Modern society faces challenges such as climate change and energy shortages, leading to a trend where people move from cities to rural areas due to remote work and lower living costs post-pandemic. We propose an innovative, nature-inspired housing design aimed at energy and food self-sufficiency, forming eco-villages. The bud-shaped houses symbolize growth and regeneration, featuring aerodynamically efficient curved structures that maximize natural ventilation and daylight, reducing energy consumption. The energy self-sufficiency system uses microalgae-based power generation and biogas technology. Microalgae on the house's exterior generate electricity through photosynthesis, absorbing CO₂ and recycling water, while biogas technology converts waste into heating and cooking fuel, producing compost for small farms. These houses, clustered into eco-villages, promote community interactions, shared resource management, and sustainable living, preserving ecosystems and natural resources. Located in Nicolosi, Sicily, the eco-village leverages local agricultural potential and infrastructure, ensuring convenience and integration with residents. This design addresses climate and energy issues by combining advanced technology with sustainable practices, enhancing residents' quality of life through community bonds and mental well-being. This innovative approach fundamentally changes our way of life, offering a sustainable future through new directions in architecture and urban planning.
