Tell me. What year did Blue Bird actually stop building the Wander Lodge in Ft Valley Georgia? And, what year would be the best year built as far as durability, quality and performance? I don’t own one but I’m interested in purchasing one.

Very cool! I've a question if you happen to know - for Blue Birds.. what number is considered the VIN? I have an unregistered 66 and we tried a history search off the body number tag as well as the Dodge chassis serial, but nothing came up. I'm wondering if Blue Bird back then issued a third number (I see yours has a little black tag above the Blue Bird body tag that mine doesn't.. can't make out what it says) that was the VIN or if we simply aren't finding it doing a records search because it wasn't registered in my province before. The fabrics back then came from Westgate. They produced "fireproof" fabrics for the airline industry so the selections were limited. In later years, engineering approved fire "retardant" fabrics and we had a huge selection at that point.

i did not drive the pin out because we may need to send the high to someone to get them made,if they have the hinge in hand it will help with getting the screw holes in place,hopefully.

We used to have a 1978 wanderlodge fc 33. My dad bought it because it was actually a quality rig and didn't get blown around every time a semi truck flew by. Funny thing is dad had owned 2 winnebagos from the late 70's before the bird and they were pretty much rattling themselves apart. These weren't cheap winnebagos either lol
