i forced myself to find independence within my marriage and the scariest thing happened...
Growing up is hard.
Over the last few months I've seen a shift internally. To be frank I'm kind of all over the place. But one thing is very clear to me: I need to rediscover my independence within my marriage. Sounds weird right? Well I went from living with my parents till 18, to living in a dorm until 21, to living with my boyfriend (who is now my husband). There was a moment in between where i moved and worked in Ohio, but I really never left my apartment. After 8 years of adulthood I think it's time to try again.
I dream of doing huge things by myself - a think week in Montana, hiking the PCT, car camping in Reykjavík, but I am flat out scared. Wonder if any of you feel this way? It may seem silly but starting off with a solo day trip in a neighboring state even feels scary. But I've got to start somewhere - we've got to start somewhere.
So we're taking a break from our usual bookish content and come with me on this self discovery journey. I hope this inspires you too ❤
ps.. i think my next step will be an overnight trip somewhere close by. Stay tuned!

Hello you ❤ Join me in a slightly chaotic highly chatty little tour of my dream bookcase. It's finally done!! I would just like to note this was filmed in early August and since then I've read most of the books i chatted about!! Throne of the Fallen was indeed such a good read just a bit spicy for my taste. I absolutely loved Heartless Hunter - it might be my fave romantasy this year. Still wor...

This has been quite the passion project for me over the last 4 months and i am very pleased with where it led me. I'm finding it extremely difficult to put into words how transformative this experience has been. I think the best way to describe is a total mindset shift. Prior to doing this, I held myself to impossible standards and I was never happy with what i put out there. Sometimes we have ...

Congrats on going out of your comfort zone. Glad you had a nice trip.
Girllll it couldn't be me 😂 i love having fun a little partner with me. I'm so proud of you for taking this little (BIG) step!! ❤❤❤
@@AshloveleyS I do love having someone with but I also want to build up my confidence in myself! Thank you so much friend ♥️
Definitely the best take on this trend
@@Tayisanangel oh wow! Thank you so much!!
Go girl 🎉❤❤
Who else sees both reaflections on the mirror behind’s 😮
This one is like "Don't judge a book by it's cover"
Exactly. Honey witch and Amazing Grace Adam’s I read because of the cover. I put off Fredrik Backman for years bc I didn’t love the cover 😂

omg in the uk there's a shop called the works and sell cheap brand new books ( as art supplies stationery etc) and theyre like £3-£6 each ahhh
@@X.rock.X that sounds amazing!!! Adding it to my uk list ♥️
@@thealexismcbean fr <3
I really Fredrik Backman too
Me too
His writing is quite literally genius. Every book I read I am attached to his characters
@@thealexismcbean totally agree
❤❤❤❤
Thank you for being here friend ♥️
Do you know where the posted content is? I’d like to see what was posted. I personally don’t think the authors need to be hurt by this. I say if someone is hurt or offended and want to use freedom of speech to speak against the person who made the comment and their connection to the publishing house I say go for it but I don’t think the authors should be hurt but that’s my personal opinion.
@@trinc9015 hi! All opinions are valid especially when it comes to this. There is a creator on tiktok Leen who originally posted about it. The point was not to hurt authors - within the ban you can still buy the books and talk with friends and read the books. The point was not to talk about them on social media.. hurting the marketing instead but that inevitably hurts the authors. Not sure the status currently but would check out Leen’s tiktok for more.
Why did it take so long for me to discover your channel? I absolutely love it! ❤ The best part is that you don't have many followers yet still you keep on creating content.
Thank you. I make videos for myself over anyone else which keeps me going ♥️
I’ve read “The Spellshop” and “The Honey Witch” and I enjoyed them both; if you love cozy fantasies, then you are in for a treat ❤.
Aw yay I do love cosy fantasies and am sooo excited to read them!!
I love this camera angle so much!! thanks for the video, perfect vibes before bed!
Opening a jam shop that is a front to a spell shop is my new life goal.

I'm really looking forward to reading 'Hello Beautiful.' I'm a huge fan of 'Little Women,' I've read it multiple times and love the movie adaptations too.
It is like a modern day little women. I loved it with all my heart - I still think about it daily
Ok. Yes.
As a bookseller, I absolutely agree with this 😂

Thank you for your solidarity! I'm one of the organizers and we've been trying really hard to give instructions on how to kindly inform everyone of the boycott so I'm glad that commenter did so. All we can ever do is seek to do better and all of us will at some point do something harmful. I'll be posting an update soon on the boycott <3
I love Jasmine Guillory!
Leave the World Behind was so good! I could not stop talking about it to my family. I’ve been wanting to read Tress of the Emerald Sea! I definitely need to get it second hand because brand new it’s like $30 😮
Ok based on your vlogs I think you would LOVE tress!! So fun so magical
The pure joy that comes from opening book mail 🥹 I hope you enjoy! It’s high time I own a copy of Evelyn Hugo, The Maid and The Lost Apothecary. Stay well everyone xx
Alexis- so awesome unboxing,goodbye. 😈

I love the cozy vibes of this. 💛
Thank youuuu 🫶🏽
Kicking it old school today. Skin care is my second love - right behind books of course. I hope you all enjoy this video and a little peak into my everyday 💞
The outfit!!!
I’ve been wanting to read the Archie series for a while now! Also loved the going out outfit! 🫶🏼
I love that they redid archie with all the riverdale characters!! Now i am on the hunt for 2, 3, 4 haha
Thanks for this video. It's helpful! I am uploading my first video on Sunday and this is potentially the most worrisome thing about having a channel for me... the potential that I share something that is harmful unknowingly. for example, with the SMP thing there's a particular book that is published by them in America but here in the uk is published by someone else and I did not realise so almost did a post with the book in. Luckily this time I realised before I had posted.
Yes it is the biggest challenge I think when putting yourself out there
Loved your take on this.
Why are you not more popular, you’re the type of person who people should look at as a role model💅💅✨✨
My thoughts exactly!
Genuinely the only good book she was written honestly… it ends with us is too overhyped
What a lovely and cozy video! This is my first video from you and I will definitely check out your other videos
oh yay! welcome to my cozy corner <3
This video came right on time, love your jar!
Thank you 🫶🏽
Thanks for the story graph recc, I appreciate reviews that give you some idea of the technical elements and physical experience of reading the book Also HP 5, the one you picked, is where HP teaches the patronus charm to others, he learns it initially in the 3rd book ✌️
YES! I edited this out but that really stumped me for awhile.. good thing I will be rereading and watching at some point for better retention 😅
So happy you got inspired to create your own TBR Jar! I actually love your idea so much about creating prompts! I think I'm going to do a whole seperate jar with prompts and keep the one I already have and give myself the opportunity to pick from both when im up for it lol This was so fun to watch! Happy reading, Alexis!
Ahh I love that! 🫶🏽 thank you friend!
