INSANE morning microjigging session!! (So many species)

INSANE morning microjigging session!! (So many species)
Crystal minnow sinks which means it is good at subsurface attraction of whiting, especially deeper water. Caution, big tailor alert!. Go the stickbaits with assist hooks. In Mandurah, a medium speed retrieve with a slight tip jiggle to create splash - but not jerking and stopping generally. So, medium steady retrieve on the slight popper stickbait. Little splashes on steady retrieve the go.
Amazing advice man! I appreciate that alot. I love to always approach new styles of fishing blind to get a true grasp of the “grind” and seek help afterwards in areas i think i need improvement. This helps alot broski!
smallest sambo ive ever seen lol
Not really going to land biggins from a jetty on pe1 dude…
Hey bro awesome vid you should do more whiting fishing. Where abouts is the last spot 😁
I would love to do more, even tho it was a grind i had alot of fun 🫡 i honestly cant even remember. It was somewhere near the dawesville reserve boat ramp
@@kookfishincheers mate really enjoyed watching this vid
Squids are there buddy. Heaps.
Good to know, i wanted to try a squidtrex vibe but was unsure if it was worth the effort
Ashamed of a Herring? You should be ashamed of saying that!
Mannnn idk i have had my fair share of run throughs with those fish targeting other fish ahahaha. And when i desperately need them for live bait they NEVER want to get hooked up
Another ripper vid🤙, i have the exact same problem with the gopros over heating up here in the Pilbara.
Im pretty sure it might have something to do with recording in superview. Currently looking into the dji action pro 5 as an alternative
Wicked vid mats love it
Cheers man! I tried my hardest to make this an enjoyable one
do you think the ZX would have worked ?
Absolutely. During the whole 6 hour session i lost count of how many whiting i had follow but not commit
You put that much effort in I subscribed 😀
Really appreciate that man thankyou so much 🙏
Hey bro I appreciate the effort you put in. Respect!
Thabkyou so much! Not only fishing effort but honestly i would have to say the editing requires alot more of the total effort. And im still not the best at it 🥲😆
@@kookfishin you're doing a great job bro.
Around the entrance of Murray River is pretty good for whiting and crabs on the flats. Around knee deep from the channel to shallow. A bit too windy
She was very windy that morning but once it hit around 11:00-11:30 the seabreeze came in the way the estuary is situated it ended up really cleaning up the water the further into the afternoon it got
What brand is your sling bag?. I’ve got a heavy backpack and need to get sling bag
Its the tt lures sling bag bro! Not the best quality but it definitely does the job for the price. It was only hurting my back because i packed it so damn full of stuff i didnt need ahahaha
@ righto. Borderline on the TT or Daiwa bag.
@Mikefish232 daiwa is definitely better quality and i loooveee the pockets in the straps but the rod holder on the tt bag is what sold me. If the daiwa one had a rod holder i would absolutely be using that instead
Great vid cob! You got the result, and, hey, I reckon those frustrating days where you work hard for a fish always make the ones you do catch that bit more satisfying 🎣🍻👍
100% man, not too mention a good sized one too! I was over the moon when i finally got one 😆 thankyou so much man 🙏
Not sure if I'm inspired or uninspired to have a crack after watching this.
Use it as motivation to try and do better than i did. I prefer to be told fishing a certain way at a certain spot is underwhelming so when i give it a go and it ends up being great i feel like a pro ahahaha
Haha nice channel name.
Thanks ahahahaha its only truthful
Great vid. I have had success on micro poppers by working it slower with pauses in between. It’s great to see someone documenting there fishing expeditions around the south west.
Thats interesting ive always been told to never stop working the lure because soon as it stops moving they will stop showing interest. Ill have to give it a go with some of my actual micro poppers next time 🔥
I rate small fast attach clips for this type of fishing. Remrmber also the Whiting love prawns so lures like the Sugerpen honey Bee are a go to for many regulars
I like the small clips too i just didnt have any small enough at the time. I usually have a large quantity of them but i use them for my micro jigs and never put them back once im finished with them ahahahaha Im definitely going to do alot more research in regards to more lures to try for next time, thankyou for the recommendations 👍
Try to work it slower and make some stops
Going to try that next time! Ive just always been told to never stop working the lures hey! Thanks for the tips
Met ya at bcf the other week , love the video brother 💯
Cheers broski! Hopefully you enjoyed it and hopefully i wasnt too sour when you met me, its been hectic these last few weeks 😆
nice one enjoying your vids its different to my content ha-ha
Cheers man! Do you do much fishing in your own time? I skate every now and then but just cruising around the skatey coz im not the best
Great vid as ever. Your self-bants talent peaks 💯. Always entertaining!
Thankyou man! That means a lot it really does! I try and be my self as much as i can behind the camera, no point faking it ahahaha
Tides play a huge part with them mat
I would 100% agree. I like to go in blind for the first few sessions so i get a true example of what a bad day might look like and a good day to get a more accurate picture of what to try when it comes to new styles of fishing
I love your vids being someone from Perth🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Yewww cheers dude! Perth is the best 🫡
@@kookfishin on god it is
Persistence mate well done! I reckon I would have lost hope after 500 casts 😅epic fish and edit, so good to watch 🎣🔥🔥 a style of fishing iv wanted to give a crack for ages but know this ain’t easy and it’s a long drive from my neck of the woods to likley luck out 🤣
Cheers jack!!! I really tried to push my self through for the content hey! I was so close to just giving up and 9 times out of 10 i do give up but i just had that gut feeling to keep going ahahahaa Nah that is understandable, its already a trek from where i live so where you live would be even worse ahahaha. Try and go with someone who already knows that area to really give it a proper go and to have a good chance otherwise dont even worry about it 😆
Have you fished the Henderson cliffs before? The spot seems to have some good potential if you go when the conditions are right since theres heaps of reef and shit.
I have before but i havnt been back in ages. I know around this time of year you get awesome little chopper tailor in the late morning but unsure if it still produces like it used to
@kookfishin yeah true, went out this morning and just caught a million butterfish, but hey, cant complain about some free bait
I gotta ask…how much did all that berley cost!?
Quite alot 👀😆
As a Mandurah meth head, I endorse this video.
Sounds good to me! 😁
Hahaha! I'm a Bunbury meth head and I love good fishing stint.
Methandra pumping it hard
Too much colour in those first two lures bro. They'll rarely hit anything with solid colours or highly reflective shit on them.... the mostly clear ones are what you need for whiting.
@@adamimberti6948 i have been told that hey. But ive also been told the opposite 😆 i had purchased 90% of these whiting lures about 2 years ago with the intention of doing it but never did. Still havnt really restocked them ahahaha. My skills are definitely levelling up slowly and i would love to get back down there 🤙 cheers for the info!
@kookfishin I would say lure colour was 99% of your problem. You're doing everything else right, grab a couple of mostly clear lures and do everything else the same and you'll have a much better day.
Been wanting to head to Mandurah for popping too. Interested to see how you go 🤙
Its definitely an interesting area ill tell yah that much 😆 definitely wanting to make a return tho!
Went down there last week and had the same issue mate, they seem to only bite zx lures or blood worms. Spent about 2 hours casting with top water lures and caught 1 the whole time, then switched to the zx and got instant hookups.
sooooo mad i lost my zx, i was resisting the urge to tie it on for a solid 2 hours and when i went to go and look for it and couldn't find it i was so mad ahahahaha. good to know they're a good lure to rely on tho
The surface bite is *very* wind dependent. Too windy or too still and they'll shut down.
You should try around Nairns bird hide area in Coodanup. It will generally always have some good fish kicking around.
very interested in making a return to some better quality spots hey! this was a last minute decision and a random stab in the dark location wise. very happy i still managed some quality fishing tho!
super view is a very good view ive heard an seen its the most popular view, also what handle is it on the stella?
not too sure why i never used to use it! im intrigued to see how future videos will look. only downside is i think super view is also what made my gopro overheat so often. it is a stock handle with a pletry small gourd knob in blue. available on their website pletry.com or on hedgehog studio
welp, i was supposed to make this a private upload that was scheduled for tomorrow mornin. i guess you guys get an early one....
Professional TH-camr!! 😂
Gezzzzz boi that's a huge tailor man well done
100%agreed man as a perth fisho myself gee it gets hard so many donuts 🍩 average about 1 in 3 trips/sessions I might come home with an fish .. keep it up tho man love the channel
Absolutely, and a 1 in 3 ratio is in prime fishing times of the year. Its probably like 1 in 5 during winter (especially if you’re landbased like i am). I like to think that it makes me feel even more grateful to go for big trips to places that are almost a 1 in 1 because places like perth really humble me and make me grind even for a standard fishing session. Thankyou so much man that means a lot, it really does
LOL "Does This Lure Still Catch Fish?!" and started to watch vid, i thinking thats rockingham....
Not wrong buddy not wrong at all 😆
Wicked!
Yerrrpmmm
How good are tassie devils! But honestly, this vid is all about the crocs at the start😂🤜
I was shocked!! Tassie devils most certainly go hard. I would always write them off as an old lure that has gone passed its used by date ahahaha and boy oh boy was i wrong 😂 Cheers broski i thought people would appreciate that lil bit ahahaha
I see that you are putting your lures hooks through the eyelet when travelling to another spot. Don’t do that as it can damage the eyelet itself. You can hook it through the specialised ring just I front of where your reel is or just in the eyelet connector
I am usually very particular about my gear and very very careful. Only people who personally know me would know how careful i am with my fishing gear. I am definitely aware of that problem but i feel like if i am careful enough i do not have to worry about the problems that occur by doing that 🤙 Appreciate the tips tho!
A series of catching every fish in Perth metro would be absolutely sick
Thats already being done by "Light Tackle Angler"
And it was an awesome video too! I would love to give it a try as well in my own style of video (with credit of course)
We got the same drink bottle! She does the trick that's for sure, although mine hasn't started to leak yet. If only we had the same reel lmao!
Hahahahaha i think it might have been a little bit of condensation from freshly pouring some cold water The stellas are amazing but honestly unnecessary with how far technology has come with mid range reels like stradics and things! I just love to collect and i absolutely love the hardcore tackle enthusiast side of fishing as much as actually getting out and fishing hahahaha
@@kookfishin Could you recommend a nice entry level utra light setup? I have heard daiwa has some nice ones. Probs in the 150-250 range cheers legend
Love Pengoes and Shoalwater bay. Seems like a nursery in there for juvenile King George whiting. Bagged out on 30cm whiting regularly. I target the 50cm+ big KG's out wide now.
I think i need to try and make a catch and cook on some of those whiting! Would love to get into some 40-50cm models but unfortunately they are as rare as hens teeth landbased 😆
@kookfishin kayak brother 🤘 and just paddle from sandy hole to the next 👌🍻
Did those ganged hooks have a wire trace also were you throwing the mulies unweighted?
No wire and im pretty sure i had a very small running ball sinker otherwise unweighted would have been fine
@@kookfishin without wire would 20lb fluorocarbon leader be fine
You should try catch every species (from shore) in Perth metro.
I seen light tackle angler do that and it gets me wanting to try as well!
@@kookfishin Please do it would be sick asf.
@@kookfishinyea that would be absolutely wicked
@@kookfishin go for it mate life has left me with not much time to fish at the moment so feel free
I was away with my family for a Holiday in Bali and Missed this Video and now watching. Good to see that 37 thousand people watched it. Your Meant to be a TH-camr.
You’re too kind man seriously that means alot. Still feeling my way around it all and slowly but surely getting up there in the ranks. I just have to stay consistent and always try and learn more between each video when it comes to editing and trying to make videos enjoyable to watch
Excellent Video My Brother.
Big ups man thankyou
Need good ball bearing swivels to stop that twist
Yeah man thats what i usually run with my lures
Couple things - not the greatest colour. There's a red, yellow, green combo that's a cracker. Secondly fish it like a jig with a sharp rise and let it sink down to the bottom. Killer flathead lure
Best bag 👌
Yessir
I'm in Dunsborough and I can relate. Beautiful beaches with no fish. Unless it's Autumn when the are salmon everywhere.
Its so confusing! hahahahaha. But hey it could be ugly beaches and no fish 😆
