That ur layout?
Yes it is!
Beautiful!
Shady Grove. nice choice
Excellent video Buddy
Big Choo Choo.
This is one of the better narrations regarding the triplex engines which never fail to fascinate newcomers to the field of model railroading. You might try to curate some better higher resolution illustrations of the triplex machines and include them as well. Thanks for the history profile. JAGRAF/X RAILROAD on the web 🚂
Thanks for the comment! I would like to have photos for the history segment be of higher resolution but both my computer and editing software refuse. Since I make no income off my videos I can’t afford to make an upgrade.
Great video! I will always consider this an MTH locomotive, though. No interest in this version.
Great job Trainmaster!
MTH tooling of this model is amazing, glad to see Lionel picked it up
Agreed! Better to be used than stored in some warehouse.
Great job with the review !
Thanks!
Great review. Great job and as always you never disappoint.
Thanks, I’m glad it met up to par!
nice video
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@TrainMaster04 your welcome
@@TrainMaster04 there is some interesting facts The Denver and Rio Grande Western's Triplex Locomotive was a proposed Triplex steam locomotive by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. The Denver and Rio Grande Western's Triplex Locomotive was proposed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works after they had built the very first three triplex locomotives for the Erie Railroad in 1914 and they were planning to build this locomotive for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. The reasons to why Denver and Rio Grande Western's Triplex Locomotive wasn't built was because of the issues with the Erie Railroad's P-1s and the Virginian Railway's XA when they couldn't go as fast as their top speed was about 10-15 mph, with the Virginian Railway's XA reaching 3-5 mph or even as high as 10 mph.
Cap’n dawg 🐕
The Erie Triplex: one of the most unusual and instantly recognizable experimental locomotives. It’s a shame they didn’t work well because the design philosophy is genuinely intriguing and the locomotive itself is beautiful if a bit ridiculous.
Those ES44s are sweet!
When will you make a review of the Lionel triplex?
It is currently in the works and I currently do not have an estimated release date as my time is dictated to college. Hopefully in the next few weeks progress will be swift.
They said it’s their “best yet” but where the hell is the flange on the center driving wheel??!! This really bothers me. If you are going to make an accurate and prototypical model, then DO IT. The real locomotive had flanges on all six driving wheels. The OG 700e ALSO had flanges on all six. If it was a larger wheel arrangement, then sure. Okay. But just about anyone buying this has a layout large enough to run a 4-6-4 with fully flanged drivers. It’s not a triplex. It’s a Hudson. Sorry. Rant over…But this just kind of rubs me the wrong way. I hate it when they can’t fully commit to the accuracy they pride themselves so much on.
I completely understand where you’re coming from. It is a shame especially since it’s fairly noticeable. However, there has to be some form of compromise. The OG 700e was offered with and without a center flange. This resulted in a minimum curve radius of O72 to O54 respectively. That would have been the case today if there was a center flange.
@@TrainMaster04 It would have been great if they offered it this time as well, having both versions available I mean.
@@itcamefromthe90s89 Yes, that would have been considerate to us the modeler.
Very good review with several interesting insights into features and Lionel history. Will be helpful when it comes time to choose or not to choose a 700e to order. Mr Muffin will come out with some custom runs, a US Army version I'll bet.
I am glad you found my video insightful!
Very great presentation. Your presentation and comments have always helped me in deciding most of my purchases. So grateful for your detail to fine points. Based on your comments could you let me know why the 5344 (2531270) is so special. Thanks for your feedback.
Awesome 😊
Nice lashup!
Thanks!
I really wish this thing existed in modern times today. Too bad the design flaws led it to being scrapped.
Would've been better if the preserved at least one of them, Maybe in this model type
What scale?
3 rail O scale.
Get ya a drink and sit down and just watch for hours 👍👍👋🇺🇸💯🍸
🆒
It appears that the Whistle Steam is blowing out of the Main Stack.
Yes, unfortunately. Since the stack and whistle smoke units use the same fluid basin the smoke passages are not isolated. As a result, the smoke takes the path of least resistance which is the stack. Most Lionel locomotives that have whistle steam near the stack usual have this problem.
@@TrainMaster04 that’s too bad. I would think that a design solution could be made.
@@michaelmejia3822 Indeed. The only solution currently is to have both units have separate basins but that would require more room in the front which is already limited.
Hope this is finding you & yours well. Great job thus far, everything is looking very cool and your scratch building looks good! Keep saving the scraps, as you said, “prices are going up, on everything” or something to that effect, LOL I’ve watched all of your shorts and kinda saw progress in those but I truly miss your history lessons, maybe more in the future? Ron
Thanks, you too! Yes, there are more history lessons planned for the future. It has been slow lately as there have been few new interesting locomotives to be delivered. The next video should be on Lionel’s new Vision Line Erie Triplex and, hopefully soon after the scale Polar Express.
I remember listening to this monster hit song by Bobby Bare when I was a kid back in 1963-64. Still luv hearing it all these years later.
Considering this is supposed to represent the GSMRR, do you think you can make a custom GSMRR 1. It's the green 4-2-4 "locomotive" (it's actually an unpowered car) that's been sitting outside on static display, and it used to be a replica of The Little Engine That Could.
I remember that “locomotive”, last I saw it, it was moved over away from the public. I have thought about making a GSMR 1702 but it’s difficult to find an O scale S160.
May I suggest a small dc capacitor for the lights in the passenger cars? Just enough to stop a total black out, but still flicker.
Now that’s a good idea! I know Lionel does that in there cars so I might need to look into something similar.
What a great job Trainmaster!
1993 Re-Release editions of them 6!
How do you change the marker light color with a cab 1 remote?
I believe that is unfortunately not possible.
LOVE it! Great model! Beautiful!
Thank you!
I LOVE this doubleheader freight set! Great locomotives!
Thank you very much!
Big boy 4014 is my brother steam he's the powerful locomotive on the universe he will not stop my legacy.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🌹🌹🌹🌹👑👑👑👑👑
Fantastic switching action. I just found your channel. Love your Atlas tracks! Soon as I find my Atlas tracks in the attic I’m switching over. What is the size of your layout? Also I just subscribed and will be watching . 👍☺️
Welcome aboard! I am glad you enjoyed my video. I cannot remember the exact measurements of the layout but I do believe I mentioned them in my layout tour video if that helps.
@@TrainMaster04 I will definitely check it out. Have a good evening.
@@TwistedMacGyversTrains You too!
Ground shaking!
How come the red light doesn't flash when it's parked😊
It is meant to be an emergency mars light which only comes on when the locomotive is put into emergency. A bit of a weird and unused feature but still there if wanted.
I think that is an awesome and beautiful experience! As long as you stay safely in the home, she was just checking things out with her cubs. No harm done to either the bears or the family. They were whispering and the bear didn’t even acknowledge them….just walked around and then left.
I wish there was a group that was responsible for planting and maintaining food that animals eat in the wild for the wild. There’s so much more we can do
Why are bears so human like sometimes 😂
It’s a mystery to me!
💨 nice
Hey Boo Boo-I'm smarter than the average bear!!!
