Firman Tri Fuel Generator T07571
Quick Review and Start up with Natural gas. Purchased at Costco for $899 plus tax.
BTW.....I know CO2 doesn’t have a “smell.” Don’t know why I said that when I was trying to explain the exhaust smell. LOL

Cheap plastic swiitches that break and fail, used mine 6 times over the last 3 years...junk big fail Ferman!
We have used the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
Cool video. Thanks for sharing! Too bad this model isn't available still at Costco.
This helped me out so much thank you.
Thanks for the review! I am new to using generators; can you keep this generator in storage and for how long without using it? Do you need to turn it on now and then?
Sounds loud. Any idea on the decibels? Will it disturb the neighbors at night?
I read people complain about the loud noise this unit makes. My main concern more than the noise is dirty power it apparently provides. At 11%-14% THD, I'm concerned electronics will get damaged.
I fight and fight to start mine on natural gas. I even purge the line before connecting.
Great review, I have the same Firman 9400 Watts Tri Fuel Geneator th-cam.com/video/3WfZWBT105I/w-d-xo.html
Just have my at Costco for $700
I have a question hopefully someone can help I have the tri fuel bought over a year ago from Costco I only used the gasoline one But now the generator is boging down and dying under a load so I tried the propane part it ran Long enough to Brew coffee then boged down and died Filters clean sparkplug good I live off-grid so its used every other day for 3 hours the rest of my power is solar . Any help would be greatly appreciated Marie
Followup; Success; I let it sit and clear for a half hour to re-read the manual. I topped up the oil; says not to check it with the dipstick screwed in, so it took another 1/2 C, moved all the dials to NG, and moved the choke to run. It took 3 tries of 3 sec,(electric start) and it started and ran smoothly, no misses or stumbling.( noisy bugger)
Just purchased the T08072 tri fuel Firman, same Amazon 1/2" 24' hose, quick dis connect , won't fire up. Checked and double checked everything, no leaks, both dials set to NG. Small item in the manual, prob doesn't mean anything ,for NG, it says if starting electric skip to #13, which says move the choke to the run position, however in Raul's video he starts it on choke and it fired ok.Any suggestions appreciated...note; I have a quick disconnect on both ends of the hose, (actually the first one is on the source)...should I try connecting the hose directly into the generator minus the hose quick connect? I can't imagine what difference that would make.
Can it produce 240v? Or just 120v? And is it noisy?
240 VAC. Yes, noisy. It's big.
I'm definitely looking at getting one for the house. Just lost power for 9 days. Never again.
what is the size of the hose? 1/2"?
5w 30 o 10w30
Que aceite usa
this would be awesome for a tiny house, cabin or RV!
Thanks for posting. I just bought this model at Costco. What are the specs on the long gas hose you bought on Amazon? I need to hook this up to my gas line as well
I paid $800 at Costco as they just marked it down. I have the same exact plan with the same exact money saving reason. Considering buying another.
Just bought it at Costco :)
Thanks for doing it authentically. I am saddened because I couldn’t secure a natural gas paytap.
I paid $2000 for my generator and the install of a 50amp switch, this is the total for both
Awesome review thank you very much for the natural gas review since I am also looking for an alternative to a Generac. And I think I’ve settled on this one. 🍻
Thanks for posting...I own the same one. Question: Did you purchase a "low pressure" natural gas hose from Amazon? Thanks!
That thing is LOUD. I'm looking for something that can take BIOGAS that can be used all the time.
I spent half a day trying to get this generator start light to come on and get the engine to turn over. I checked the battery, read the 3 different directions that came with the product, tested the battery (13.4V). I gave up and went to bed. The next day as I was reconnecting the battery that I pulled and put on my tester, I noticed the M/F connector that was zip tied together, (just to the left of the battery cables). WTF! Nothing in each of the 3 sets of directions instructed the user to 1. 'cut the zip tie, connect the M/F plug next to the battery. START WITH THAT! I wonder how many had that same issue.
I just bought mine yesterday and haven't fired it yet, luckily I did see this not connected but I could see how it could be easily missed.
So no issues with a 1/2" NG hose? I see the price really jumps to a 3/4". I'm considering buying a 12' 1/2" and adding a QC from my BBQ.
Loud.
How's it holding up after all this time?
can you link the amazon plug
Raul, very useful. What size hose is it? 3/8" 1/2" or 3/4". i just bought one and need about 35ft hose, i am worried i wont get the flow down that length. The handbook says we need 101 cubic feet/hr natural gas, i think i need 3/4" to get sufficient flow down that length.
Go big, remember a lot is good, more is better, too much is just right. Thats a long way to go Natural gas is very low pressure, so you need volume.
Bought mine last year at Costco on sale for 750! Didnt really get a chance to use it. I live in Louisiana, and we a have a storm headed this way now. We ready to go!
Y’all be safe out there! 🙏
Well you sure going to use that now
How good this thing handles AC windows units at the same time?
@@josec3823 SE Louisianan here. Bought one (*) of these after the storm. I ran three 5000 btu window units at once along with several tower fans this week. As an experiment, I started them all at once by just flipping on the main breaker on the unit. It didn't bog down in the slightest. I was running it on gasoline. * First unit was a dud. I had to return it for exchange. Out of the box, it would start and run for 5-6 seconds, then die. Furman phone tech got me running by having me disconnect the VFO behind the control panel. Even then, it was only outputting 46 Hz. I had to max out the idle screw on the carb to adjust the frequency up to 60 Hz, but it dropped under load. The tech had shipped a replacement VFO, but a second call to Firman over shipping concerns connected me with tech Daniel, who caught on to something the first tech may have missed with the low frequency and arranged for an exchange.
@@Pylodictisolivaris thank you.. I'm from New Orleans
I bought that same hose. Did you use the Teflon tape for the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter to fit in the generator?
Which size hose?
@@henrylara8876 1/2 inch .. comes with the 3/8 adapter to fit the generator.. just wondering if the adapter needs to be taped on there … hopefully not cuz I want to bounce back and forth from ng to lpg
Ever get the chance to do a load test ? I just bought the same generator .. I’m having electrician and plumber set Up my 50amp inlet and natural gas tap next week. Im curious as to what all you can run on natural gas .. being that it has the least power output. Im hoping I can run my ac and heater .. along with a few lights and a tv
Just bought one at Costco for $900. The 30amp plug and generator interconnect was $990 for install by an electrician. $1000 to get the gas line stubbed over a few feet with two valves. One for the generator and one for my grill. Excited to have this. I'm sure that now this is installed, it won't snow or storm this winter. 🤣
what size gas line line are you using to feed it? can you run the bbq at the same time?
@@dakotamar45acp I have a 3/4 inch black pipe. Yes my meter can handle 250 CFH. The pipe downsizes to 1/2 inch to the grill.
@@CyberMikes thanks, i have 1/2 at the grill and will use that feed. may try a Y connector to see if there is enough gas at that point to run both bbq and generator, rather than running another feed.
@@CyberMikes how long you can run it non stop using natural gas ?
@@dakotamar45acp I believe it’s a 3/4 line then it tapers down to 1/2 for the BBQ. My gas meter is rated for 275,000 cf/h. There is no way I’ll be using that much gas.
Ok, yea. That's pretty badass. Thanks for sharing!!!
Is the 24' gas line hookup coming out of the generator 3/8 or 1/2? Do you have a link for it on amazon?
I believe the gas line is 3/8 coming out of the generator and his house has the 1/2 inch quick connect. Depends on your home.
Our power went out and my dad started the generator the first time but when he went to work my mom said power was back on and cut the generator off without checking and we did not know how to fix it and turn it back on so I went on TH-cam and searched what we needed saw the generator we have and clicked went outside my mom was proud😁
You will be booted out of the naber hood .. Loud
Does or has anyone hooked this Generator to run their whole house?? How??
L14-30P connector through a 8/3 cord into a SS2-50R plug into a SS2-50P inlet into 6/3 wiring into a 50 amp breaker with interlock on the panel.
Wound I he plugging this into the 50amp plug in on my Generator or the 30amp??
@@c.juneau410 The 50 amp 14-50R would be better. I'm choosing to connect with the 30 amp L14-30R/P connector because they are way more common (30 amp generators are way more common), and I can step down to a 120v L5-30P connector with less adapters. I'm not going with this generator though because the THD is too high (over 10%).
in Florida it sells for $499.00
You'd think that a reviewer would show what it can run. But all you did was to turn it on. How about throwing in all switches to the house and tell us how many things it runs? How about turn on an AC to see if it runs it? This review was piss poor.
He did not have the generator interconnect installed. Only then would he be able to plug into home.
Do your own research Boris.
My man, Is that an hour meter? ... 4:38 (Can't see it all that clear....)
Volts, hertz(I think) and hour. 3 presses toggles through
Get a mini battery maintainer at Walmart for 20 bucks. Its made by the everstart line I've had 2 going strong for years now on my 4 Wheelers and now for my firman 9400 tri fuel.
More info on the battery maintainer please.
@@aagalani I've been using this for my 4 Wheeler and this exact firmman 9400 tri fuel generator. The cool thing about this one is it has bolt on cables to the battery with a easily detachable plug easy peasy no cheesy 😁 www.walmart.com/ip/BLACK-DECKER-BM3B-6V-and-12V-Battery-Charger-Maintainer-BM3B/21721663
these are a great and affordable option depending on your needs and budget but there are a lot of trade off compared to an emergency standby generator.
I had a virtual consultation with generac yesterday .. Almost 12k for a 18kw .. I was almost sold but looking through and seeing all these videos and stuff these generacs failing ..having to have workers come by all the time and fix them .. I’d be pretty pissed off if after paying $12k the generator not work for me when I need it ! I know everything has a chance of failing at some point but a 2k let down is easier to swallow than 10k .. little 1-2 hour outages I’m not worried about .. I’m more concerned about the grid going down again like it did here in Houston a few months ago
@@sgjesse13 go Kohler, they are known for making the “cleanest power” meaning the are the best for sensitive electronics. Drive behind any hospital or government building and all you see is kohler or cumming. My electrician flat out told me he will not install Generac‘s anymore because they have so many problems and he’s tired of being blamed for it.
@@EnthusiastsGarage makes sense .. apparently the new generacs are night and day better than the older ones .. still skeptical though..I’m going to have to look into Kohler .. thanks
@@sgjesse13 here’s the video on mine th-cam.com/video/9e3nIRvtWvg/w-d-xo.html
@@EnthusiastsGarage nice! How long do you anticipate it lasting? And what’s the warranty like ? I see generac has upped their warranty from 5years to 7years.
VERY Helpful, just bought the same or very similar from Costco her in CA. didn't come with the ng/natural gas hose. Just ordered a 12 footer. It is my rookie understanding that a longet run like a 24 foot hose like you have may make for some pressure issues esp if same line as other appliances, The closer to the "meter" the better. The review is missing one thing. noise level. Seems to be loud as funk? in an emergency isn't a big dealio, in other sitches fellow campers or neighbor's might rightly so send it to the cornfield.
Don't underestimate the weight of this dude. This thing is SO heavy I would need to winch it up on a truck bed. I just don't see this used for camping unless it's on a separate trailer you haul behind your rig. But I supposed some might do that. Yep, it's noisy though.
Noisy!
How many tons is your ac and did you have to add a soft start to the ac ? thats amazing you can run your ac unit and 2 fridges off natural gas with this generator.
I have a 3 ton central AC unit, I had him install a hard start kit. It starts right up. It wouldn't start my old system. But it was very old. I had this one installed about one month ago. All my stuff in my house is gas, my old one was very old. Remember you never have everything in your house on at the same time. It runs everything in my house.
