The green on green and beads is not my style. But I'll be using your wooden camouflage piece idea. So thanks for the vid ❤

Love the bamboo idea. How many sticks would you need for the tallest of panels?

So helpful, I've used this video in two apartments now! A tip for others, on the newest set of ikea curtains I bought, the number of loops between each "dead zone" has changed from 16 to 14, but the number of dead zones and total length has stayed the same. Therefore the loops must have gotten wider. I couldn't figure out the math to make sure, but I moved the x one loop closer to the dead zone, and didn't change anything else, and that seemed to work!

Like this comment if you are a guy, and found this video really helpful, but just stabbed the pins into any holes just to get the curtains up 😀

Very helpful video! Appreciate it. Some questions regarding the soaked bamboo dowels- do you insert into holes while still wet from the soaking? Im assuming yes? Was going to insert some wood glue into the holes first for added strength, didnt know if wet bamboo would effect the glue drying. Additionally, was also hoping to paint/stain the project after all the pieces are together. So would have to wait for bamboo to dry fully? Any idea how long that takes aftgr an overnight soak? Thanks again!

In the early 90s, I used plenty of Ivar for my flat in Vienna (Austria). I moved to Taipei, Taiwan, mid 90s and then Ikea opened, so I got again Ivar for my home and then for my studio. Late 90s I moved to Barcelona (Spain) and made a 7 meters long desk out of Ivar and also used the bookshelves as a room divider. In Valencia (Spain), my Ivar became first: storage shelving for my brother's shop and then Bookshelves for a friend's house. In London, I decided against repeating Ivar again and instead went for Billy. But now that I am planing my return to Valencia, I am designing an Ivar home office. The tip about the bamboo sticks, I used it once so books wouldn't fall at the sides. It works great. I had complete forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder.

Lovely video. Top tips here are painting the metal side pieces and using soaked (bendy) bamboo. I especially liked the white and natural makeover.

So I have two guitar amplifiers, four Hi-Fi speakers, a Hi-Fi stack of separates, a synthesizer, a drum machine, a TV, a collection of LEGO models, around 200 CDs and around 200 vinyl records and they have inhabited an eyesore hodge-podge mish-mash for too long. Someone suggested Ivar and the modular aspect appeals to me and is being delivered Sunday and my bamboo rods arrived today, Thanks to your inspiration it seems I shall soon have my 'Music Wall' at long last. The only problem is now I will have to learn properly how to actually PLAY my guitars and I don't think my wife is going to appreciate my practicing! 😉😂 Many thanks!

Just wanted to say a HUGE Thank you for this video! Saved me such a head ache on pleating and hanging my Ikea curtains!! Also - I didn’t have pins to hold the Riktig curtain hooks in so I used my small binder clips and they got the job done! Thanks so much!

That's a great idea - I've been umming and ahhing about doing the bamboo sides (The sides are my biggest bother as well). I've also been thinking about getting some particle board or some other thin board, cut to fit between the frame, and then nailing in on the top and bottom and middle side bars to make it look slightly less open. Haven't tried it yet though.

Or fabric/rice paper between the bamboo, or not. I suggested fabric to my mom, but she picked beads.

I love that you took the time to problem solve this! Just wondering why you didn’t get the ceiling mount option instead of the wall mount. Especially since it’s a single track, ikea definitely has them for Vidga!

To keep the pleating hooks from falling out I did this with 4 prong hooks. If you slide 2 prongs into the X section it stays pretty snug.
