Any updated video on Tesla Autopilot? My experience is abominable...speed change with mystery unseen speed limit signs or off-ramp speed limit as the freeway speed...slowdown where concrete transitions to asphalt. Thought Basic Autopilot doesn't auto change the speed other than for TACC. Autopilot is more of a nuisance than an aid. Could be a problem with my 2023 MYLR as I noticed yesterday a blinking max speed at the traffic light with Autopilot disengaged.

@@MikeAmiel Inconsistent speed limit change from 55 to 35 in this particular section of the airport viaduct. Sometimes AP is good and speed stays at 60 (with 5 offset) and 55 speed limit today, but yesterday AP was changing the speed limit from 55 to 35 to 55 to 35 back to 55. And yesterday, late at night, AP recognized the 25 school speed limit...but not today...ignored the 25 school speed limit sign. Why one day AP does this and another day AP does that? Maybe AP is trying to be too smart...or maybe we are too dumb to understand the AI (gremlin) behind the AP.

I can't see any advantage to lane keeping or hands-free driving over regular adaptive cruise control. . With regular adaptive cruise control, I can change lanes without losing ACC. It doesn't care if lanes are poorly marked. Also I don't have phantom braking problems. And if someone pulls in front of me, it doesn't overreact. I may just wait for FSD to be perfected.

I just got my Model Y LR vehicle a couple weeks ago. My first drive home with my vehicle was quite an experience - I did do a small previous test drive. The weirdest unique feeling with the Model Y was using the single pedal driving. Instead of coasting like a gas vehicle when let up on the accel pedal, the model Y always wants to brake and slow down. So I had to cautiously come to a stop behind any vehicles at the stop lights. Did not use my brake pedal one time going home for the first time. Now after 2 weeks of driving, I am quite used to single pedal driving. Plus there so many features and options on a Tesla, and I am still learning some of them. I am retired from Motorla and currently 74 years old. So i have been around Technology all my life. Thanks for your video and take care.

The insurance is insane. I test drove a model 3 and was interested in buying but once I looked into insurance, I decided it wasn’t worth it. All the gas savings goes into paying insurance. I was quoted from $600 per 6 months to almost $900 per 6 months. I have a Jeep Gladiator that only costs about $260 per 6 months. 3 vehicles on my policy right now don’t equal what a new Tesla would for insurance. That is ridiculous. Here is another sad part about Tesla. They don’t give you a charger with the car anymore. The mobile charger is now $230.

    • @MikeAmiel

Yes that’s correct. This is a review of the basic autopilot that comes standard with a Tesla. The $6k upgrade includes navigate on autopilot, auto lane change, auto park, summon, and smart summon. The $15k upgrade includes all of that plus traffic light and stop sign control. (And eventually auto steer on city streets)

I was always under the impression that if you own a Tesla, you're saving a tone of money on gas. So I'm a bit confused. He finished the video by saying his monthly cost is $770. Dollars, and that's on charging, That's a bit much isn't it ? Additionally, I currently own a Hyundai Elantra Sport Weekly, let's say I spend $30 on gas that comes out to a $120 a month. So unless I'm missing something, it's cheaper to fill up the Hyundai, then it is to own a Tesla.
