Bradshaw deserves a lot more recognition than he gets.
i doubt people understand what shame and guilt really are, and it is very easily confusing because there isn't enough bravery amongst people nowadays...

God bless this man
I can't explain why life starts out so well & then gets DAMAGED so badly. I just have to accept that Divinity has a reason to make humans so STRANGE! 😮
Why is he speaking like a motivational speaker tho like excitingly
What type of country rewards single parents with cash handouuts, providing the guy is nowhere to be seen. One of the factors that caused Rome to fall was internal corruption.

Some Healing Tools, Tips or Tricks would have been appreciated.
The stigma attached to shame can feel like condemnation and it can lead to feelings of self bewitchment but you’re in blessings; just feel the feeling of bewitchment, shame or guilt if so is true and move on! Awesome sermon.
Some biblical untruths here. God says "If you spare the rod you Spoil the child." To be spoiled means that they become rotten fruit when grown. Damaged. This doesn't mean you lash out at the first offense over something minor. They should have fair warning and clear requirements for expected behavior. If they repeat, they get the rod or the smack on the rear and sent to their room or grounded whatever. Yanking by the collar or shirt in public if they defy you isn't abuse. This rule should apply equally to Girls as to Boys. No little babyfied "princess" brats, which is usually how these girls turn out. You also explain in appropriate age-related terms the reason for your rules so they have a clear understanding. Things are so backward in the opposite direction today that entitled disrespectful behavior to adult authority is rampant and they know there are no repercussions because the parents are so afraid and wimpy, especially mothers. It's disgraceful. If you don't have discipline and boundaries for your children, you truly don't love them. Also, discipline without the trust that they are loved unconditionally by you, and that you still respect their individuality, as long as it falls within God's moral code that is Clearly outlined in the Bible, is abuse.
I would like to add that before taking ideas about how to raise children from the Bible, you need to take into account the time and place when these words were written. The Bible does not prohibit, but rather approves, slavery, polygamy, wars of conquest, and animal sacrifice. Whether it is worth relying on this book in raising children today and now-let everyone decide for themselves.
I would like to add that you are right about the time and place being important, therefore it's important for you to understand the Why and Whom God is speaking. These topics are in reference to His Chosen people, the Jews, and have nothing to do with Gentiles. The "slavery" has nothing to do with the American occurrence or viewpoint as this was several thousand years ago in a Different Earth. It's also important to know that slaves had rights ordained to the Hebrews by God and even the choice to stay with their master if they loved him, or be set free. Shocker! You didn't know that did you? Polygamy is not acceptable as outlined to You and in New Testament applications. It was about maintaining the population numbers of the Hebrews back then and nothing more. As for the " slaughter and war" you are ill-informed about, this was to rid the land of Israel of the demonic nephilim races so that the only people He assigned it to, His chosen, would take possession of their land. And they are still defending it today. My assessment of how children should be disciplined still stands, because the One who created us calls the shots and He knows best.
@deborahcarder4270 Let's skip all the mental exercises about acceptable forms of slavery, where once every seven years a slave was given a choice: to remain a slave or go to the desert and die. I have a theological education and have been part of the church for 19 years of my life. Polygamy is not condemned anywhere in the Bible. There is no polygamy in the New Testament, because it was written by citizens of the Roman Empire, where polygamy was forbidden. Not because polygamy was forbidden by God's covenants. Jews were then only allowed to have romantic relationships. Romantic relationships-from the word "roman", that is, like the Romans. And that meant monogamy. It's fun to read about the demonic races of the Nephalim, whose civilizations had to be destroyed, killing every last baby. That's why I wrote my comment above, so that you can see where your moral compass points. Whether to listen to a person who allows certain types of slavery and infanticide, if God has said so, let everyone decide for himself.

Certain media designed to entertain children with their parents is used as a babysitter for unsupervised children. This due their parents activities to support their drug habits.
In the Metro a free community paper the cosmetic surgery page is to the left with its "wouldn't you like to look like a ski bunny again?" To the right is the Juvenile Defense Attorney's ad with the bullet points, Felony? Assault? Vehicular? Murder? The paper I saw the ads in was out of a rack in Town and Country Mall in Palo Alto. The characterization of the cosmetic surgery ad is stereotyping. My captioning of that ad, the quotation is mine.
Or the "At will clause" hanging over the cubicles in a Corporate Office. People are knotted up with fear too afraid to go to work. An Avenue in Albany, California could become a demolition derby were the shift from fear to anger become manifest in any two or three commuters. The bollards installed to protect patrons at outside tables. I was aghast at how what seemed to be the two minute hate was permanently etched on the faces of commuters.
Thank you for this video it help a lot
What a speaker, i can relate a lot to him i believe i had a pretty similar growing up situation emotionally
Id like to have some mates to join me on the path of recovery
I think the road to healing is a lonely road. Everybody moves at their own pace. Even if you start together, you will arrive at your destination in a different season. My advice is to find someone to whom you can be accountable along the way. And having a group of friends who understand what's going on with you is always great too. Good luck!
The man who changed my paradigm of life
is it possible that I contact you ?

This is very good. In 2024, toxic shame seems to drive the world. We see people practicing radical acts of self NON-acceptance. Parents are confusing children, exposing them to adult themes, manipulating them into being political expressions, many teachers are shaming young white heterosexual males, on an on. The adults are ladening children with toxic shame while stealing their prosperity, their futures (monstrous debt, no investment). In 2024, the times of massive institutional corruption the adults are shifting their responsibilities onto the children, while dis-empowering them... The adults appear to be taking out their sh_t on the children. I hope people wake up and reoriented themselves toward morality, aspirational goals, love, peace. “Whom do you call bad? Those who always want to put others to shame. What is most humane? To spare someone shame. What is the seal of liberation? To no longer be ashamed of oneself.” - Nietzsche
Incredible.

WHAT A TERRIBLE WAY TO LIVE !! YES TELL THAT TO THE GOVERNMENT. AND THE CAPITALISTIC SOCIETY, WHERE ONE CAN MAKE A MISTAKE OR ELSE SALES DECREASE. IMAGINE CAPITALISTIC PEOPLE SAYING: IT'S OK TO MAKE LESS SALE AND LESS MONEY, BECAUSE WE ARE GRACEFUL PEOPLE WHO ALLOW OUR EMPLOYEES TO MAKE MISTAKES.
DISCIPLINE WITH LOVE
THE PROBLEM WITH THIS WORLD IS THAT "ANYONE" HAS A NEGATIVE CONNOTATION WHICH CAN ALSO INVITE PREJUDICE TOO FAST. I WISH ANYONE WAS A GOOD PERSON TOO.
CAPITALISTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS AND EMPLOYERS ALSO NEED TO KNOW THAT PEOPLE ARE ALLOW TO MAKE MISTAKES, YET IT IS CLEAR THE SYSTEM PUSHED THEM NOT TO ALLOW ANY. REVEALING IT IS ACTUALLY CAPITALISM THE PERSONAFICATION OF AN IMMATURE PARENT/OR CARE GIVER I DONT PUT THE BLAME ON BUSINESS OWNERS BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST PUPPETS TO THE SYSTEM'S WORKING "ETHIC"
Couldn’t live this life without men like this. I’ve taken all my most critical values and information from these very rigorously virtuous men. I’ll be forever paying that forward.

It's time people stop saying, they were doing their best. Being physically attacked by a parent at age 3, being used as their personal punching bag, because they are under stress and you happen to be in their presence......is not their best. I can accept that they were doing the only thing they knew to do. Physical violence is never anyone's "best".
I completely understand your point here. My "mother" instilled existential guilt in me from very young, she complained many times about how I had interrupted her promising sports career, she would say it in a tone of poor me, why did I have to get stuck with you, you ruined my life by being born, like she was hard done by and regretted my existence. Is this an example of a parent "doing their best"? She was affectionless and mean-spirited. Giving birth doesnt make one a mother, being a mother does. Only a mother in title, never in deed. Victims of familial abuse are retraumatized by well-meaning therapists who under-estimate the abuse, because it is not in their realm of experience. With particular regards to familial narcissistic scapegoating abuse, this is far more complex than mere physical abuse, not to down-play the impact of physical abuse of course. I would suggest that only a person who has experienced being the family scapegoat and has healed enough to help others is qualified to be a therapist in this field. The odds of being retraumatized in therapy by someone who simply doesnt understand the sinister and complex nature of this kind of abuse is very high. Covert narcissism / malignant narcissism is the kind where the domineering parent chooses a partner that will be their enabler (usually a scapegoat from their own family of origin, when selecting a partner, the narcissist can detect their vulnerability and propensity to be dominated). Covert narcissism is where the abuser has two distinct faces or behavioral modes, one for in public and one for behind closed doors. This kind of narcissist also only has children in order to create living dolls that they can dominate and abuse, who are not afforded their own sovereign rights to their individuality and are only viewed as extensions of the narcissist who has a sense of entitlement to do whatever they like with their children, who "owe them their lives", "if it wasnt for me, you wouldnt even exist". This is a small example of a parent who definitely DID NOT DO THEIR BEST. They were maliciously abusive, knowingly abusive, calculatedly abusive, indulged themselves in the power it afforded them at the very high expense of their childs happiness, sense of self, and life development. Can you imagine the fury one would feel at a clueless therapist trying to find ways to make excuses for the parents behavior, "its not easy being a parent", they most likely were doing their best with what they had or understood at the time" No, not at all, that is completely incorrect and only serves to retraumatize and make one feel more alone and misunderstood.
@@HeartFeltGestureThank you for the courage it took to write this. You're right, she was no mother, just a bitter egg donor. She should have kept her pants zipped up to protect her "sports career." Sorry, but I'm just really mad for the hideous things you had to hear as an innocent little child. Mad and sad. The excuses ignorant inexperienced people make for damaging individuals does indeed retraumatize all over again. Just know that you are special and precious in God's eyes. What He thinks of you is all that matters. Don't forget this!
@@deborahcarder4270 Thank you for your kind understanding words. I know the Divine Spirit knows my pain, He has visited me several times, with His undeniable tangible Presence and and Loving Instruction. He visited me when I was 24, and before I had even realized how bad my childhood had been, He said he Blessed me for my loveless childhood and let me know that He had always been with me. This Graceful acknowledgement planted the seed that I had indeed had a loveless childhood, and instigated my research into familial narcissism to be able to make sense of what I had endured. You are right to say my "mother" should have kept her legs together to protect her sports career. I have cut her out of my life, she is dead to me, I wont be attending her funeral. She will never change or stop her behavior and has no remorse or empathy for what she did. The abuse has stretched far into adulthood with infantilization tactics. My two sisters understand why I have cut her out, and have thanked me for helping them make sense of what they also endured, albeit to a lesser extent.
@@HeartFeltGesture do you think narcissists are 'knowingly abusive'. My Dad has NPD and seemingly is oblivious to the abuse he inflicted on me as a child. He seems to really believe he was a good parent
@@aor3220hey my mother seemed like having dementia all her life, because she never remembered doing anything harmful. Later on, not remembering went into denial. Just know, you’re not alone, your feeling are valid and we don’t imagine facts.
I'm planning on re-recording some of John Bradshaw's lectures to move his messages onto modern audio and video equipment, since they're so much better today than they were when this was recorded in the 1980's. Personally, I think everyone in America would love to hear his powerful teachings that touch our wounded inner child. Like this comment to let me know if that's something that interests you! His work, along with Joseph Campbell's, has really helped me to become a whole person, and I just have to carry it on into the future!!
May Allah Subhannawat'alla Hepls You Insha Allah❤
