I have an old office phone and its remote, 2nd cordless unit with numbers still in its 1-touch dialing ready to go as well as compatible headset for the phone here as well.... Nice to drop a piece of equipment as well - no longer would I need my old digital answering machine.... ..... Am going to disconnect the phone service delivery line in the landline breakout box on-site to back-feed this or another (VoIP?) service through the home. 🧮 Is 2 factor authentication phone number/ code texting supported by MagicJack? If not, what other (VoIP?) service(s) is/are suggested?😂

I'm trying to figure out how these phones are improving upon your MagicJack experience. I know there is a MJ App-only subscription option, which uses your smartphone. Is this what you are referencing? I just bought a MJ and a landline phone and await their delivery (probably be a few days to a week). So, using a landline phone is the defacto standard while using a MagicJack. And regarding your Google Voice suggestion - Google disabled using a SIP/VOIP setup with a landline phone at the end of 2023. You must pay for a business subscription through Google Voice to be able to use a SIP/VOIP landline phone setup.

These products (obi/poly/hp) if you can get them, are not for the faint of heart. Unlike ata's from grandstream, these have some level of pbx capability built-in in terms of call routing (in and outbound). The admin guide is rather cryptic with a learning curve. However, once configured, they work great for years. Haven't touch ours in over 5 years. Also, these are compatible with standard sip providers. You do not need to use google voice.

They don't mention that the 911 fee is on top of all the other costs which is something like $6 to $60 a year depending where you live. It is a surprise email you receive after registration. Still a good deal with Ooma being second least expensive.

You're a truly great teacher! Many--if not most--creators of instructional videos rush through their demonstrations so fast, the information can't really sink in. In the past, I've actually reduced the playback speed to 25 or 50 percent, just so my brain could keep up! But I don't bother with that anymore. If I come across a creator who's talking a mile a minute, I just move on. Right from the start of your first video about Magicjack, you had me hooked. And because of this followup video, I'll be ordering one today. THANKS!

It works but i wish they would learn how to count money. My thing was paid 5 yrs., then after 1 yr. they demanded payment again, so i did, now they say i am paid up 5 yrs.! Trick is not to trust them, don't pay in advance.

I have had MJ for around 10 years and have ne plans to leave. I usually wait until they have a sale going on and buy 2-3 years at a time. I am currently paid up through 2026. Call quality is terrific and the dial tone is always there.

Had it 4 years. Now I cant renew cause their site tells me my Visa card is no good, it works everywhere else. Cant phone em either, they dont answer!

lol draytek is no off brand its a professional brand. nobody knows it because no private person uses VPN etc.. Thats the reason is not known in the private sector. In the office sector Draytek is wide represented.

I have a Panasonic Link2Cell cordless phone system and it works pretty well. Like you, I have an easier time talking on a regular handset than I do on the actual phone(Samsung Galaxy). It's almost like having the advantages of a cell phone and a landline at the same time.

How are users assigned a number if they don't need to port their number?

I used Magic Jack for over 15 years. Then my wife forced me to get a cell phone. Now I am kicking my 304 cheater wife out, and going back to Magic Jack. Magic jack was 100% reliable...way better than any 304 bi**h.

WARNING do not buy MagicJack my phone number was disabled somehow by MagicJack it no longer works. Payed for long term service to save money they will not even refund me for the time left on my service even after loosing my phone number. I use this number for work MagicJack it work poorly and I am still paying for service they lost! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!

Thank you for this clear and concise video MJ tutorial. I have been doing my own research, but decided to check out TH-cam to see if people are still using it. It's funny that you mentioned that your kids removed the adapter plug. When we had Magic Jack a long time ago, my boys did the same thing. They needed an adapter so they took it and we didn't have phone for awhile. We we wondering why the phone was so quiet .. lol... I never understood that "away voice mail message" so I am glad you cleared that up. We are getting a new one today! Certainly appreciate the time you took to put this together for us!

You need to be honest with your viewers/or subscibers regarding MJ, it has issues or problems. If you call MJ customer service before you activate service, you can speak with live rep that will answer your questions (if you ask right one but it lack a few importance details) but once you activate the service and have issues/problems or even billing you will be on hold forever then call drops or refer you to on-line tech support that lack answers to all issues/problems. Hey I am on day 2 service, after mult issues installing got assigned number, then install app on my smartphone but it kept dropping calls within a minute, also problems deleting voicemail then I uninstall the app but it still appears on MJ on-line account with my smartphone info. Few other issues within the activation process that need to corrected in my account requires a customer service rep.

Excellent video! Wondering - I'm wanting to get rid of my cell only because of the radiation from it. This magic jack and cordless phone - do they give off the radiation as well. Just wondering if I'd be gaining anything in that regard by switching to magic jack from cell phone? I like that I could take the magic jack when traveling and plug into my laptop. I suppose the the magic jack can be tracked as well as a cell phone? Just don't like all this potential surveillance out there.

I thought it was about unboxing and rivew of Magic Jack home, but more the half of the video is about your life, credit card,, home phone service that you have and what your likes and dislikes other things in life. Don't know if there is a better alternative but this jack[ass] sucks and sucks BIGLY. And don't expect tech support to help you - it's a premium feature. Even the most hated company in the US - comcast - did not come up with this invention!
