Hey Tim. It’s Armand. Replaying this in tempo is hard lol
What happened to the audio here?
Very windy day plus old school digital camera
@@timbrandtI’m not getting any audio at all.
I used to be able to hear it, I’ve been watching this for years lol. Thanks for this upload by the way. I love it!
@@nolanrussell518 I guess TH-cam removed it
That tenor visual at the end of the intro is still cool
7:07 that roll 🔥
has it really been 12 years
Whoa whoa whoa. Take a step back here. It was an effect and we chose baritones and euphoniums for the choice in tonal quality and how the two sounds blended well together. Before this, we were experimenting with mellophones over baritones.
I thought it was a really good and faithful arrangement.
this arrangement completly butchered an amazing orchestral work. Can you people imagine what prokofiev would say if he witnessed this? Disgusting.
Basses!!! Where are they?
@TLOZMT guy with the p hat. he's center snare for bdb for 2011
This really exemplified low brass dominance in everything over high brass. The high brass was dying to play a low brass and the only thing they could handle was a baritone.
@TheSyncopator That's funny because they won percussion that year.
@thsma2009 I think that it has alot more to do with the height of the drum relative to the body...
@thsma2009 Are you talking about the taps or the accents (or both)? Some center snares tend to overplay - not saying it's right or wrong, but guys on the outside? Big no-no.
could you please tell me the name of this beautiful song?
Sounds like a symphonic band on the field. Amazing sound.
@johnpaddie Are you saying that because there was none?
best show besides spartacus
how was drum captain tht year? could u point him out
WHAT A DREAM LIKE TRANSITION FROM 0:20-26 breath taking

@dciguy01 should have won HANDS DOWN
That body movement was intense!
@jazzman3071 that, and crown. I listened to crown's 2007 show, early this year (around marching band time so like 7 months ago on the bus, I had it on my ipod and I thought it was cool) and I heard their drumline and i was like, shit. fuckin ram notes AND be musical about it
@kittykat540 Woodland Park HS's director marched Phantom, so they do the wedge in their shows occasionally. It's quite fun.
its our hype WOOT!!!!!
Isn't this 2008
Seriously. Fuckin' blue balls.
aw another place another time my first show ever
That was....massive. Go CAVIES! and SVG!!
good job you guys are the best in the district AND ALL OF CALIFORNIA
Very nice rolls at 0:55.
hahaha it's ok, I learned it four months ago
center awareness!
TIGHT
MMM! Listen to those snares at 2:38- 2:42! And then the whole rest of the drum break.... God, phantom blows me away.
Not bad. If the only the music wasn't so easy...
Not always. When you are backfield, behind the band, you must be slightly ahead of the major, if your sound is to line up at the front sideline. Furthermore, if the line listens to the band, they would be playing with a delayed sound, and be very late. We dut through this, so everyone is on the beat and not listening tot the band. It's mostly so our feet are in time with the major, and not the sound that is being heard.
y do u guys duht the whole time and not 4 beats before u come in?
I'm not sure when exactly they switched to all euphs but they have marched all euphs for a very long time. The exceptions being in 2007, they did have a small group of baritones and in 2006 for Ava Maria, the trumpets switched to baritones and played them up until the pit had their feature, at which point the switched back.
does anyone have the music for the solo? starting at 00:16
nah.. Phantom are beasts.. they all are.. lol
good job guys glad you won you deserved it -sausug band
I really dig that ghost sticking.
Armand who filmed this
yea tenors :D
yeah im from bdb and brandon and i were wearing our hats tilted while warming up and we got yelled at..."stop wearing your hat like a effing tool"
It's all good man I know who he is and he knows who I am ..its an inside joke
Great Drumming the only thing that I did not like is the dude in the snare line wearing is hat like a tool
