I'm 48,and I am thinking about moving and going to nursing school myself. This was a dream of mine when I was younger but life got in the way. I really am thinking about it. None of my siblings ever went to college and I want to see a better example for my 5 grandkids in the future.

@@ashleyjones3487 I'm thinking about moving to Memphis Tennessee and going up there. I have some cousins up there. I'll probably be the oldest one in class in the future. My daughter told me to get my cna license first after we move.

Did you take an accelerated LPN program ? Im interested in going to an vocational high school close to me but I’ve been hesitant because they said its soo hard to get tru, i been a CNA for the past 7 years and i think its about time for me.
Yes I did take an accelerated nursing program. It is indeed hard if you are not prepared to buckle down and stay focused. Many of us take this route to avoid waitlists but a community college is good as well. It’s slower paced than an accelerated nursing school.

I had the exact same experience related to math! That's why it took me until my mid to late 30's to pursue nursing school because I had to get over my math phobia. I too had a wonderful med math instructor in my current program. I'm sorry about your father and unborn child. It's the unfortunate curse that comes with attending nursing school. My instructor warned us about the wild and crazy things that happen while your in school to distract you from your success of completing the program.
Yessss!!! I am thankful for my math instructor, he has healed a part of me that I never knew I needed!
Congratulations! I started my LVN program last fall 2023 and I am currently in my 2/3 semester! Keep your enthusiasm and just be very smart and calculating as you navigate the program. And btw, I will be 41 when I graduate this Aug, lol 🥳

@@ashleyjones3487 hey girl! What are your hours? I’m so worried I won’t be able to go to school and work full time. I’m currently a ma with 7:30-4 hours. My program doesn’t start until August. I really have to figure out what kinda job I could get while working. Some people tell me I should just find a job working 3 12’s. I think maybe I should wait and see my class schedule and take it from there. I’m 35 and I’ve been putting off going back to school for years. I really don’t wanna miss this opportunity but they don’t make it easy for people working full time
@@KaylaHuggins88 I’d suggest working PRN and/or weekends. Working full time is possible but it will be extremely challenging. It will fly by so fast though, just make school a top priority and you will do fine ☺️
@@kw6724 thank you! I’ve decided to go next fall because I have things I need to get in order right now. My program starts in August and I have things goin on so I have to do what’s best for me. The more I think about it maybe I should have started come August
