I needed to save the changes (mean changing the audio driver) to my config file. Otherwise it was always set back to the default driver once I quit/restart RetroArch.

So far, it seems that nvidia has only removed the gamestream app from the shield. I have continued to use, build, and rebuild computers with the newest nvidia drivers, and nvidia has not removed the gamestream function from the driver as of yet. My guess is they won't as they rely on it for geforce now to work. So I will continue to use GFE and Moonlight until it stops working. Sunshine is still too big od a pita to setup.

Thank you so much. This issue has been irritating me for MONTHS, and fixing it was this simple. I use Sunshine more than most people (lol) with several Windows/ Linux laptops and Android devices including the Retroid Flip and Anbernic RG353M. This problem was only occurring on my most powerful gaming laptop, but not happening on any other PC from Sunshine. I can finally get back to the streaming action without having to turn Retroarch off and on, thank goodness. Liked and subbed.
