I only ran the commands to rewrite the partitions, which was much easier than the hassle of downloading the MiWiFi app and logging in. when I get to the step at 11:00 I get an error message that it is an externally managed environment and it doesn't install.. It gives me three possible solutions, but I am not at home in linux, so don't know how to continue. The 3 options are for: installing a python package system wide, or a non debian package or a non debian application. Can somebody advise?

I have a router model 4A R4AC (international), and there is no file for this model on the OpenWRT website. I googled and found the appropriate file, and I managed to flash it, but it turned out that this file is for another model: 5g does not work and constant failures in operation. I have xiaomi 4a 100m edition with OpenWrt and I set wireless security to WPA3. Strange thing that my iPhone (iOS 17.6.1) can connect to OpenWrt with WPA3 but Ubuntu 24.04.1 on Surface Pro 4 can't. In my case Ubuntu only connects in mixed mode WPA2/WPA3 and always uses WPA2 variant. Do I miss something?

Hi i get "Connection refused" error by FTP [linux and windows]

When I type pip3 install -r requirements.txt I get externally-managed-environment error. I suppose I'm not running the command with said router? My plan was to connect it under another router doing the gateway, do I have to connect the Xiaomi as modem-router?

I'm having trouble downloading the Chinese version of the 4A Gigabit firmware. The download process just keeps loading, and eventually, the site throws an error, preventing the download from completing.

I recently followed your guide and found it very useful. However, I encountered an issue with the Xiaomi Mi Router 4A 100m (R4ACV2). This is the newer version of the router, and there was no link available for it in your guide. Fortunately, I found a link on a Russian website, 4pda, and managed to obtain the firmware for both the global and Chinese versions. I am currently using the Keenetic firmware for the Xiaomi Mi Router 4A R4ACV2, and it is functioning properly. Additionally, I am using the router as a WiFi extender, not through Ethernet, and I am achieving speeds of 200 Mbps, sometimes reaching up to 250 Mbps, but consistently between 150 Mbps and 200 Mbps on speed tests. The R4ACV2 version of the router I think its start from July 2023, and my unit is from January 2024. Note the R4ACV2 has a metal shield on the right side when you open from the back of the router. Nice video, that cable is beefy, i love it. Im pretty new to balanced headphones, i got a fiio m15s and a hiby r4 quite recently (i used a surfans f20 before them). i dont have any expensive headphones yet but i got a pair of Audio Technica msr7b (which has 2 pairs of cables, 3.5mm and 4.4mm) and a pair of kzzs10 pro iems with a nice upgrade cable that has 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm which i can switch between using these little 4 pin plugs. My question is about an older pair of headphones i was given, blackweb? (the speakers had come loose inside both the earcups casings and rattled) they have a 3.5mm jack on each earcup, but the included blackweb cable (with an inline mic) is just a single 3.5mm that plugs in one side, either the left side or the right side and gives audio in both cups. So i think these headphones are for left or right handed situations for when your laptops jack is on the opposite side to your headphone etc. So if i remove the wire that links both earcups through the headband and buy a dual 3.5mm to 4.4mm pentaconn cable (or 2.5mm) they will be balanced? Sorry if this is a stupid question, ive never had to repair or mod headphones before. Thanks.

Hi i just somehow broke my Mi 4A(International Vers). After installation of the OpenWrt i tried to do sysupgrade via LuCi interface by downloading it from OpenWrt page and uploading to the interface. BUT before uploading to LuCi interface i changed the name of the upgrade file i guess it leads me to stuck in "Flashing..." Screen forever. After waiting more than 1 hour i decided to debrick my Router. I successfully do the Debrick steps you have provided but still cant reach the internet. Problem is in the router, system status light flashing blue and network status light is only blue (not flashing) In the users manual there is no information about flashing blue light (only purple flashing and it says "Safe mode". But mine is not purple. Therefore i don't have any internet connection via LAN. (In the Windows settings still says Undefined Network on my Ethernet.) Also i can't visit 192.168.31.1 for the mi panel. What should i do? Is my brand new router going to trash can?

Just finished setting up my wireless access point with your quite easy to follow instructions, was great to find someone who explained it so plainly and easy, whithout not feeling overwheelmed, (this is my first try at openwrt), the devices I connect to the network connect to the internet, but what I'm looking for is to have this network completely bridged, the router has it's own IP segment so devices connected to this router won't see the ones connected to the main one.. is there a way to completely bridge the network? (I'm using this router as an extender) thanks again,
