Exploring an Abandoned Pub in West Sussex 4K
Filmed in 4K 60FPS Videoed in West Sussex.
It was originally built as a railway hotel for the adjoining Baynards Station which last saw a train in 1965. This remote country pub was split into a lounge bar, with a restaurant off it, and an area containing a pool table. Darts was also played. There was a large collection of memorabilia, including railway collectibles. It was beside the Downs link path and cycle way, which largely follows the old railway line. The Baynards brewery was set up at the pub in February 1996 but this closed in 2000. The pub itself closed in 2009 and has sat abandoned ever since.

@@T_The_Asogian it was a beautiful building , I think I was about 12 and in primary 7 when we went the trip from Monday to Friday , and I’m 62 now so well over 50 years ago
Looks like they closed at the end of the day and was going to be open the next day but something happened and they never reopened on the next day

Great shots! I also got some footage for my next music video, before the 'entrance' was sealed. Wish I could go back. An incredible space, and shameful that it's being left like this and not put to use by the community... I hope it is saved and doesn't get turned into flats.

I went there today, it was quite scary and I did not went inside any of the buildings. I saw that there was some work is going on to the church side there.
Might be due to the fire that happened last year inside the school. It is sad as the school building was so beautifully built. T

European center for creativity 🙄 Bollocks! No wonder it went kaput! If I had investment money to put into this, I'd turn it into a wedding party place for rental and advertise it towards couples across the world. I am sure rich Chinese couples would love to celebrate union in such a romantically bucolic setting. I would just renovate the interior with a reasonably priced contemporary style, while keeping a wood panneled lobby strictly decorated with Victorian antiques as the house's centerpiece.

@@T_The_Asogian it does give it a certain kind of feel but then again I suppose it's what is seen and what is edited. For me it's a remarkable place, would love to visit. Considering the school closed in 2008 it's surround have decayed at a remarkable rate, granted its down to vandalism and theft etc but I do wonder what I was like when it was full with residents and it was busy. It would be a great place to be at. The fact that the neglect is so apparent is staggering and it does show that a lot of people don't care. Heard from 1 guy and he said it's not that bad and all they need is some tlc, to me it looks far worse but on the other hand there have been places run down brought back to former glories with the right people taking over the properties and actually wanting them to look good. The landlords in place ain't bothered which is odd to me considering it's their money lost at the end of the day, so now they are thinking well the council want to demolish the place let's fleece as much as we can. Such a shame

The Brewer and Baker was my go to pub back in the late 70s and 80s. Run by Harry and Joan Hill the most fantastic hosts where we had the most fantastic of nights there. It was a place where work colleagues could relax and have a good time, and we did. They were the good old days and I miss them it’s just a shame to see what was a home to many in such a state. Thanks for the video though it brought back many memories.😎🍺🇬🇧
