Gear Review: Leashboss Elevated Dog Feeder - 2020

If you are considering an elevated dog feeder, take a look at our review of this camping version from Leashboss. A solution to a non-existing problem, IMHO. How aboug a tying a rope, attach a swiveling carabiner yourself. 🤔 You can use stronger or weaker parts, depending on the size of the dog. I have no confidence on products that don't say how much force they can handle.

    Hello Craig, We live in West Texas where goat heads and stickers and other things get into our own shoes, clothes, etc. They're very painful and hard to get out of everything. I'm wondering if we should get the Polar Trex -- even for summer -- as added protection from getting the stickers and goat heads down inside the boots. We don't want to unintentionally cause even more pain than the way over 100 degrees already dishes out. What is your opinion?????

    What about long term repercussions for sensitive dogs (like my Kai, a 2 1/2 year old Border Collie, Golden, St. Bernard mix)? I've heard that dogs can get very fearful & anxious & generalize this training & become terrified of anything that sounds like a snake- keys in pockets, sprinklers, etc. A big concern is that we use only the tone on an E-collar for recall on walks in our rural SW Colorado property & it works well. He gets excited when we put the collar on. Will he be afraid of using the collar after the shock training?

    My dog Shitsu also had this procedure done. I was stunned to know this happens. He’s very stable but refuses to eat he gets trembles when he’s about to eat. He started eating little but stopped completely so he’s back at vet. We e tried every food even forceful. I’m going to do in the bullet a shake form just chicken n water in there to put protein in his body with a droplet so it’s easier to increase his appetite. He’s been given the appetite med but doesn’t want food still. Please any positive feedback. Please.,,. Her name is Gordis.

    Thank you for such an informative video! I have a question: Is it possible for a dog to begin getting bloat/gastric dilation, but not progress to GDV? If GI symptoms are recognized early and smaller amounts of food (like boiled chicken and rice perhaps) are given, but more frequently, so only a little is eaten each time, and ensuring the dog is still drinking adequately, I'm wondering if a dog who seems to just be having an "upset stomach", but could possibly be starting with actual bloat- if something like this could help prevent it from going into an emergency life-death situation. Or once bloat and gastric dilation begins, does it ALWAYS progress to GDV??

    Really like the metal buckles. Those black plastic ones have a tendency to become brittle, or lose one of the male fingers. Not to mention if your dog gets hold of the harness, he/ she could chew it up. Just the same, thank you so much for demonstrating how to extend and adjust the straps. I can never figure them out. Excellent video. Would love to see you demonstrate which Ruffwear harness with front attachment would best fit an Italian Greyhound. They, and the other sight hounds have an odd body shape. Very deep narrow chest, thin waist, long, thin neck, long body. Italian Greyhounds usually weigh 11-15 lbs, but due to the age and health of my husband and me, and the skittishness of our dog, Twigs, it’s very difficult to walk him. So he weighs 24lbs, 24” girth, 19” waist, 12 neck.[ They are also prone to trachea collapse] I was under the impression harnesses cause a dog to pull, but these Ruffwear people seem to have conquered that problem. Looking forward to getting a harness or two, once I figure out type and size. Great looking product. They appear to be made with something which seems to be fast disappearing- craftsmanship.

    Suggestion, in order not to lose these dog boots, wrap Vetrap or similar flexible self adhering tape around the top inner portion of the boots. This keeps it from sliding off and shifting out of place.

    I like the flagline but a lot of the reviews stated that it doesn't stay put and rides up. Several of the reviewers said they preferred the webmaster. Not sure which I'll get yet. I have a 6 year old English Shepherd with a bad rear leg. She's a very furry beast. She's very well behaved and doesn't require a leash. But we are going on vacation and bringing her and I need to be able to help her in and out of the truck. I'd like to leave it on her even when we aren't using a leash so I want it to be cool because we are going to Florida in 3 weeks. Of the 2 which would you recommend for comfort and a little help in and out of the truck. Also, her chest is 31 1/2 if I compress her fur and she weighs about 65 pounds. Not sure if I should get a medium or large/extra large. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    • @thepawdlife5633
      @thepawdlife5633 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi ambur! Ruffwear does not provide a weight maximum but it would be my opinion that a 100 pound dog would be fine on this system. That being said if he’s crazy and running hard against the system it’s possible he could break off the leash attachment. That being said I would tell you that I find this whole system to be very high-quality. There are not any cheap components on it. So if there’s a system that’s gonna work for a big strong dog this would probably be the number one contender.

    • @thepawdlife5633
      @thepawdlife5633 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And keeping the toenails trimmed short is also very important. I always recommend you break a dog into boots if they have a dewclaw for a little while. Stick to short stuff so they can develop a bit of a callous.
