That midnight special is awesome. They are releasing new episodes of that series all the time on TH-cam and I’m always demanding to release the ABBA stuff and they only released the lip syncing dancing Queen, instead of the live vocals of the rest of them.

Becky, I think ABBA performed SOS on Don Kirchner’s rock concert as well in 1975, but I think they might’ve been just lip-synching but I could be wrong

I once asked one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live, Laraine Newman about the ABBA appearance. She told me they were very nice, but the only one who really talked to them was Chevy Chase, she said allegedly he was hot for Agnetha.

My favorite version of SOS by far is the Japanese TV special version because they’re using a huge big band behind them and it has such a big sound to it. It makes me really wish that I could’ve seen them live because they really tried to replicate the sound and they could reallyexcite the audience.

brilliant idea and excellent compilation, thank you very much "S.O.S." is my favorite ABBA song, and one of the ones they performed the most times (I think only "Waterloo" surpasses it in quantity) My 3 favorite versions: Musikladen 1975 Australia 1977 Japan 1978 and I must especially point out that of the solo version of Agnetha, I like her verses in Swedish much more than in the original in English by ABBA if there is an upcoming video, I suggest precisely with "Waterloo" multilanguage

The Abba with snowman drawing is from what music video?

Amaazing!! The maturity in most of these demos, particularly those sung by Bjorn and/or played by Benny on his Yamaha GX-1... This makes for a much more complex music for the musical. More contemporanean, rather than classical compositions. The Deal (no deal) demo being a very clear example, but there are plenty more. If I remember well, better exemplified by those demos of songs that were not present at the time of the concept album. Bravo! Such bring solidity to a higher level, already present at the original work, but definitely enhanced in these works. CHESS will shine brighter in future versions. It already demands for a study on gathering those musical compositions into a completer musical compilation, on a dedicated book. Including variations. This could become a quite good basis for those companies willing to go deep into this magnus opus.

When this game was shutdown it left a huge hole in Webkinz for me. It was truly never the same after that

Every time I watch this video I don't forget its context and I think 1) It is August 1975, and ABBA was not yet massive, that's why the girls Frida and Agnetha were releasing their solo albums in Swedish 2) Agnetha looks radiant, open, happy, her face conveys it (including some puckering of her nose and lips) 3) one month later, due to another song with Agnetha on lead vocals (S.O.S.), it will be the beginning of ABBA's devastating series of global hits

Good choice, a very nice song. Benny plays the harpsichord well with beautiful arpeggios. In the live version, he replaced the harpsichor with organ.
