Majestic Propane Fireplace Pilot Assembly Install
มุมมอง 53K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Step by step instruction for how to replace the pilot assembly on a 500DVBLPSC7 Majestic Direct Vent Propane Fireplace. The old majestic part number that I bought was P/N 80D0007. It appears this has been replaced with another part (20308982) but I can't speak to the exact wire and tube configuration.

    You go into such great detail about how many fastners and where they are... you show the speaker more than the light you say we need a special screwdriver... what special screwdriver... what did you replace??

    So much easier to get at the brake light from the top. The brake light housing pops off pretty easily and the light is held in by 2 screws.

    What special screw driver did you use?

    • @rushtactics1135
      @rushtactics1135 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was able to use a narrow and long phillips screw driver at an angle to get the screw out, but you could also use a right angled phillips screw driver that's shallow enough to tuck in there. Or you could drill a whole in the sheet metal so it lines up with the screw head? Either way, it wasn't a great design...

      I took a vice grip and locked in a philipis head drill bit sideways and removred the three screws easily. I then placed a thin blade between the top of the light and spoiler and cut through the two sided tape to free it up. It came out easily. But before doing all of that, make sure that it is not a bad fuse that's causing the light not to work. Total time was about 10 minutes. Removing and about same time to replace,

    Adding some notes for the common good. This video is a great example when you have the "Signature Control System" ignition type fireplace (his orange "I" plug) versus the more standard, and much cheaper, ignition wire that is a single (often black) wire with a round tube connector. I ordered a cheaper ~$70-90 version without realizing this and had to return it for a more expense "Signature Control System" compatible version which was more like $160. Lesson learned.

    Great video! My fireplace isn’t working and someone told me it’s because of the fire sensor being too far away. I think ordering a new pilot assembly is the way to go. Did you put the fire barrier wherever it was on the old assembly? Secondly, do you know what fire resistant paint is needed to paint the inside of the fireplace?

    • @rushtactics1135
      @rushtactics1135 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jeff, I did use the fire barrier caulk where it was on the old assembly. As far as paint is concerned you can get some high temp spray paint, although I'm not sure I used it when I installed the new pilot assembly.

    I am curious about the pilot light... after the burner is lit... should pilot assembly pilot light turn off or does it remain lit during the entire time the fireplace is burning..? I'm having an issue and am trying to troubleshoot.

      At right around the 2 minute mark, the video shows the fitting that needs to be disconnected from the gas valve assembly. A box wrench should work just fine. Important: Just be sure you close the local gas valve to shut off the gas supply before disconnecting this assembly.
