Great show. The reason “The Space Eaters” seems livecraftian is because Lovecraft wrote the story. Same name even😊

I've read The Moving Finger (it was in Nightmares & Dreamscapes) and that episode is a very faithful adaption of the short story. It's one of my favorite episodes too. The Space Eaters is so Lovecraftian because Frank Bellknap Long *was* one of Lovecraft's friends (and was published back in 1928). From what I recall, the episode was another good adaption of the source material.

my intro into horror goes, are afraid to the dark then tales from the crypt. since then, i been collection as many horror anthology series as i can get, so far i got tales from the dark side, the night gallery, tales from the crypt, are you afraid of the dark and creepshow

Love so many episodes, but Undertaking Parlor is such a throwback to being a kids in the 90s , and the set up and execution are perfection

I absolutely LOVE the 80s TZ & wish more ppl would give it props. Invisible Man blew me away when I first saw it. A couple others I love that no one ever mentions is the one where the protagonist is a drunk businessman that dies in a drunken car crash & then is doomed to spend the afterlife in a bar that he purchased after he died. Also the one where the English language gradually changes & only one man seems to notice to the point that every existing word has a new meaning & he has to relearn how to speak

Re: the blindness. They might’ve found the equating of blindness itself with selfishness grotesque. There’s no need to make blind people feel worse about lacking a sense the non-blind have. It could be as simple as a sensitivity to that among the showrunning staff.

Brad Dourif has great acting range. From being a psychotic and terrifying killer, to the bumbling slow witted character you feel sorry for, to the good natured, pious man. That last one I described was when he was acting in the Sci-fi series Babylon 5 and trust me... You really feel for his character and he knocks it out of the park with just one episode he was in.

“Yellow” never struck me as horror. I was never really interested in watching the episode like I was others. If I had to pick an episode I’d say “None but the lonely heart” was the best to me.

Imo, the 1959-1964 and 1985-1989 series was the best shows to bear The Twilight Zone name

It's not a bad list, but here's the thing--there are SO SO many great stories from the original comics that never made it to the TV show. If every single one of the original stories had been made into a TV episode, I suspect your list would have looked very different. So here are some of my favorite Tales from the Crypt comic stories that never got a screen version: -How Green Was My Alley. A bigamist's two wives are both into sports--one bowls and the other plays golf. When they each have a tournament in the same city, they learn of each other's existence and get revenge on their mutual husband. -Political Pull. A candidate for mayor kills his rival and is elected unopposed, but his opponent's not giving up so easily. -Taint the Meat--It's the Humanity. During WWII, a butcher gets meat on the black market to circumvent wartime rationing, with tragic results. -Auntie, it's Coal Inside. A youngster hears mysterious voices that get him in trouble with his abusive aunt.
