? nope nope not me . I personally feel the more drugs you take the faster you kill yourself. Over the counter ones as well and you need to watch what vitamin company you use. Each person will be different when it comes to diet. Learn yours and make the change. I just know I feel better. First thing everyone should do is ..if in a box do not buy make or eat it. Start there. Stay away from aspartame. Oh sorry. Got carried away. Will watch and learn you soon ♥

    I detect a little bit of bias against carnivore. On the one hand, she's arguing that people should not rule out keto because it's too hard. At the same time she's saying that people don't need to go to Carnivore because it is too restrictive. Give me a break. I've been carnivore for 3 years and I find it to be much easier than keto. And I have no issue staying in a high level of therapeutic ketosis. You just can't go crazy eating a lot of protein. Just as you can't on keto.

      @@lifeinsuranceguru some people are struggling to maintain ketosis with a carnivore approach- which foods help you?

    • @FamilyHealthLab
      @FamilyHealthLab 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good points. Most dietitians are newly learning about the carnivore approach as an option and are not yet confident in supporting this eating pattern. Denise says that she needs to understand this better - but knows that some people are doing very well with carnivore.

    • @lifeinsuranceguru
      @lifeinsuranceguru 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FamilyHealthLab The key is managing protein. I can go up to about 1 G per kilogram of body weight before it will kick me out of therapeutic ketosis. I usually eat between 12 and 14 oz of beef per day. The rest of my calories come from fats. Usually in the form of butter and cream.

    • @FamilyHealthLab
      @FamilyHealthLab 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lifeinsuranceguru Great that you have found an approach that suits you, and a clear understanding of how to tweak things to maintain ketosis. Some people on carnivore are limiting their meats, and having leaner cuts. atty cuts of meat, ie ribeye steaks, pork and lamb chops, and oily fish like salmon can help- as well as adding sources of animal fats to meals - such as beef tallow, duck fat, or pork lard, this can enhance flavour as well! Some people really need to limit their dairy, partiularly milk drinks, if ketosis is a key goal on carnivore.
