Adventures sampling Nepal's paragliding sites

Having adventures round some of Nepal sampling out some paragliding site. The weather was not great but we managed to cunningly fill our time. We flew some nice places and met some great people :) We will be back!
First snowboard tour 2018/19 :)

After the huge early season dump of snow in the southern Alps I had to get out and have a look at Piz Chilchalphorn near the San Bernardino pass in Switzerland. The snow fell with quite a bit of south wind so northern aspects had a fair risk of windslab. Not sure how this will affect the snowpack stability in the southern Alps for the rest of the season. Today the cloud helped as the snow on th...
Engagement paragliding over Lake Como.
มุมมอง 6305 ปีที่แล้ว
So this was my proposal! From Bellagio we took the ferry west across lake Como to Cadenabbia. From there we hiked up to1400m just below the summit of Monte Crocione. We set up camp in the dark on the path out of the gusts of the northern Fohen wind. I spent all night hoping the forecast was right and the wind would indeed drop. It did and we took off just behind our camp and landed in Bellagio....
Paragliding off Volcano Mt Etna in Sicily.
มุมมอง 2.1K5 ปีที่แล้ว
A great flight off Mt Etna the Volcano on Sicily. We flew off from about 2900m and landed on the beach almost 20km away. Absolutely fantastic above the clouds in the boundary layer! When we tried to get public transport from Riposto station near our landing the place was dead - no trains, no buses, no taxies! Thank goodness a local could take us back up the mountains for a fee! Launch was trick...

Valle Mesolcina Hike & Fly

Hike & Fly in the Valle Mesolcina, Switzerland. We took the cable car from Lumino to Pizzo di Claro, from which we hiked a couple of hours to the Capanna Brogoldone hat. The next day we too off about 150 further up the mountain and had a great sightseeing tour of the Valle Mesolcina :)

Fisherfield Hike & Fly

A Hike and Fly from Sail Liath on the beautiful An Teallach into the Fisherfield - one of Scotlands most remote group of mountains. A very tiring 14 hour day but worth every minute. The river crossing with bare lags and feet was icy cold!
Trainspotting - Hike n Fly on Rannoch Moor
มุมมอง 5316 ปีที่แล้ว
We made use of a small weather window to do a hike and fly from just east of Rannoch Station across Rannoch Moor to Tulloch Station. We used two Munros for our glides. Our trip was about 36km. Had we not made the train at Tulloch we would have had to reverse our route in darkness! A great day out :) Video photos all by Adrian How.
First experience of wave flying in a sailplane
มุมมอง 2.2K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Waves in the sky can be soared but to a paraglider pilot they are almost mythical as we can't really ever reach them. In a sailplane however, you can. I always wanted to soar wave, so up I went with a sailplane in a tandem. It was amazing!

Garbh Bhienn Climb & Fly
มุมมอง 3487 ปีที่แล้ว
Did not look great for cross country flying so we took the Corrar ferry to Ardgour to climb and fly on Garbh Bhienn. The walk in was relentlessly boggy, the approach to the climb was a really dodgy scramble in much and soaking wet grass. The cliff was dripping wet but no way we were reversing the approach so we chose the easiest route home a severe. The midgies were out in force to help belayin...

buff, which face did you fly ? did you use normal kit or H&F ? how long from the road to summit ? boggy or good ground ? LZ options ?

    • @sebrider5695
      @sebrider5695 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The southern face, both would work. Normal kit. It is quite a long approach, 3 to 4 hours if I remember. Yes can be quite boggy. Landing options abound all with varying degrees of walk out!

30 years ago, I also actively climbed mountains. The sad thing that I often find nowadays is the news about the accident of teenage climbers on the mountain. the response of the authorities has been slow. the end result is almost always fatal to them. the process of determining their location is carried out through sweeping over vast areas of land under the canopy of Indonesia's tropical rainforests. I really hope to help them. This is the reason I wanted to learn to use Parachute Paragliding, more precisely the tandem model. I hope to do an aerial search, help send a small medical team to the nearest point of the troubled climber. Furthermore, they are the ones who carry out the next process on land. The same thing can also be done to send a small team to fight forest fires. One by one the forest fire fighting team can be sent to the location closest to the hotspot in the forest. I hope someone will help with this. currently I live in the mountains with the highest point 3156 M above sea level. thank you Eko please contact me here: adhbaqashwa@@t

WOW what an epic adventure and certainly not the average bivouac! Indeed a realistic portrayal of the life in Kyrgyzstan and its people and what a peaceful way of presenting it with even matching style full music to convey the mood my two talented pilots and friends. No doubt the flying and specifically windy conditions was a great challenge but in respect and honour to the country and its people, the emphasis was in the right spot-True Vol bivouac in my opinion. Well done and respect!!! I really enjoyed the vid and all the best with many happy flights!
