‘32 Roadster Project Runs and Drives for the First Time!
After a few years of building this car, an unplanned family workday made for some big time progress on my grandfather’s roadster project!
What you see/hear at the end is right before we realized there’s a hole in the engine block.. big time bummer, but I guess that’s what shakedowns are for. Time to get it fixed up and come back stronger!

    Hello! I came across pictures of your Chevelle relatively recently and someone on Reddit pointed me towards this TH-cam Channel. I'm very interested in the wheels (and found the wheel specs you used on your Instagram), but I'm curious what the suspension setup is behind the wheels. I'd like to go with VS-KF wheels for my '70 Chevelle wagon project, but being overseas means USA car parts are hard to get, and I'd hate to build my car around wheels that in the end don't even fit.

      Ral hot rodders build cars with fenders if they want to avoid harassment from the cops in states with fender laws , like California for instance .

    Why add clearance to the front only to lose clearance with the side steps?

    • @craigguttierez5967
      @craigguttierez5967 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clearance is meant for the tires. I take the truck out a bit, but don’t exactly get extreme enough for the steps to matter much

  • @rollingthunder1751

    That's a bad ass ride you got there. I would like to offer two suggestions. First, would be to fuse the power feed wire close to the battery. The wire is unprotected and should there be a short, it would burn. Also, it would be good to make sure your relay pigtail harness has 10 AWG wire where it connects to the black 10 AWG feed wire and purple starter wire (relay 30, 87). Most of those pigtails come with a smaller 12 or 14 AWG and could get hot. You can actually remove the pigtail and go direct to the relay with female spade connectors, though the wire slack is a lil tighter to work with. If you go that route, you'd need yellow connectors for the 10-12 gauge wires and blue for 14-16. Cheers!

    • @craigguttierez5967
      @craigguttierez5967 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really appreciate the compliment and suggestions! I definitely need to make some time to clean up the wiring under the dash, and could up the wire size then, and of course a fuse would be a quick and easy addition to that wire by the battery

    I have the exact same wheel/tire, lift and rub in the same places as you. Pretty cool I found this video. Doing the viper cut for the front fender rub as well. Great how to vid. Did you end up doing any trimming to the back of the front fenders? Cmc? Alignment tweak? Mine also rubs on the back of the driver side. Especially when reversing on turn.

    • @craigguttierez5967
      @craigguttierez5967 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bumper cut is actually the only cutting I had to do. I very rarely rub on the cab mount at full lock, in reverse, if I hit a bump, but it doesn’t happen often enough for me to do anything about it lol

  • @chaoticgood3935
    @chaoticgood3935 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks great! I’m getting ready to do this myself. QUESTION…do your black fenders flap or feel flimsy by cutting 2-3/4in above the bottom bolt?

    • @craigguttierez5967
      @craigguttierez5967 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a bunch! To answer your question, if it’s not too late, or for any others reading this, it may feel very slightly loose, but only if you’re intentionally moving it. I would say far from flimsy or enough to flap
