I was wondering if you had a chance to talk about the difference between the Heating Pump and the PTC System. Going to pick up a Mach E very soon.

ICE has all that waste heat at a much higher temp, so once the engine reaches operating temp it will definitely keep the cabin warm. I agree that you should be able to get noticeable heat quickly in any EV.

I know this is long after this was cut. PTC is a direct heat source, and even heat pump systems have one for the worst situations. The heat pump will move heat, but it was also have a limit on how much. One thing I have heard/read is that the manual start only runs the HVAC, but does not heat the battery. This means that some of the hearing capacity is going to the battery and not the cabin. The solution here is to schedule a departure. This is supposed to heat the battery, then heat the cabin in time to be ready at the set time. I have the 2024 Rally, and I am in Michigan, but not where it gets quite as cold as MN. I will see how it goes with conditioning this winter. ETA: Just got to the video where you figured this out. But I will leave this here as some searching on this issue might find this video. And thanks for digging into this as it will help those of us who follow.

I want to replace the B&O speakers in my Mach e. They're okay but I do notice some deficiencies when listening to my reference tracks. Not looking to ad amps or a sub. I'm really just looking to identify the speaker locations so I can replace them. Can anyone here tell me exactly where the speaker locations are in the B&O 10 speaker setup in my 2023 premium?

I'm sorry but this is horseshit. Ford during the setup process towards the end allows you to set a backup password that will allow the car to start using that password if for some reason the use phone as key feature fails. Had you had completed that instead of skipping over it this would not have been an issue and you wouldn't be on here whining about a non-issue. I have no sympathy for stupidity.

Let's be real here. If you live somewhere that gets to these temperatures there are 110 outlets everywhere. Every house and apartment complex, and pretty much every workplace has powered plugs at every stall. This was in no way a realistic situation. Not using the preheat feature makes no sense. He wasn't giving the "benefit of the doubt". This was intentionally creating the worst, and most unlikely edge case and fully intending to have a bad result. Why he is at all frustrated and surprised by the result is a mystery when that's clearly what he wanted.

I wanted to see what you did to warm it up, and you just talked about another video. You could re-title this as a preview to the next video so you don't waste peoples time watching it.

I've been considering a Mach e here in Canada, but im the winter time not letting the cabin preheat is just asking for trouble even in a gas-powered car. Where i live -40c isnt unheard-of.

Interesting, I drove my 2023 in -30C (-22F) and had no problem but I was plugged into a L2 Charger at both ends, garage at one. One thing I did was concentrated on clearing the glass with the heat and used the seat heater for comfort which I usually have at 1 bar but for that settled in a 2 bars on seat heat.

But looks like Victron haven't nailed that yet on their Smart solar 100/20 yet, so just have to wait.

I bought a 100782 from Canadian Tire. I do not know how to use the chemicals in the tank for more cleaning. I filled the tank with detergent but it is not coming out during pressure washing. Should I do something? I appreciate any help for this.

I just purchased a 2023 Mach E GT. The only speaker functioning is the middle dash speaker. Dealership says that it seems to be a problem with the amplifier. The service manager says Ford wants amplifier replaced. Problem is they have no idea when it will be available. They are trying to set up appointment for up to 6 months! Any ideas on how I should approach this?

Voices and treble dominate. Mid bass is lacking and the front door speakers don’t pull their weight. Jazz and rhythmic music don’t fair as well as they should. I suppose its best for folk music. You can’t compensate with the sub as that just muddies the low end bass rumble.
