2024 Mid November Ego Mow: LM2130
Bought this slightly used LM2130 EGO Electric Mower
It does not have Self-Propelled as I heard it causes tire drag when you quickly reverse. It does have the Select Cut and I am using a 7.5AH New Generation EGO Battery. Tried doing double wide stripe but didn’t come out so good.

Is this a review or demonstration of the LM2130 mower? It looks like an interesting model! I'm curious to see how it performs and handles the job, especially for those mid-November clean-ups.
Just a demonstration, it’s light and easy to maneuver. It does lack somewhat lift for leaves, i might have to change the blade to the high-lift that is available.
looking good pro
Thank you
I've found that alternating directions really helps to get em all.
Thanks i’ll try that next time.
Absolutely beautiful lawn and stripes. What kind of grass or grass blend is that??
100% Grand Slam GLD Perennial Ryegrass
That's something someone should have came out with a long time ago, a cordless electric reel mower.
What a wonderful way to create a really thick layer of thatch.
The Sun Joe IS NOT a scarifier it is a “verticutter”. It puts cuts into the surface. The detritus that appears as the Sun Joe passes is the material lifted up by the vertical tynes but that is not dethatching. Grass grows ON TOP of the thatch layer. You can not remove the thatch without removing the lawn. The only way you can actually remove thatch is to scarify the lawn with a rotary mower.
It’s like the Mona Lisa man, it’s perfect!
Really, you needed your dads help for such a small yard?
Just keeping him active no harm plus he enjoyed it. Father & Son project and bonding. :)
Doing this tomorrow. Did you scalp lawn first & then scarify? And for picking up the debris how low of setting on the lawn mower?
Yes I scalped first, i believe HOC was 1.5 inches. And for debris pick up I raised it to 2 inches to create a better vacuum.
Idk but i don't see the sun Joe anywhere in this video.
You’re right this is part two of the over-seeding. Part 1 is Sun Joe 😅
KBG is going to be too shaded by the existing grass. Only chance you've got at getting it to grow is to cut the surrounding grass really low and use some growth regulator on it. Maybe use a manual reel mower to keep it low enough not to shade out the seedlings.
I had a feeling that blade was not tight enough, did you use an extension bar to help put more torque on it after?
Yes you’re correct it was not tight enough, i used more muscle to tighten it up :)
👍👍👍👍👌👌👌
it's a toy dethatcher!
Make yours self propelled bro, and add that switch to make it back lap as well th-cam.com/video/3gEnYcisSt0/w-d-xo.html Check my channel for more to come of how u can make your sunjoe as my ozito cylinder mower is
So for what is the 5g gator blade
Creates an uplift when rotating thus mulching the grass blades better and finer.
What kbg seeds did you use? that is a huge difference in color. I seeded a mix of prg+spf30 kbg + midnight kbg last weekend. Grandslam prg should be here next week or so. Going to seed that too as my seeding was kind of light.
Mazama KBG
How did it do in the summer? Amazing stripes!
Real good but is extra thirsty and requires lots of water.
Why are you mulching and not bagging?
Perennial grass doesn’t create as much thatch as KBG.
I’ve had my Sun Joe for about four years, and I’m still blown away by how much material it pulls out of the lawn. Such an amazing and affordable lawn tool.
That’s some dark rye!!! Nice
Preparing to do this to my parents small fescue sodded lawn that is being invaded by Bermuda. Good to know that scarifier won't rip it up too severely as feared by parents. Gonna over seed with Water saver RTF. Also going to start Fusillade treatments in spring for Bermuda. Good video!!
Thank you
I also have 100% PRG and I plan on overseeing with KBG. Which KBG seed did you choose?
Im seeding Blueberry Kentucky Blue Grass. Really nice color when it develops.
Are those PRG seed head stems? They are usually thicker than the rest of the grass. If so, they will go away eventually.
Great thanks
👍🏼
What did you sharpen that blade with. Do a video on that
The highest cut on this mower is ~2 inches, taking off more than 1/3 is already an issue, and then letting it get that high is the bigger issue, not the mower's fault. Although 40v probably wouldn't have hurt. It was interesting to see what happened on taller grass though, thanks
Do you have issues with this scalping high areas because there is no front roller?
Yes very minimal but it does scalp. It’s good for short grass and my lawn is mostly leveled only a very small section where it looks like it scalps.
Yeah, reel mowers are designed to cut tall grass, what's its lowest HOC?
Lowest Setting: 0.6 in. (15 mm)
How does the battery hold up on this? I currently use a scotts push reel mower and usually cut 2 passes (once vertically and once horizontally) to get the best cut. Was looking to get this but the size being 15 inch has me wondering if it's worth it since my current reel mower is 18 inch. So letting the battery rule out if I wanna buy it or not.
I don't know how to get stripes with my push mower. The roller is not heavy enough. How did yiu manage this. Does the type of grass play a role
Perennial Grass easily stripes.
Zoysia in the back and Bermuda in my front yard; I just ordered this mower. Nice video and the stripes are looking good.
Watching grass being cut is marginally better than watching it grow or paint dry.
【from Hipa】The best parts for your equipments,do you like to test it?
You've got nice grass too dude. That helps a lot!
Thanks :)
Edge a lawn that is overgrown! Not one that is in great shape?
Which hoc?
3”
How do you like the Sun Joe ? I want to try before leaping into expensive reel mower.
Thats exactly why i bought it.. it has a nice clean cut but you have to go over the lawn a few times to achieve that. Would not recommend for large lawn.
9:11 the best part
😹
【from HIPA】Would you like to test my parts for your equipment?thank you.
Great video!
Looks like it works great for a small yard.
I have a pretty big yard and use this thing on it and while it doesn't have a big cutting width, the ease of use and how light it is (and honestly how fun it is to use lol) it's not a problem at all. If you have anything over 4000 sq feet or tall grass, you'll probably want to buy an extra battery with it (about $45), but the charge time is quick.
wow it is quiet
Over a year old video without a comment?
?
The best test for this mower is to cut the lowest level possible and see how it performs. It doesn't seem to have much strength.

Thanks for sharing👍
Do you recommend it?
For small lawn yes but not for a large lawn.
