Stan "The Man" Musial (MLB Baseball Sports Documentary)
Stan "The Man" Musial (MLB Baseball Sports Documentary)
After 22 years as a Cardinal, Stan Musial ranked at or near the top of baseball's all-time lists in almost every batting category. The dead-armed Class C pitcher was transformed into a slugging outfielder who topped the .300 mark 17 times and won seven National League batting titles with his famed corkscrew stance and ringing line drives. A three-time MVP, he played in 24 All-Star games. He was nicknamed The Man by Dodgers fans for the havoc he wrought at Ebbets Field and was but one home run shy of capturing the National League Triple Crown in 1948.

Stan 'The Man' Musial is my favorite player of all time!! My parents took me to numerous St. Louis Cardinals games. I've been a rabid baseball fan ever since. Just went to the 2024 MLB All-Star game. There is a book on Stan Musial covering his whole 'Interesting' life. I've adoptede the moniker 'Van the Man' to honor him. Great vidieo. Thanks.

Good lawd seriously!!? Just when you think this guy is amazing with an electric intimidating entrance, a menacing stare that would put doubt in the most elite fighters, the childhood struggles he overcame and now this. May sound silly but I'm not ashamed as a 55 year old Caucasian male that "Poatan" is my favorite UFC fighter of all time! Thank you sir for your inspiration dedication out of this world fighting skills and positive influence you've had on young and old alike!!

In his rookie season, Stengal and the rest of the Yankee management overhyped him and put way too much pressure on him. It's the classic case on how not to handle a phenomenal young player.

Sometimes people go crazy when they lose a family member yes i would be really sad too but you have to learn its part of life just like were born and its a beautiful thing then at end theres a dark death but you shouldn't fear cause theres still light after the dark once someone is born there process of dying has started like even if youre the healthiest person in the world youre still slowly dying cause no one escapes old age and yes it hurts alot losing someone you love especially your kids it hurts more than losing a parent but you cant go crazy and that's why while youre patents are alive you have to learn to support yourself and be on your own and just learn about life cause death is as beautiful as being born you dont have to be scared its ok

I grew up in a small town in Indiana. Not very many black folks live in southern Indiana even now. I remember going with my Dad to ask a guy about making a sign for a business Dad was starting. I remember the sign painter was a big black guy who I'd seen around. He and Dad were friends and I remember the guy smiling and saying to Dad ' your boy sure aren't afraid of black folks Cliff ! I asked Dad what he meant by that and Dad explained about prejudice and how some people didn't like other people who didn't look like them. He explained that racism is basically fear and ignorance. I always will remember that day. That conversation affected the way I approached all people from that day when I was 6 years old.

Musial was a hardcore white supremacist, as in "purify the blood." He distinguished between "black people and n***ers." Heard the rant myself in a living room. Couldn't believe it at the time but it makes sense.

Mickey Mantle was one of those rare people who could be as flawed as he was and still be loved by millions people all over the world. Imagine someone who didn't establish any new records or impossible to reach standards for future players. But somehow was THE guy. The one everyone wanted to know and be like. If he struck out at bat, you felt his frustration. When you see him struggling to even walk, you could sense his courage and wanted to be able to take away his pain. When he was sick and dying, you felt like you were dying a little too. There will never be another Mick.

Back in the late 80’s I found an address for Mr Musial in the back of a Beckett magazine. I was just a kid, but I sent him a card with a short note asking for an autograph. In a couple weeks he sent it back to me, signed. That really meant a lot to me, and I still have that card. He was the epitome of what a great baseball should be.

I’ve always wanted to have that aura that folks like Mr. Mantle had. Him and Mr. Nolan Ryan where who I dreamed of being like. I only knew the strong silent with that grin. I didn’t know of what either one’s private life was really like. Maybe that’s a good thing… if you only know the good a person does, it makes you strive for only that.. the good.
