Just know that Little Willie John sang the song Fever, yet he did not write the song. Otis Blackwell and Eddie Cooley wrote the song FEVER!! I know Eddie Cooley personally. A very good man, kind and full of wisdom. He passed away on his birthday April 15, 2020.

calm down lady...listen to the early songs by James Brown on Federal records..James could croon. Little Willie couldn't sing with the POWER that James sang with. Don't make fun of James dancing and his stage show...if Willie could have had a stage show like James he would have been much bigger. Little Willie John was a bad man, but you must give James his respect.

Research Willie's career he COULD dance and move with the best of them! There's not available video! His voice spoke volumes! He could mesmerize his listeners! The artists of his era would mentioned this (BB King, Joe Tex, Sam and Dave, Johnnie Taylor and even James Brown himself ... )

I've been a fan of soul music for so long (relatively speaking, since I'm only 27 years old) and I only discovered Little Willie John thanks to the spotify algorithm like a year ago, when it suggested me to listen to "I Need Your Love So Bad". Since then, I'm in love with LWJ and I can't stop. It really makes me kinda angry that he is not more world famous for being the legend that he is. No one I know ever heard of him either... Especially here in Germany. But I'm over here fangirling over him and singing my favourite songs of his every day, pining over his voice and his beautiful smile on the photographs... wanting to know everything there is to know about this special artist. Thank you for uploading this! I have ordered the book too and can't wait for it to arrive! What I wouldnt give to have been alive in a time and place where I could have been more in touch with the soul music community, to go to an event where LWJ might have performed.. It would make my life complete

@@feverwilliejohn2453 So nice of you to reply to my comment! Thank you! Wow you are Little Willie Johns son, which one are you? Amazing!! I love that you're (still) actively strengthening his legacy. When I read on his life on wikipedia, I was shocked by how suddenly his life took such a tragic turn and I also felt sick in my stomach sensing the injustice, I thought to myself that Little Willie John couldnt have been guilty. And I dont like how the media makes it look like he is. I feel like through his music one can tell that he was a good soul, I mean he clearly put his heart into his singing, enabling us to feel his heart through listening to his voice. I'm glad that there is a book where I can read all about him. I'll definitely let you know what I think and I would be delighted to have a chat about him and his music with someone who appreciates. I already can't stop talking about him but no one really understands. Where can I sign up for a fanclub? I feel pretty alone here with my love for LWJ. How can we make him more well known? I can't even pick a song of his at the Karaoke Bar!! :( :( Why is there no movie, no documentary, no TV stuff about him... It's just not right

He mentioned that many artists have recorded Fever, But ... "The definitive Version is Little Willie John's" The Little Willie John version is the "ORIGINAL" People copy and imitate things ... but the Original is just that! These are my thoughts! Little Willie John sits up there in Soul Heaven beside Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Clyde McPhatter, Little Jimmy Scott, Frankie Lymon and other legends as one of the greatest voices in American music history. The fact that he only lived 30 years, yet has left such an amazing impression on all who were blessed to hear his angelic voice, is a testament to his greatness as an artist. I am so happy to have been exposed to Little Willie and I play his records all the time, and love all that he sang, Let Them Talk, Talk to Me, Tell it Like it IS, Need Your Love so Bad and so many more! Why did none of them mention Harry Balk? Balk was an early music promoter starting in the mid 50”s in Detroit and eventually became an exec at Motown Records. It was Harry Balk who discovered Little Willie John, signed him to a multi-year management contract and landed him his first record contract with King Records. I hope they at least mention this in their book.

In fact, there is a photo in the book from April 2006. Harry Balk is pictured with Willie's widow, Darlynn, and his sons, Kevin and Keith.
