Depending on how much work you want to put into it, we still have a few signs running around our area that are white with red lettering and blue trim. would be cool to do it like the old signs- just an idea
Nice haul lots of goodies there
Nice video and Great looking handles for some great looking axe heads
those will look nice with the axe heads 👍 I need a large single bit axe handle and I'd like to make one - I'm just not very good at it yet 😁
It's good to be known and gifted stuff! I vote for red can and white lettering.
those tools for that price, gotta love it, especially when they are in good hands.. recently got my own bit of luck, bought a set of eric anton berg, eskilstuna chisels for 15 euro, only two handles where newer fits.. cheers
@@runs_through_the_forest Cheers Buddy. It's good to find old gold.
Maybe use an enamel coachbuilder’s paint when you do paint it, applied with a brush.
Thanks, I have Ransome green enamel coach paint. It might just end up that colour.
Nice lesson can if the paint is good in would leave it black.
That looks like a great little anvil! The perfect size for a shed shop! That was a great box of tools for a great price. That will keep you busy for a little while! Cheers! 😊😊😊
@@timeflysintheshop Cheers, I have a lot of wire brushing and cleaning up to do. In rust we trust..
It is a sweet old can! With a little love, it will be a beauty! Whatever colour you choose will be the right one for you and your shed! :)
@@timeflysintheshop Thanks buddy
Mohawk Shelbourne was the 10:13 economy tool line for Millers Falls. Nice buys. That little vise is a gem.
@@yadda_toolsCheers buddy. Thanks for the info.
proper anvil for sure! Love the handmade wooden handles and the shop made vise is fantastic! But that hatchet 👍👍 awesome. You sure found a good collection of hammers and chisels, all for a good price!
@@MattsGarage1791 Cheers Matt
Nice haul from the auction, love your videos!
Thanks Colin
Love the collection. Don’t let your wife see it. 🇦🇺👴🏻
@@PeanutsDadForever Shhhh, thanks.
What a fantastic haul!! I especially love the anvil, glad you’re keeping it. 👍
@Papa-Anvil Cheers buddy.
Absolute bargains, that saw is a beaut!
A fine addition to any man's shed! I have quite a few tools made in Englad, but I have yet to come across one with the arrow. Do you watch Reggyontheroad? He has an amazing tap and die set collection. A little while back he got two WW2 era sets (one imperial and one metric) with the broad arrow.
@@timeflysintheshop Cheers it sure is. I'll take a look at Reggyontheroad.
Happy to see you taking care of these lovely tools.
It's in good nick, glad to see its being given a bit of care in its old age. Hopefully you're using it?
@@ElThomsono Cheers, Yes it gets an outing now and then.
Aye very nice, I've always wanted a shot of one! That or to just sit in the shed and file it back to fine fettle.
@@ElThomsono I'm looking forward to seeing how this cuts.
Neat saw. Those two man saws make great qall hangers and shelf queens.
Thanks Brian, that saw looks to be in excellent condition, a great find, I have one of the "Crosscut" saws with an ancillary handle for a second person which has a similar tooth pattern that was my Grandfather's, my other Grandfather had a full two man saw like that (but longer) on the wall of his barn at the farm but it was left behind when they sold up sadly !
Hi ya , I also have a similar soft spot for handplanes ,type 13 American Stanleys did not have any orange background behind the logo on the lever cap , type 13 are easily identified by a single patent date behind the frog , so the plane you showed may be correct , nice collection , the affliction you speak about can turn into an addiction and I'm down that rabbit hole 🤣😂🤣
@@plane-madness-121 Cheers, I know that Rabbit hole well. Thanks for watching.
A beautiful tool still functional. 🇦🇺👴🏻
@@PeanutsDadForever it is that..
You didn’t ruin the history or its patina. Great work. 🇦🇺👴🏻
@@PeanutsDadForever thanks buddy.
That is the right way to restore great old hammers, in my opinion. Is that a Glaswegian accent I'm hearing? My Da was from Parkhead. (Or as he said, Parkheid.)
A couple of old beauties there! "Charm" is ok, but I like to say it has "character". 😊😊😊
My hat's off - wonderful to preserve the antique handmade hammer as is. 👍
I love that you cleaned it up and left the patina, it looks great!!
@@Papa-Anvilthanks buddy
What a magnificent tool and at a magnificent price! I love using a draw knife. It feels primal to put steel to wood and make chips with it. You can feel how well the tool is biting, and how the grain of the wood changes as you go. You are living the dream! 😊😊😊
@@timeflysintheshop It is something quite special. You're right about using a drawknife, once you learn its ways it becomes a pleasure to use. Cheers, Brian
Eklind are a good brand made in USA. They are not super high end like Snap on, but they are good. I have seen the black, super slim made in England wrenches here in the USA. I think they are made by Williams. That was a good haul and the big adjustable was a steal! 😊🎉😊🎉😊🎉
@@timeflysintheshop Thanks for the info buddy. The big Adjustable is pretty neat. Cheers, Brian
Nice plane , the old Stanley’s are a thing of beauty - mostly! Just got a new “low angle “ today for my installs , relatively inexpensive and seems pretty stout and true Cheers
@@djfglobal3377 Thanks for watching. A nice sharp plane is always a pleasure to use.
My hewing axe has a 16" handle
@@petertiffney4413 thanks Peter, I'll hold the rule against mine again.
good afternoon on this chilly January day! love the boxwood folding rule 👍 I've got a 5lb late 1800's axe head that's a beautiful rusty mess that I'm looking forward to cleaning up and hanging. that hewing axe is absolutely wonderful!
Hi Matt I love those old boxwood rules. I'll keep an eye out for you fixing up your axe. Cheers, from chilly West Lothian.
Awesome little plane. I’m quite fairly sure I have seen one of them in a guy’s collection I go visit at times.
@@markjarman7819 Cheers it is pretty awesome.
It's a beautiful very useful tool if I ever see one I definitely would buy one.
Will have to hunt for one of those!
@@philiprogers8620 Enjoy the hunt buddy.
Beautiful antique draw!

WOW! I've been looking for one of these for years, I think there aren't that many in Scotland, where did you find it? Btw I think I've watched most of your videos, this is my first comment tho, nice to see see another Scottish tool collector.
@@scotsman7626 there's a guy at my local car boot sale in Falkirk. He knows what I collect and will find tools elsewhere and bring them with me in mind. Cheers for watching.
Thanks for the video, that's a lovely tool and a great price I'd say, a draw knife is a much underrated tool and that design is real for a travelling craftsman along with a folding bucksaw !
@@andyc972 You're right the drawknife is a very handy tool.
So you’ve shown us some of your stools, and some of your carvings. What about showing us some of the carving tools and chisels you would use for doing these jobs?
Hello thanks for looking in. Some of my early videos show carving chisels and some spoon carving tools. I will be doing more in the future .
A folding draw knife for 25 quid was a steal.
@@yadda_tools It sure was.
Fantastic find Brian, and in excellent condition for its age, kind of guessed what it was but not familiar with them was not sure of the correct name! Great to hear you have put it to use already, alongside the more readily identifiable version on your bench there… :) Thank you for sharing your treasures with us, cheers, Rog… 🐍
@@Venomator. Cheers for watching. It is in remarkable condition for its age.
It’s in amazing condition, looks like whoever it owned it previously treated it well through the decades. I’ve seen drawknives with folding handles but never spring loaded like this one, the high quality of this tool really shows. Thanks for sharing this Brian!
@@darrenmacmartin9392 Cheers it must've been well looked after by the previous owner/s. I'll take good care of it now.
😃👍
