Very pretty.
It always is, but... I did notice a few decorations were missing. Last year they had more but I think they were damaged by heavy rains. It seems they didn't replace them this year. Considering the display is free to view and they only accept donations, I'm guessing they aren't getting enough to cover the costs.
Simple good video bro
Thank you, I might do another more in depth physical comparison video later. Realized a few things about the Q3 after I posted the vid.
Thank you for this lighting test report. Glad to know you take visibility seriously. Looks like you found your V11 charger. You mentioned the risk of a light dying while you are en route on a dark trail. Might it be practical to take a fully-charged spare with you? 08:20 - Camera lanyard?
I need to make a tabletop showing the different lights. The wide flood light is the one that dies quickly. I have 3 spot lights like the one mounted to the helmet, I call it the headlamp in the video. I recorded this video before the new charger arrived the EUC was on like 1 or 2 bars charge. The Pocket camera is too delicate to risk having it in my hand even with a lanyard.
Every exploration is a good exploration. Thx for video. With respect to the weird behaviour of your wheel, after you charge it up, might there be value in doing a full software reset and/or a full re-update of the software?
I've been playing around with all that, just today something new happened, I couldn't connect to the app, had to make a new log in and now when I connect to the wheel it says calibration failed, on top of the old message that it has an error. Going to try getting help from Inmotion again. Kind of glad I didn't drop $2000 on a new wheel under the black friday deal.
wonderful tour!
Thanks, might do it again when I have the free time.
Nice video, I love exploring cemeteries. I did a vid on the Chloride cemetery. Also your gimbal worked great. I love my gimbal too.
Did you post that vid already (I've been forgetting to post vids, lately). This camera is much better for low light than the action cam and once I get the new charger for this EUC I will make a few night ride videos along the back roads.
@@BklynOutdoors yeah the cemetery vid was earlier this year th-cam.com/video/GevIW_1qUak/w-d-xo.html
Another good video, thank you. 12:25 - Tire pressure low?
Maybe, it was low earlier and I had added air, but the wheel really needed a calibration, once I did that it was better. Right now the wheel is almost dead, waiting on a new charger (3rd one so far). And I just realized I have more videos I recorded that I forgot about. Trying to get them edited now. What do you think of the low light image quality compared to the Action camera?
@ I will try to set up a two-video side-by-side viewing system and then compare them. Will report back later.
@@haroldsmith45302 I will make a short video edit of the two vids side by side for members only
@ Cool. You could ask members to vote for their preferred night-time camera system.
Actually, I'm going to have to make a new recording, looks like the Pocket 2 recording was deleted.
Good video, thank you. That is a good white light. Electrified Rider has a bright tail-light mounted to the back of his helmet. He might have a link. 10:28 - Werewolf cub? Just wondering: when you are exploring cemeteries after dusk, have you ever noticed any pushed-up soil around the base of a headstone as though an arm had reached ... oh, never mind.
I have a helmet mounted tail light. Actually, I made a video about the lights I have... shit, did I forget to post that video too? These videos were posted late, btw, I thought I had posted them last week, but they were just sitting there waiting to be posted. I don't explore cemeteries at night. But that does remind me; there is a cemetery for the old Mental Hospital near by, it's just an empty grass field, no tombstones, just a sign saying what it was. I want to get a trail camera and mount it there for a few hours over night to see if it picks up anything weird.
@ I did not mean to imply that you habitually explore graveyards after dark. It was comedic licence. I might have missed your EUC lighting video. The ominously-pushed-up soil phenomenon is more likely to be a thing at the Psychiatric Hospital cemetery. Don't let an undead arm grab you by the leg.
10:28 - Werewolf cub? No but something far more deadly, something called "Not Deer", I was lucky to escape .
@@haroldsmith45302 I would do it if I wasn't afraid of getting arrested for trespassing or running into violent people. If you notice the other videos I made around the abandoned mental hospital, if it's night I don't stop riding.
I posted the Pocket 2 version of that same ride, looks so much better, but it's fixed to my chest so it only shows directly in front.
Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
Dude! you made me very nervous riding against the flow of traffic on 17M! I cant believe how much the old back Playtogs plaza looks. That sports bar/restaurant whatever it is, used to be a Ground Round. Right where the Autozone is where the Burger King used to be, which I see was moved across the street next to the Mcdonalds. That Bagel Shop at 11:40, many years ago in the late 1970's was a pet store, I got a hamster there, that escaped from his cage and found his way into my bedroom wall, his skeleton is probably still in there. Dollar General at 11:55 was a carpet store in the 70's and 80's. That parking lot you rode around in minutes 13, that was the unemployment office, me and my friends would rides bikes there when they were closed. You passed my house at 14:45, it was on the other side of the street. When you crossed the street at 14:00 because of not being able to get over the bump, that bump has ALWAYS been there, we would jump it on our bikes when riding to the unemployment office to ride around their parking lot. I used to walk up that hill you rode up when I was going to Suny Orange. At 28:15 the building that you like, that was a building I had 1 class in, geology, talk about an old school building, lots of mazes and narrow hallways, was hard to find my class and when I did it was something out of the early to mid 1900's. Old chalkboards, actual old school single seat desks. Its funny at 31:25 you talk about parking lots, that school in my day, didnt have enough parking for the students, I was so glad I lived down the hill and could walk to class, because parking was a nightmare. I remember watching people following students to the car to see if they were leaving so they could grab their spot. At 42:15 the pond at Mt. Carmel I used to fish there as a kid.
Change seems to be the theme here. The last 5 years that I have been here has bee gradual change, businesses changing hands and a lot of new developments. BTW, that shoulder I rode on was really wide, the camera makes everything look closer, I was anxious editing the video, but during the ride it was fine. Couple times the camera perspective made it look like I was narrowly missing the curbs, but in reality I had plenty of space.

Thanks for this very interesting exploration of a new-to-us part of Middletown. Your level of control and agility is impressive: lots of tight pirouettes, turning your head to side without changing vehicle direction, almost stopping without stepping off, even though it was a windy day, etc. 👍 Trivia question that is unworthy of an answer: If "bi" means two, and "mono" means one, and if a two-wheeler is a bike, is a one-wheeler a mike? ... or an ike? ... or just a wheel?
Since making that video I stopped calling it a bike and now I just call it "The Wheel" (my motorcycle is now "The Bike") But now that you mention it, I got an idea, since they call it a unicycle, but UNO means one, should I just call it the UNOcycle? Also, definitely going to try and go back there tomorrow and record all the changes since I recorded this video back in March.
@ Maybe some day you will show us more of the rail trail or the trails at Middletown Reservoir Trails; the destination of your first long ride - but only if it won't attract attention from the grumps.
I made a bunch of videos there, if I can salvage them I'll post them. Had a lot of issues with video, audio and memory cards that ruined a bunch of videos.
@ Don't worry if perfection is not possible. Whatever you can salvage will be worth watching. But you might want to shelve that sequence of the talking squirrels; even though it happened, people won't believe it.
@haroldsmith45302 Trying to get a few more vids out; the editing is time consuming and free time is harder to come by.
"But that's bullsh!t" LOL you made me laugh. Great video. My first thought is it must be cold and then you said how cold it was.
That was recorded in March of this year, forgot to caption that in the video, only edited it today after I found the "lost" audio file. After watching it I realized how much that area has changed since then. Might go tomorrow and record an update video to that area.
Love the asylum. Need more.
I wish I could go inside, but I won't risk it.
Good video, thank you, Bklyn. The abandoned insane asylum is indeed an interesting location. Each of the buildings has more architectural character than modern construction does. I hope your town saves them and can find a developer who will convert them into housing or shops etc. It would be an interesting neighbourhood in which to live. Watch out for broken glass and other sharps in the road trash around the asylum. Patching a punctured EUC tire requires disassembly and reassembly of the EUC and is a colossal, time-consuming PITA. It would be great if you were to post an itemized list of the riding equipment and accessories that you after field testing have found to be best for your purposes. I.E. brand and exact model, etc. Essentially you would be doing practical product research on behalf of your viewers and they could piggyback on your experiences. Some other EUC videographers do that. Perhaps the equipment list, if you choose to create one, could be posted in your paid-members-only section. At 05:30 approximately I thought I saw a pale face and two hands pressed against an upper window of the abandoned asylum. The mouth of the person - if it was a person - was open in a scream. 😱
A lot of the buildings that were closed off have been purchased and renovated, seems like part of a new school they made. The mental hospital seems to be one of only a few buildings that haven't been bought up, yet. I try my best to be aware of what's on the ground, to avoid potential problems, I cut out a part in the video, talking about the pine needles on the ground and how after a rain it could be really slippery... I talk a lot in these videos but I also cut out a lot from the final edit since half the time the stuff I am talking about isn't interesting to most people. Most of my gear I have is "no name" cheap amazon stuff that sells out and is gone for good. It's always a gamble, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's crap. Good thing is they have a good return policy.
yeooo keep it up man!!
Thank you for the encouragement
Very nice video, pretty music.
Thanks, that's the end of the fall colors, though. It's just ugly, depressing, grey until the first major snowfall, at least.
15:06 on the right is Kowalonek’s Kielbasy shop. Some of the best kielbasa in the state. I stop by here every time I am in Shenandoah!
Wish I had stopped there when I had the chance; sadly, the reasons I had for visiting the area are no longer available. It would be a very long road trip for me now.
Great video and excellent narration. Thank you, Bklyn. Other EUC videographers have described sudden onset of slightly-strange tire sensations, quickly followed by a flat and a crash. In some cases the rim got damaged too. If a year has passed since your last tire check, I agree you should definitely check your tire pressure before next ride. The "deer" you thought you saw on the grounds of the insane asylum that night (Halloween night) were probably shape-shifting goblins. Herbivorous ones. Probably. 😈
I'm terrible when it comes to maintenance, I always forget to do the basic things. Hopefully, I remember tomorrow.
Very pretty scenery as always.
@@wje2 Sadly all the leaves are gone already. It's going to be barren and gloomy looking up there for a while, but I am looking forward to when it starts snowing.
This makes me not want to buy an inmotion, especially if they can remotely lock it out.
@@Jeremybaland I'm not sure but it might be the case with all these wheels, it's built into their system, if it detects a fault it shuts down to avoid potential injury. The real hassle is getting them to unlock it.
@@BklynOutdoors That makes sense with all the liability on the companies these days.
@@Jeremybaland Supposedly, Inmotion has a better track record for reliability than the other EUC companies, but IDK personally, since this is the only one I own.
Great video and being honest about the good rides and the not so good rides. Sort of a pioneer where machine vs. man and the commutations you have with then, or not have with them. Must admit I have never seen anyone riding here in western NY. Rochester area.
@@iworkout6912 I haven't seen anyone else riding one of these here, either. I know in NYC they have groups of riders but outside the 5 boroughs I haven't seen anything. Electric scooters and ebikes are becoming popular up up here but no EUCs. Seems like I am the only one, so far.
That is excellent news, Bklyn. Hoping your future includes vast numbers of great rides on that wheel. ... Exploring the abandoned insane asylum on Halloween. What could possibly go wrong? Ha ha!
If it wasn't considered trespassing I would absolutely want to go inside and explore it, but besides the risks of falling through floors, possible dangerous people and not having any friends to help out, I wouldn't want to risk arrest for trespassing.

Looks very pretty up there.
For now; in another 2 weeks or so it will be grey, gloomy and devoid of color... not my favorite time of year.
Nice video and really nice headlights
They do work well, and this camera makes low light look really good, too.
Good video, thank you. The audio on this one was good. Previous one had a strange tapping noise, maybe a loose cable or a webbing end flapping against something. Anyway it is gone now. Is that the new headlight you purchased a few weeks ago?
Actually the audio improvement is from the camera, I'm using the DJI Pocket 2 which is much better for low light than the OSMO Action (which I used in the previous video), the bonus seems to be the sound quality, the Action camera was picking up a lot of weird distortion which I had to lower the volume of in post, the camera seems to handle the audio much better, didn't even have to adjust it. Unfortunately, the bike is too loud to record commentary.
Where you did this
In a local park, Fancher Davidge Park, to be exact
👍
Really nice video
Thanks, glad you liked it
Very pretty. I’m in Pennsylvania so I will post videos soon. Probably in December as I have been posting one a week. Nice camera work,
Looking forward to it. PA is not a place I usually visit, anymore. I recorded the ride simultaneously with both cameras to see which is better, but I can't seem to decide, hoping for more feedback about.
Thank you for the great autumn colors ride-along. I have watched so many of your videos that I recognized the streets and buildings as you were re-entering Middletown. A few months ago you reported that your V-11 had gone on strike. Hope you were eventually able to resuscitate it.
Working on it; apparently I need to make an appointment with a tech to remotely access my wheel, problem is the time difference with China. Hopimg to get it back on soon, before the weather gets too cold.
Drove right past my house! 😀
Really? Hope it looked good on camera
any tutorial?
I'm not a professional, I just played around with the different image editing options that video editing apps have to try and get the effect. I haven't tried it in while, maybe I'll try it again using the new CapCut software.
Great job!
Thanks you.
Nice video, very calming. I always like driving through small towns.
Thanks, I have more coming, this was one long drive that is broken into sections. I also have a motorcycle ride coming up
I've been eyeing this town for a bit. Is it completely desolate? I'm looking for a change; somewhere to move outside of The City.
Nope, it's actually become pretty busy over the last few years, if you want quiet and empty you have to go further north or NorthWest, a lot of people (me included) have moved here from the city, already
Really beautiful scenery. I will be in SEPA next week and will try to get a few vids.
Sadly I missed the peak colors by almost 2 weeks, Winter gets there much sooner than where I am in Middletown
Great job! It's actually Roscoe to Downsville
@@NYGiantsPreservationSociety LOL, I didn't even realize I titled it backwards. Glad you liked it, the next video is going to continue from Downsville to Walton.

I went to SUNY New Paltz from 2004-2008, and remained living there until October of 2009. New Paltz does and always will own a big piece of my heart.
