I actually had the PS2 version when I was a kid, and I was OBSESSED with it! Sadly, it was far too difficult and my parents had to help me complete a lot of levels. I never actually got to finish the game since my disk broke, and along with It, my heart. 💔

This is my absolutely favorite SpongeBob game (besides the PC version of Battle for Bikini Bottom). I first got it secondhand from Gamestop shortly after my 18th birthday back in 2013 for the Wii, and I wasted so many fun hours on it. I even got it for the ps2 months later as well. It's such a fun game and it's a shame hardly anyone talks about it, from what I've seen.

I played the PC version as a kid, though I remember it still being called "Creature From The Krusty Krab" rather than "Nighty Nightmare". A have nothing else to say.

Kinda dumb that this game won't let you progress, until you collect some item or items.

This episode is clearly a loose adaptation of the Season 1 episode "Sleepy Time", especially the parts where Spongebob is driving and Plankton is basically a kaiju that can shoot lasers from his eyes and is destroying Bikini Bottom. Though this game does remind me a lot of the game Psychonauts, another platformer involving a character going through mindscapes.

To be fair the fruit stacking was already featured in Battle for Bikini Bottom which most people playing this had already played but still

I played the GBA Version of the game a lot of people seem to not know. Was one of my first games to ever play and introduced me to pain and suffering, because holy damn was it hard - especially the plankton parts i always failed so i convinced my brother to do them just as i did with arena battles in pokemon emerald. xD To this day i sometimes play this and some other spongebob GBA titles: the movie one (i remember the cool cover with the explosion in the background) and battle for bikini bottom as my "ol' reliable" games. Also the arcade games from this game are fun, some even in multiplayer. :3

You do know if you upgrade their normal attacks, Spongebob and Patrick can reflect projectiles right? The spit, the missiles. Any projectile.

The Xbox version has most of the same levels and models, but the controls were much more fluent. It's as if the PlayStation version was ported from the Xbox with little fine tuning. Either that or it was improved on Xbox. (Dunno the release timing) The only things I really hated about the game were the driving stages, and the design of the void stages that made you feel like you're about to vomit.

So, I’m really glad I got this on the PS2, since apparently several versions were significantly worse.

To answer the question regarding using a recording of Plankton's VA: Basically recycling material is fought against by the union so that people who do a good job at voice acting don't work themselves out of a job. So if any new dialogue gets recorded for the game, it's all gotta be fresh.

This is Probably the Most "Original" Game

I had all of those! The creature from the krusty krab one was too weird for me as a kid. My cousins and I loved lights camera pants. The movie game was pretty good. And battle for bikini bottom. I preferred the original over the remake.

Had the gameboy advanced one when i was younger, in fact i probably still have it. I dont think i ever finished it cause it was difficult for a child to do but i remember the racing game part the most cause i just replayed that every time. I remember when i used to go to my mom's work there was a guy next to her cubical that would play it with me when we were at lunch and we only ever got to the second level so even for an adult in their mid 20's to early 30's it was hard.
