Hello Jennifer, 1) do you need to turn off the return gate valve (white T knob) to drain by gravity whitout using the drain function or only when using the drain function? 2) Also, do you need to use the rubber expansion plug to block the hole beneath the skimmer basket to drain by gravity?
Hi Louis you don't need to close the white gate valve when using gravity. Water will make its way out of the hose. Please note the backwash hose is best (not a smaller shrinking hose as the water pressure may not be strong enough). Drain to a patio or area that doesn't have plants.

How do you winterize it

When I have done this, alot of debris goes directly into my swimspa. It's awful. How do I avoid this? Thanks

Yes Keith you can do that too but the Drain mode only last 30 minutes so you have to reset it as the swim spa won’t drain that quickly. This method is easier as you can just walk away and check back in a few hours.
Hi, I am about to drain my spa for the first time...What about using the Drain function in the Maintenance Mode on the Control Panel? Isn't that like a built-in sump pump?
How exactly do you balance Alkaline and PH? I was told the only products I needed were the Dazzle bromine tablets, chlorine shock and Mineraluxe Cube. My dealer said the Cube would balance PH and Alkaline but I am getting low readings for my Alkaline now. If that's not what is does can you recommend any products?
Hi Christina! While the Mineraluxe cube does help with hot tub water balance, it does not completely replace the need for TA+, pH+, and pH-. You can buy the products mentioned in the video at our store or online at bonavistapools.com
How often does this need to be done?
Hi Christina! This does not have to be done as often as cleaning your skimmer basket. You can do it when you notice your water isn't 'sparkling' like usual, after a spring with heavy pollen, or after a fall with heavy debris. Hope this helps!
If you use the dazzle bromine tablets, the cube and the oxygen packet do you still have to shock your spa once a week with granulated chlorine?
If you are doing the tablets, cube, and oxygen, you do not need to shock it with granulated chlorine. You may add granulated bromine if you need bromine to increase quickly- but do not use granulated chlorine.
@@bonavistaleisurescapes Okay, The starter kit I received with my spa had bromine tablets, the cube and the granulated chlorine for shock. I am still learning how to properly balance the water and learned about the oxygen packets from your video. Thanks.
