Made a few more tweaks from last video going back out, hoping for the 65 mile an hour mark so close. At the end came back, pulled the data off the speed control to see what it’s saying. For tuning in the future.

I finally got it up and over 60 miles an hour yes running a XLx2 speed control just for the data and using that for tuning. Still running stock motor, Sorry about the end I was extremely happy getting to that point. I’ve been working at that for a while. Finally, some hard work paying off

New motor for the Recoil 2 26 to test out

Stock motor was Re wired (re wound) to lower Kv rating of motor from 2300 to 1910kv. Trying lower Kv of a motor to see if this would fair better then stock motor of 2300kv. Ran on 4s and with stock esc. last video was speed runs and what props this motor can handle. Best speed was 60mph In last video.

    So, you cut out the pan and reinforced the hull with a carbon fiber inlay? Do you have a video of that process? I’ve considered doing that but would like to know how much I’m biting off! Thanks.

      @@artpeck9272 no I don’t have a video of that process. This is something I did along time ago. Pretty straightforward as you cut out the pan. Along the opening then clean up the inside using sandpaper getting the hull for the inlay material. Then mounting the hardware and electronics.

      @@mad_lizard that’s what I figured. I’m thinking I’d need to leave a little of a flange … 1/4” ? …. To support the hatch. What about floatation in the forward sponsons? The 1 layer of carbon or would do 2?

      @@artpeck9272 at least leave a half inch for the hatch give you a little extra to work with for the hatch. One layer of the fiber is just fine. That’s what I did. 3k fiber

      @@Mindcoach1on1 yes I did. The XlX2 uses 8mm connectors as the 160amp esc has 6.5 mm bullets

      @@IRONCLADRC I agree it’s right on the edge of blowing over the faster this boat goes. More tuning I think can help that. Similar to the sonic 36 when that thing came out and look at it a couple years now all the different option parts and people are getting the speed off of. This is just the beginning. Wanting to say thank you to you because you’re the one that really started it with some of the propeller choices and I’m continuing on the work. Thank you. BG4L

    I am a basher, 64 mph with motor temp and ESC temp good , I think that’s good enough

      @@asiringoringo1 I would agree as well as a good enough set up. Quick and low temperatures. I set my self up for a challenge of the 65 mark to hit for my personal best. Unknown territory of what this boat can do. With the amperage and motor temperatures of where they’re at right now, I think there’s a little bit more in this set up that can go. One more propeller on the way for one more shot. 🙏.

    Dude this is not a 80 mile a hour boat it's meant to take it out on a windy day and bash it or run it behind a real boat and jump it off the wake but it's your boat you can do what you want with it

    Whats the stock props size and can i use a octura x450? Or its gonna blow the motor ?

      @@cyberlife514 x450 is way to big of a prop. The stock prop size I believe is 4215 prop. X450 is a 50 mm diameter prop. It’s too big for the boat. You would want to try a Octura x445 or a Abc 1717-45-17 prop

      @@cyberlife514 the ABC 1717 will cavitate upon takeoff, but once on plane it will be fast. Should be a 70 mph prop. X445 will have no cavitation grate for takeoff as fast as 1717, but it should get you in the 60s

      @@asiringoringo1 No I’m running a different propeller. The Dasbota propeller is still the fastest prop for the boat.

    Im member off a boat club. Those guys only run gasoline. Went few times there. What i noticed is they are working a lot on their boats... I feel like it takes multiple the times to run them compared to electric. On the app group then this guy blew a cilinder or block or bought a new one , asking for parts, etc, etc...But you will take that journey, so we will find out if that's the case. Maybe my image from it is totally wrong...

      @@peteroosterhoff8850 that might be part of it and may happen, it’s different type of racing of what I’m after. I’m also a member of a boat club as well. Racing for three seasons now. so I’m trying something new and different and see what happens. Gas Will be a new animal for me and something to add to my collection. I will still race electric and have the one gas boat.

      @@mad_lizard i understand what your saying. The guys off that club run quite often too, so that was my first goal to check it out and see if it maybe was something to buy too. But besides the "wrenching" also found out the two don't really mix together (electric mono2 with these huge boats), so i decided to let it for what it is and run mostly myself. But racing (or running with multiple guys) is cooler, that's for sure....

    I've done both asked electric and gas you're gonna love gas because you can run so long for practice much longer than an FE Boat

    I have the same prop balancer and have sharpened a couple props. It's nice when it's done but seems like a real pain doing it.

    I just picked up the SW2. It came from the factory with a 48mm prop, almost burned my boat down. Im new to boats so didnt know that thing wasnt supposed to be on there.

    Turn the shaft with the prop on and it will be unbalanced again.

      Turn the shaft how? And why? What shaft, the balancer shaft? "It" will be unbalanced, what is it? The balancer shaft or the prop? Assuming you mean turning an unbalance prop shaft a quarter turn by hand, that wouldn't add nor remove any material from the prop, so the prop would remain unchanged and remain balanced, Right? Assuming you mean an unbalanced shaft, it just remains unbalanced, it can't be unbalanced "again". If "it" is the prop, how would a turned shaft have added or removed copper from the prop? 20 mins later of study and I can't understand your comment, but I wish to understand.

    I bet you can get some more speed if you run the 9500 green label packs from Smc. We’ve done the same test you did with the same batteries and we got more speed with the SMC batteries. Nice test by the way

Then going to retest with going with a 2.5 inch long tabs. Seeing what the differences. 1/2 inch long then stock. So far seeing a big improvement.

      @@scaleworksRC she’s a big boat and handled some of the waves quite well. She definitely does need some more room.
