    You’re right about many things and I really annoyed your commentary. But I can tell you that after roughly 3000 hours in game, and still loving it, I’m totally sick of the death penalty. I’m ok with dying a lot, but the loss of progression just gets tedious. So finally this latest play through, I’ve turned it down. Left everything else normal. But waking up with at least what you had on you and activated is a joy. I’m 68, man. I don’t have time to keep recovering like that! 😂

    For me - Moder wasn't that bad _after_ I accidentally took her to a nearby forest (while a tactical retreat) and all golems and werewolfs stopped killing me. Yagluth though... I kinda hated that guy. I had took most of my tamed loxes to him - and all they did was like a fifth of his health plus like a minute for me to figure out what he does. And then it was an insanely weird party where I was running left and right (I'm a light armour guy), dying from time to time, portaling back, crafting a helmet to try having a bit of a chance. And only when I figured the way to cheese him was when I could finally make him significantly more damage that he was regenerating. IDK, I love the game, but I hate the bosses (except the first one). They are too chaotic to me and you cannot reliably prevent them to cause you damage, which I always hate.

    as cringe as this feels to say, i am basically valheim god, ive been fortunate enough to get a large extended friend group into the game, and every time, im accused of cheating in some way. to this end theyve even had me reset my character and start from scratch valheim is as easy as youd like it to be, especially with the addition of the mage class in the fairly recent present the deep arcane secrets to how im nearly deathless in valheim is, max stamina food, understanding what enemies are weak to, and dodge rolling / parrying theres a number of things to cover so ill try to be as brief as possible with each one, starting with stamina foods health is meaningless when stamina is king, when you run out of stamina you will get overrun, so unless you want to carry 10 stamina potions and 20 tasty meads (something i actually did do in pre nerf ashlands because holy shit, the way there were so many enemies i couldnt see the beech was absurd.) i have even tried playing heavy into health, but the second youre out of stamina combat stagnates and youre on the back foot every time, praying you dont get wiped out in two hits, regardless of how much health and block force you have, so 3 stamina foods is always the go to, it enables you to always have the ability to fight, to parry and to dodge enhancing this i use the fenris armor, the speed boost is a liberating feeling that even hardcore mages in the community like "professionalmage" (check out his youtube hes hilarious) admit is one of the most fun valheim experiences. and this comes from someone who hates playing the "warrior" weapons, usually i would use the askvin set, and the cape from the ashlands, but i just love how the fenris armor looks far too much to give it up moving into weapons, i am always carrying 1, a bow with 100/200 arrows, 1 sledge hammer (blunt damage is the most universally strong damage types in the game) and an atgeir (same story, and the aoe from middle mouse is also incredibly strong, i soloed the queen with nothing but an atgeir to clear ads and a mistwalker) always know what youre going to fight and bring the correct weapons for it. in the mistlands for example i used krom a lot to deal with seekers out in the wilds, one parry and a stab to the rear (enabled by stamina foods and the fenris armor speed boost) and i could kill a seeker in two simple uses of the mouse3 attack, of course, i carried other weapons just go to the valheim damage wiki and it tells you what is weak or immune to what, and by making an effective "loadout" for each biome, you dominate without even having to try, especially with three stamina foods. even deathsquitos are a joke when you just use an atgeirs mouse3 attack on them, i have rarely died to them since my first playthrough and then of course, you have your bread and butter, learning about dodging and parrying, i mean if you really want to you can just dodge roll a deathsquito attack, making them a joke you cripple yourself by not learning. i mean for the people who use max health armor a sword and a shield, they all go for a round shield, for example there are three types of shields in the game, tower shields which are the best for blocking (which is what these people always do) round shields that are a strange / useless (in my opinion) mix between that and the next type of shield. and then finally, the best type of shield, of which there are only three, bucklers, which give you a higher parry bonus than most weapons, essentially meaning enemies you parry are stunned for longer these are my "secrets", i promise you if you spend a little time learning about these parts of valheim the game becomes massively more enjoyable, i hope this helps someone, good luck

    I have played Valheim for a very long time. I found that everytime I have had to restart, the best way to find the Yagluth altar is to sail around just far enough from the shore to not attract skeeters. This is no small task, but the advantage to doing a lot of sailing is being able to plan landing zones and portal bases. I think that's why I like coming back, the exploration is fun! Great video!

    Wait till you get to the Ashlands. Proper fucking piss take. I remember the days when the swamps were terrifying solo then the plains wanted to have a word with me. Valheim is a game I love and hate. I honestly can do without its shitty stamina/rested system that seems like it isn't balanced right. 17+ rested great food and my stamina regen is still too slow? I swear this game detects that you haven't died in awhile and just throws everything at you. Also I can't stand that the higher your stats/skills are the more they drop on death. It's absolutely brutal how many levels you lose and building them back up again takes longer which makes grinding and building stats/skills pointless. Stamina consumption is another thing that annoys me as some things take so much stamina.

    Awesome video man, really fun to watch. The swamp is a pain even if you know what to do, then comes mauntain and that is also hard but not that hard as the swamp. The plains is really fucking hard if you dont use root armor chest agianst deathsqitos and always, ALWAYS have fire resistans potions on you. BUT after the plains you come to mistlands and that fucking area is a pain even for experienced players and I really recommend to disable to lose evrything on you then you die there, Mistlands and even ashlands after that are brutaly unforgiving.. Its hard AF even with friends.

    I play Valheim with a group of four, which can kind of make boss fights easier, as the bosses can't attack all of us at the same time. I remember that Moder focused on one of us for almost the whole time. This made the fight horrible for this player but the rest of us could attack her pretty easily. Yagluth involved a couple of deaths but we managed. Overall, the Elder and Bonemass were actually the hardest for us so far - not because they are harder but because we were less experienced and didn't come fully prepared. Underestimating enemies is probably the main cause of death in this game. On the other hand, we are now in the Mistlands and actually struggling.

    It's pronounced like "Moo There". Long o, soft d. And means mother. Which you probably guessed. The guy talking about Mauder or Mohder down below is close, but still off. Take it from an actual swede. TIp: Workbenches and torches prevents spawns.

    • @Herr_Gamer

      Wouldn’t the old norse, even east norse, be closer to mau-ther? Modern swedish pronounciation would have a moo- sound, but I’m not sure about this case

    • @Eirath
      @Eirath 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Herr_Gamer Well, "fuling" is modern swedish and hardly old norse, so... And I don't think old norse would spell it Moder either. Like they would use the "th"-sound, (the |> rune) in first place, so a "Mother" or "Mather" spelling would actually be closer to old norse also, not "Moder".

    • @Herr_Gamer
      @Herr_Gamer 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ true, it’s hard to gauge exactly where the line of pronounciation and time starts and stops. A lot of the names are clearly old norse inspired, but as you say fuling and asksvin certainly isn’t. Then again the game also doesn’t have a hard historical basis either, going from the stone age to hydraulic one-man battering rams and all

    • @Eirath
      @Eirath 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Herr_Gamer As a swede myself I am guessing Irongate used all intended directly mythological names fairly intact. Valheim, Odin, Hugin, Munin etc. But for their own designs or contemporary stuff they've just gone haywire and have hardly bothered. Bonemass is english straight up which is quite a weird choice, while Hallon and Blåbär is modern swedish straight off. So my assumption is that Moder and Fader, as they are not actual mythological figures, are just named in swedish. Honestly don't think they've done especially much research, especially ethymological such, beyond what you can find in an elementary school history book really.

    • @Herr_Gamer
      @Herr_Gamer 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ yeah bonemass always kinda bothered me. Kinda clashes with the whole thing. Moder and fader is the same in norwegian (even if fader is used more as a priestly/holy term) so in that sense, moder could be pronounced phonetically by itself. Honestly it might all be speculation untill the devs say otherwise

If you just once run in a group of draugers with a 2star archer on your first time in the swamp , you'll die several times just to get your stuff back and im not even gonna talk about how frustrating it is if a 2star troll joins your first solo elder fight. Obviously it also depends on skill but what u gonna do with a lvl1 bronze eitgeir against a 2star troll

    Ah the death spirals in Valheim.. nothing like it lol (literally rage quit one play through cuz I died in the ocean lol) Edit: I play with the portal setting too, along with some mods, I love Valheim but mods are.. great.

    It's Mauder (phonetic) - Means mother. I've been calling it Mohder (phonetic) for years but was wrong. Every biome feels different than the last. Mistlands is a bit tough to get in, but once you find a dungeon to battle in, you should be smooth sailing. I find The Queen to be one of the easiest bosses to kiil so you probably won't feel so frustrated taking her on.

      Nah you were actually more correct with your first pronunciation. ^_^ It's a long "O" in Swedish so it would be more like "Mooder" in English.

      The Queen was by far the hardest boss for me to beat. How was it easy for you?

      @@redmadness265 The queen moves pretty slow. I could always hop off the side of the balcony (feather cape) to take a break. I could just walk backwards and hit her with a staff for a bit then go to the other side and repeat. I could swap to a bow if my eitr started to run low.

    It was the night after Christmas and all through the house, the creatures were stirring and it wasn't a mouse... They ain't called Deathsquitos for nothin! Plains teaches you the futility of the naked death marker run. Onward to the Mistlands! (remember to take your light!... you'll need it)

      Indeed never smart to be naked but at times you get lucky and that's what I tried... Too bad it failed lol

    At this point why don't the developers just change their name to strawberries? We all call them that. It happened without us even having a meeting or anything.

    For me the game felt great till I got to mistlands. That area broke all the fun in the game. The mist is so thick you can't see anything. Special lanterns that increase sight range don't help that much. In the end I installed a mod that removes fog. Travelling became much easier, but mistlands turned out to be empty and boring. Fog was there to cover up unfinished biome.

    Fun watching your recap of your experiences. Thanks! Yep, Valheim can be sneaky spicy as you progress. Would love to see how you reacted to the next 3 biomes. Skall!

    Past the initial learning hurdle, the game is actually VERY easy. Give it 30-50 hours and you should be doing fine. Little challenge to be had past that if you follow the game's rules.
