Enjoy the aerial scenery of Ilha Terceira.
The island is welcoming, accessible, safe, with a mild climate, full of legends, traditions and an enviable gastronomic wealth.
Its biodiversity is enormous and there is a lot to do and discover. In addition to the stunning wealth and beauty of the natural landscapes, the island is known for having a unique heritage. Palaces, palaces, convents and churches in Renaissance splendor, forts, forts, gardens, landscaped, streets and alleys full of life and colors, are the reason why the central area of the city of Angra do Heroísmo was included in the list of World Heritage by UNESCO in 1983. The kindness, joy and hospitality of the people of Terceira will surprise you. This will be an experience that will be etched in your memory.

No Swimming Today: Refugo
Refugo Bathing Area
Baía do Refugo, located in the parish of Porto Judeu, 10.6 km from the city of Angra do Heroísmo, was once a fishing boat landing site. After being converted into a bathing area, the area became very popular, mainly due to its semi-natural pool, which is excellent for children but also for adults. In fact, due to its depth and the natural renewal of its waters, with the alternation of the tides, there are always more people in the pool than those swimming in the sea. Access to both the pool and the sea is always via stairs.

The Serretinha Bathing Area, unlike the rest of the municipality, is not protected by a bay or any port structure, but on a lava platform, known as Fajã do Fisher, which is around 3,000 years old. Although access to the sea is not the easiest, and the waves are not very strong, it has nevertheless become a popular bathing spot for people from neighbouring parishes, who see some privacy and prox...

Ponta dos Biscoitos. Here the coast is marked by many deep breaches and coves, often creating beautiful natural swimming pools. Platforms to provide sunbathing areas and steps were built to make some of the pools easily accessible for everybody who feels tempted by an invigorating swim in the clear waters. The Calheta dos Biscoitos, the largest of these pools, is near the town’s tiny harbour, s...
