I'll never go back once I get my Cybertruck, been driving a M3P for 3 years there's nothing like it. We use it as a trip car 52K miles and no issues no oil changes nothing. 0-60 in 3 sec its impossible to beat , gas cars cant compete. On trips we usually just stop as we need to use the restroom and let it charge while inside then walk out unplug and leave. Then skip the next "scheduled" charge till the next bathroom/ food stop. Ive only had to wait on a charger while on a trip one time when I first got the car back in 2021 so maybe thats more of a Europe/california thing not getting a charger right off.

It is a bit interesting to see Teslabjørns 1000 km challenge, as it shows not just range but charge speed and efficciency. Some cars have a very long range, but huge batteries and then the quicker charge speed might not yield a quicker roadtrip. The best EVs are however not very far behind a fossile car in a 1000 km run, we are talking about about 15 +- minutes in a trip that takes ~9.5 hrs.

Absolutely numpty of a mistake on his behalf trying to grab a steering wheel when someone else is driving! That right there could have caused a crash! Well done on keeping that under control 🙂

I have a 12 year old diesel in Australia and go 3 to 4 weeks between fill ups and as I live in a unit home charging isn't an option. I drove 923 km on a trip and was still showing 100km till empty. The car still has years of useful life in it, how would a 12 year old Tesla last?

For those in the US, the current FSD v12.3.6 is stunning and only available on a Tesla. Sounds like it will be coming to Europe and China soon.

I'm 74 and have had a LOT of cars. Nothing comes close to the Tesla Model Y I drive now.

So he has range anxiety because they wont go far enough on a tank of fuel. Why don't Teslas have regen on the brake pedal? My EV just drives like a regular car but the brake only engage under extreme situations. If you can't charge at home or work EVs may not work for you.

I'm an old guy too but man alive, my Model 3 Performance is my favorite car and I have quite a few cars. Hating EVs doesn't make sense, it's like hating cars when you have a horse. (Oh, we have horses too!!!) I don't hate any cars, they've all got something for someone. Personally I wouldn't own a pickup truck but they are super popular around where I live.

If you choose to navigate to a supercharger you can see ones with availability and it will 'speak' to other Teslas to make sure you have a space when you get there. It will also precondition the battery to charge quicker

at the end I like it - and subscribed to see how the petrolhead will change his mind over time . I had been working for decades in the hq and factories of brands your dad loves like that of the oldest car manufacturer or the Bentley savor and those boys under the four rings. Will be fun to watch him again cause he is quite late at the table . If he would have driven 5 years ago what would his impression be today looking back on those 5 years of experience and for sure the increase of range, performance, charging speed and price drops too ? Imagine 5 years from today ? The next chemistry can be there cause LFP was back then in 2019 no topic on the Tesla agenda even though this chemistry was already for over a decade in mass production. Just a new chemistry and the whole idea can change by a magnitude once you get another 33% of range with a cheap chemistry, more efficient packaging from Cell to battery, some weight reduction and so on. Just a matter of time.

the myth even further: 500 miles driving a car = 800 km on british highways ? Ridiculous to start this way without the key hint: once every 2 or 3 years or 800 km every 20 years I have driven those 1000 km but just 3 times till I got EV to test those out over how fast you can make those 1000 km in an EV. Below 10 hours on a very good day with low traffic but only on german highways without speed limit. And then the camper towing argument is kicking in again without the key points: how often and how far Here those customers will be kicked somewhere cause the CO2 emissions will make their high efficient diesel so expensive that they will have to think twice: 6 Liter Diesel are about 59 kWh used energy where it would need to get from a to b just 20 kWh in an electric car like a Tesla and quite fast cause you can drive them about 15 kWh. Petrol heads need to pay for the additional loss of 300% of energy which is not used for driving, but heating the environment.: 15 kWh versus 60 kWh is a lot 3 times more emissions than necessary. And forget about the whole mess about electricity is not green. Yes, but it will be for those who will have a brain to use that and to charge during night with all the surplus energy coming from off shore windfarms in the north sea . Time to go ahead and to hit and punish the petrol heads really hard with a gas price 3 times of today to let them pay the CO2 emissions they cause intentionally by ignroing the facts of physics. And Lithium has an even higher recycling rate than Aluminium ... so another argument that is no longer valid.

Most would prefer the old skool Na engine and I agree with that. But I totally understand the mad theory behind a lightweight engine. I would love to the see corner weight figure's. I would imagine it would have less push and understeer. You can get up to and over 300hp out of them. A standard RO6A engine weighs around 66kg with 64hp. If you do a power to weight ratio of just the engine magically powering itself through the air, it produces 969.7hp per ton and a 140hp version will produce 2121.21hp per ton. If you compare that to a sr20de engine 216.5kg and 159hp is 734.41hp per ton and a 200hp version is 923.79hp per ton. So clearly there is a massive advantage in theory. Also be easier to pull the engine out 😂

Personally I love a petrol car I love the sound of my V8 but then again I love electric cars aswell for how simple they are I personally would love a Tesla specially the refresh version since it reminds me of a Subaru BRZ but car is way to expensive for me 🤣 hopefully in the future I can find a used one for cheaper but for now I’ll stick with my current car

You never had to wait for a charger because Tesla navigates to superchargers that have free stalls. The supercharger icons in the navigation system also show how many stalls are in use. If you had routed to a far destination, and let the navigation system choose which supercharging station to charge at, you wouldn't have had to wait for a stall to free up.

Thankyou I'm Getting one it's just which .360S looking good .had a sigma 1600 in a Morgan . But want the Duratec 2Ltr but undecided. Will be a daily ..I only do 2000 miles a yr so would suit me as a daily as I live coastal so I only use B roads and Motorways. Will do track days so may look 360R. Need slip dif. Also 12v socket heater half hood.

Funny video. Dad doesn't want to accept an EV, untill rhey can drive 500 miles on one charge. You have to know, her dad drives every week of the year 500 miles on one day wihout resting in between !!! Wait untill he finds out that you can charge your EV with your own solar panels , that maintaining costs are a fraction of the costs he has with his stinky diesel air pollution vehicle. For the record, I bought my model s when I was 65 years, now I am 75 still having the same Tesla. Total cost including new tires € 3000,= in 10 years and 165000 km. Best car I ever had in the past 55 years. By the way, I also have a Mercedes E diesel T model. Mostly used in winter by me and my wife. In the other time of the year I happily use my beloved model S

With all respect to your father, this is not "as good as it's going to get". Technology improves as time passes, especially with batteries and charging times. But he is correct in that This car is not a panacea for everyone. Different lifestyles prefer different features of each type of vehicle.

Charging for EVs needs to be 5mins. Then I would buy one.
