Yes, you can transfer water from one tank to another as well as diesel from one tank to another. We did not spend the extra money to make it US compatible. When thinking it over there more places in the world with a European model than the US. So we purchased all of our electronics in France before we departed. I also bought a bunch of Ceptics converters for next to the beds, and another one upstairs for USB, C and US plugs. They work great.

Hey folks, thank you for sharing another video with us! This one is shot in landscape and HD, and to top it off, you even showed us parts of the boat (systems) absolutely no one else is showing, not even Windelo. Sincerely, this is very much appreciated! I have some (too many perhaps) questions if you folks have the time. 1:14 Does Windelo provide a full manual explaining every system and diagnostics for each part? 1:54 Does Windelo provide a maintenance schedule for these systems like a routine checklist of some kind? 2:30 I noticed the rep used the light on his phone to check the system. Ideally there would be a bright light mounted in each compartment (especially the fuse cabinet). Is this something you folks plan on adding or has Windelo mentioned adding to future boats? I'm thinking in the event of an emergency/ power failure this could be an issue. 2:49 What is this illuminated panel. I assume it is the hotwater heater panel? 3:14 Can you hear when the hotwater heater kicks on when laying in bed or is it "sound proofed"? 6:02 Are all of the lights and the smaller panel functions (asked 2 questions ^) controllable\monitorable from the main panel at the helm? 6:03 I noticed the electric distribution panels and equipment were in the head and I didn't see stripping on the cabinet door. Do you believe this might pose a moisture issue with electrically induced corrosion over time? 9:02 Were you folks able to get all of the labels changed to english/ your prefered language if not french? 13:41 Do you get a notification on the main helm panel of an over voltage other than the beeps? 15:05 Did Windelo later label all of the equipment? If not, do you plan to? Similar question as above but do they provide a full electrical run schematic? (similar to the aviation industry). Also, are the wires/data lines color coded/labeled? 16:55 Will the system report voltages/consumption for sub components? And does it log? Is there a way to shift water between tanks to prevent algae growth? Did you folks opt for a US or European voltage system, or something different? Are there ventilation systems to keep all of the electrical equipment in the cabinets cool? Sorry for all the questions. I hope at somepoint you give us the full tour of your new beautiful boat :)

I just stumbled on your channel your first episode, my wife and I are recently retired from the water after 45 years, wonderful years of being part of a great community and upholding maritime traditions, which is what I am getting to. You are becoming sailors now so it's time to separate yourselves from land. Though Second Star is your home now, she is not your house. SHE is your home. The Wynns have also had hassles with corrosion, apparently caused by current leakage. Carbon fiber is conductive, and although it is possible to design to make sure that stray current does not cuase metals to corrode, as is routine for aluminum and steel hulls, it seems possible that the non-cunductive nature of the basalt fiber in the Windelo yachts is less picky, although for sure you would still need sacrificial anodes to safeguard the props and so on. How was the relatively light weight Windelo in heavy seas? Very bouncy and uncomfortable? For sure they seem to be emininently seaworthy.

@@SailingSecondStar-pj3ww There is a load of nonsense talked about the Windelos regarding their clears in the cockpit, claiming that they are not seaworthy due to that, without regard for the fact that that is just the cockpit, with excellent drainage and with the doors behind it providing a bulkhead to the body of the yacht. Their forward cockpit would seem to be an excellent solution, providing more protection than any aft cockpit, and minimising the need to go out on the deck at all, and then you are very protected and secure. Your take and comments on that as well as the comfort can only add to a just appreciation.

We ran into a couple the other day complaining about how soaking wet they were and how scared they were out in the Chesapeake. It was blowing around 20 kn. We just smiled and looked at them, because we had no trouble at all. We weren’t wet. There was no drama, we were just cutting through the waves, and the wind was nothing.we could not have felt more safe.

Thanks for your comments. We’ve had no issues with stray currents and corrosion and our experience has been very positive with Windelo and the build quality. We’ve had minor new boat adjustments and warranty work but nothing close to what the Wynns have experienced. Something to say for French boatbuilders. My favorite thing about Second Star is how fun it is to sail. Unlike some cats, you feel the sails and the wind making it pure joy to be at the helm. Rough weather sailing, something new to me, was easy and felt safe at all times. The boat is not bouncy and carves through high seas like a champ. It is amazing for such a light boat.

So glad to see you guys.. thats stunning..indeed look at the hulls on that 😂😂😂 😎🧙🏻‍♂️🇬🇧 Eggs keep longer if not refrigerated as long as you can keep them cool. What speed did you clock when you were throwing up that rooster yail.

Hmmm... it looks like that I have just found a new channel for watching. Loving the Windelo brand and this vessel. Congratulations! Looking forward to following your adventures.

@@donphobos thanks Dan! Maybe a little more content on my end would be really helpful. We actually just dropped the boat off in Fort Lauderdale to get it all pretty for the Miami boat show. So I’m home and have no excuse for not editing any videos. So I swear I will get something out this week.

@@RebootTheCatamaran that’s so nice of you to say! My husband and I made a deal. He got to choose the layout for the dinghy, mostly because I did not want to jockey seat. So he got that. And I got to design the sail. We even went with octopus, toilet tissue holders, and they’re on our business cards, but we drew the line about there. When the octopus comes out, it is spectacular.

Looks good..and fast. Amazing bridge deck with all those windows and sliding doors…but when a wave smashes into them?

Giant waves nearly splash on the “plastic” front windows, if water gets in, it drains before it gets to the sliders. It’s really dry in there.

In Europe we don't refrigerate our eggs. Better hygiene standards at farms mean our eggs don't need to be chemically washed. American farms have lower standards and their eggs need to be washed to remove bacteria etc. When the eggs are treated they also wash the outer membrane off which protects the egg. So these eggs need to be refrigerated as the shell is now porous. European eggs remain protected and sealed and so don't need to be refrigerated. In case it was confusing/worrying you.

You can get American eggs from local farms that don’t need refrigeration, as well. We had four dozen eggs onboard for 45 days in 80 degree heat and they were fine 😁 just has to be local, unwashed farm eggs, which are easy to get here in Florida

@@AdeboFunkyVoodoo eggs and milk in France are definitely then in the United States. That wasn’t so challenging as just figuring out what token was supposed to go in the cart. Or what the heck everything was because it was all in French. But totally fun and a huge adventure and can’t wait to have more.
