CHICKEN CAM: Day 67: NEW RUN Bantam Silkies and Cochins
5/20/24
Last week we were able to move our chickens into their new run/enclosure. They still have their Eglu Go Up Coop, but now it is inside an 8' x 12' run. The run is made from three cattle panels and then it is completely covered top to bottom with 1/2" hardware cloth.

4/26/24 Our little pullets and cockerels are getting a bath. Especially the silkies seem to need baths a lot. Everything seems to cling to those fluffy feathers. 4/24/24 It isn't very warm out today so I opted to film the little guys inside. I set the bin on top of our bench and then took the hardware cloth lid off for easy access. 4/9/24 Combs and wattles are starting to come in and some are a bit red. Still hard to be sure about genders. Here are some of my rooster guesses based on different factors. Hello. I am considering using the Stablo with a tripod but I have no plein air experience at all. Would you have any recommendation for a compatible tripod that is of sufficient quality and could reasonably be used for short hikes? Thanks for your help..Val
I haven't tried the Stablo with a tripod yet. But I have a couple of thoughts about a tripod. It is enjoyable to have a lighter weight tripod when hiking, but if it were really light I would worry about it getting upset to easily when painting. I have an aluminum Manfrotto tripod that's about 3lbs. I feel like it would fit the bill nicely. I've carried it around for an hour or two before and it hasn't bothered me too much. It was $100-125 a year ago and you can spend a lot more money than that on tripod. I also bought a cheap $20-30 plastic tripod off Amazon and it was not durable.
What are the dimensions of the easel? I'm wondering if it will fit in my small art pack.

Stablo has a very french website. You can translate to the english version at the top of the page. They ship the the US... but if you are looking to hold one before you buy... you are probably out of luck.

Very nifty setup! I like that it uses magnets. FYI, another use for a bronze binder clip, with the circular hole, is to hold your waterbrush. I attach the clip to my sketchbook or my sketchboard. Then I put the cap, open side up, in the round part. This allows me to set the waterbrush in it loosely when I need to switch brushes, etc . This works best with Pentel Aquash, their caps are the perfect size and sit firmly in the clip.

Maybe you can hot glue a extra one of your blue water containers to the brush holder that way the brushes or pens can sit safer and since the blue collapse watercup collapses it wouldnt be hard to transport with the who stablio set...just a thought....
