Hi Tyler, saw Sonia talking about what's on your skin. You have to be careful of too much sun. While it gives a lots of Vitamin D, too much exposure may result in other things for Caucasians. Even though Jamaicans were kissed by the sun 🌞, we Afro-Americans need to be careful of overexposure.

Hi Tyler, I would say the same thing. Even here in Canada I say I don't carry cash when someone begs. Same thing happens to my husband when we go to Jamaica on vacation, he's also same colour as you.

That same thing happen to my husband they ask for cigarettes 🚬🚬🚬 when he tell them he doesn't have any they dont even move the stand. Not until i say something then they understand, 🇦🇺🇯🇲

That woman came in and scanned the room. She knew the other persons would not give her any money. But maybe you would. Don't feel bad. I have had similar encounters in NYC and in Jamaica. I sometimes wonder if there's a $$$ sign on my forehead. I have had so many encounters in Ja that I decided I would take matters in my own hands. Once in Runaway Bay and in Port Maria, while I was at the cashier, a young man passed by with 2 items and told the cashier to put it on my bill. She didn't stop him or ask me anything she kept checking. In the end, I asked her, "How many items did you check?" I didn't care about the long line. I had her recheck the goods because I wasn't going to pay for those items. Sure enough, she did add the 2 items the man had walked out with. There are 2 bad words that are really good words to use in Jamaica..Raaassss Claaattee. Everybody understand them very well. These words kinda put us on the same plane. They can be used to ward off any doubt one may have about my softness or toughness. On the other hand, I have learned how to size up a person who is genuinely in need of help or maybe hungry. Here, I will not hesitate to buy food if I can. I don't give the money,I let the person order, and then I pay. I once stopped at the market in Oracabessa and asked about the price of pumpkin and pineapple. The vendor just doubled the price. I was walking away when she called me back saying that she wanted the sale, so she'll give it to me for less. I said, "No, I can't do that,I would be robbing you," I know there are some people who may have fallen on hard times, but for the most part, people are overdoing it. They just seem to think that anyone who looks like he/she is coming from a foreign country has a lot of money to share with them, It is such a turn off.

Tyler please do not fedl badly for not condoning the begging that is at an epidemic proportions in Jamaica. Ambulance: wa wa wa wA which is not only embarrassing but down right unacceptable for our Jamaican society. It seems as if they begs in their sleep as the words just comes out automatically as if they are entitled for others monies. This is Not a good look as it brings donwn the charm of Jamaica in a negative way. My daughter's first trip to Jamaica with her friends and their impressions were " gosh, they love to beg" Do not feel bad for not giving when they asks, and while I do say that, It does not mean you cannot give to a person if you see that they might be in need, I do, and do so gladly and wished there is more that I could do however, but I do not encouraged the gifting to those who have lost their pride and choose to beg. NO WAY! Big up Wifee and the children❤❤❤❤❤
