    It was never a beautiful country mate , a big vast country yes,it was a country you could earn some crust, now the council's, government taxes, makes Australia literally inhospitable. Once upon a time it was classed as the lucky country, now its the enslaved country. Do as your told, or end up in court paying a hefty fine. Australia is about paying the bills.

    I used to build houses... I did the math... if i stopped eating, id be able to buy a family home in 30 years.... and my wage is above minimum wage. Im building houses for people that are paying nearly 1 million dollars for a small family home that i cant even afford in my lifetime... So many workers that build homes are just opting out.... im one of them. So now they have unskilled workers doing the job of skilled at a slower pace further exacerbating the problem. Im not building 4 house frames a day making the company record profits whilst i cant even afford my own damn roof in my lifetime. Just mooch off the system until it collapses and immigrants dont want to come here anymore.... we tried voting, they just don't fucking listen.

    • @kennylee8936
      @kennylee8936 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think what he meant is that solely pointing to immigration as the problem is weak. I agree that it is still a problem and yes the numbers should still be brought down to more sustainable levels...however I feel that it's also used as an easy excuse to ignore the other issues that result to the housing crisis. I definitely think our culture of suburban detached home living is an issue that needs to be changed but I think many Australians are in denial of it. That's not to say that we abandon it completely, but we need to accept that if you want that lifestyle...you need to be willing to live in outer city areas or rural areas...leaving areas close to city centres for high density. Australian culture needs to evolve from thinking suburban living is superior to one that embraces the high density as well. On top of that...both pro-density and pro-sprawl people need to stop demonizing each other for their preferences and work together to build our cities properly.

      Where I live we have a saying regarding USA (at least the bottom 1/4 economically), " USA has housing/appartments like socks). Australia housing sounds on the way to be like here. A house(not appartment) at 3.5 million USD here are at low work spots. A house less than that needs to be at leagal questionable zone+ near battle zone.

      NIMBY mentality is downright awful though, considering people literally don't have anywhere to live. Yes you bought and own your home. That includes the square footage of your property and nothing more. If you expected your surroundings to stay the same over 40 years then you're incredibly naive.

Additionally, USA have free-trade with this nations and they are so close to America that corporations would save large amounts of money in transportation costs along.

It is quite a distance but at about 800 miles compared with your quoted border length gives a ratio only a little more than double - well short of seven times.
