At Home Date With a Baby | Paint With a Sip
I really have been wanting to get started with making sourdough, but I’ve been a little bit nervous about the process. In my mind I thought it was a lot of hands-on work but you really made it look easy. I’m going to get my hands on a sourdough starter. I would love for you to make a video showing me how to make one.
It really is a waiting game when it comes to making sourdough! I will be happy to make a video showing you how to make a starter from scratch it will take a few weeks but I will start it after Thanksgiving :)
I have been curious about azure standard and I’ve been afraid to order. Thanks for your video.
I have still only placed the one order but as soon as I am out of wheat I will definitely be placing another order
4 TBS cinnamon 2 tsp ground ginger 1 tsp ground nutmeg 1 tsp allspice 1 tsp ground clove
Wow. Looking forward to trying this. ❤❤❤
It’s been so long since we have tried this! Thanks for the comment it gave me the reminder I needed to try it again!
@@ZachandAllison i quit coffee and Caffeine a month ago. I drink chikory now, which i love, but looking around for more choises to help me keep away from coffee. Still get cravings for caffeine. Every substitute that may enrich my life is greatly appreciated. I've already ordered dates coffee. Really looking forward to it.
I hope you find yourself to like it! I stopped drinking coffee first thing in the morning and try to only drink it on the weekends. I find myself wanting a hot drink from time to time tho! Have you tried dandelion tea? I don’t personally love it but for some it satisfies that craving for coffee
@@ZachandAllison I have not tried dandelion tea. Wanting to try dandelion root coffee but it's so expensive. I'll take a look at dandelion tea! Roiboss tea is great. Still craving the green tea and matcha more tho. So definitely still a caffeine junkie 😁
I have never had Rooboss tea I will have to look into that and try it too! Thanks for the recommendation
Why do you talk like that?
Keep on scrolling-
?
Azure is monkey business now. Not good anymore
Over shake, and youll get butter
Yes for sure ! Homemade butter is the best tho!
Not disrespect to you but that doesn’t even look close to pizza dough. Would it be very sour tasting as well?
So it is a very thin crust. It definitely doesn’t compare to what most people think of pizza crust but it’s an easy way to use and not waste discard. We really enjoy the sour taste and I don’t personally find it too sour.
I visited your TH-cam channel and I saw that your content is so good. But there are lots of workspaces. If you give me a chance, I will grow your channel (100%) and active viewers and new viewers.
Thanks but this is just a hobby and something I do for fun. If my channel grows organically that’s great
Do ya'll still use it? How is it going?
We used this for a while but I dropped the glass carafe and it shattered and I just never replaced it. I would buy this again. I think for the cost it’s a great machine. You do however get what you pay for
I just found your channel and have been binge watching! 😊
Hi welcome! Let me know if there is anything you would like to see!
The ratio was 1 cup of heavy creme to one tablespoon of vinegar. We really like a sour punch so I added an extra tablespoon of vinegar
How long do you put them in the oven?
45 mins!
Do you have recipes furnished with your Videos & Shorts? I just found you today and I love some of the videos I've watched.
I don’t have recipes that go along with my shorts for every video that I’ve made, but I’m more than happy to make a long video of any recipes that you want :). It’s definitely something I am working on doing more of
I’m going to try that!
It is so good!
Really Awesome I’m trying the same!
Hopefully you love fresh milled flour as much as we do!
What a pro 👏🏼👏🏼
Oh yeah!!! 🙌🙌🙌
How did you find this out? Lol
I wonder the same thing lol 😂
I tap each bottom to detach the membrane thingy from the shell & it works smoothly 😁 I'm going to try this tho lol looks fun
lol I hate peeling boiled eggs so at least this makes it a little bit more interesting 😂
Uh, ok
🤷🏽♀️
😂😂😂
But would eat that egg now lol
Not the best method if your peeling eggs for others but if your peeling them for yourself why not have some fun
Amazing
😃
Really? I wanna try this.
You should! Sometimes it’s fun to do things differently
She keep s watching him for a reaction to approve her input... She should work on that because there are major issues being shown here
lol thanks for your analysis. 😂 she tends to ramble and she is aware of that and he tends to take longer to process and think about what he says. She is simply just waiting for him to give his input. The only problem we see here is that your analyzing two strangers
I like coming across other TH-camrs that visit the place I live. I Live on Namakagon Lake In Cable Wisconsin. The Lake you were on when you went to Garmisch.
We absolutely loved Cable! It was one of our favorite places we have visited!
I got it and thanks for the instructions... I just want to know how to make my cappuccino with this machine.
Hi! Although I’m not a barista is there something your struggling with. I might be able to help.
I will try it soon!
Hopefully you liked it if you tried it! We have not does this in a long time and need to do it again!

🤷🏽♀️
Those do look good!
They were so good the day I made them but then the next they were really chewy 🤷♀️
Did you add sweetener?
I made it just like my coffee a little sweetener and a dash of cream. it’s been a while since I have made this but when I do I just save a bunch of them and then grind them up and do the same ratio as I do coffee. In my French press I put 3 TBS of ground date seeds
Love it how you showed your failed bread.
I really appreciate that! I learned so much from failing my first time. After that sourdough become really easy for me!
How many seeds did you use for two cups?
Looks really good!
It was so good! Way better than I thought
Yes! More discard recipes, please 😊
I can totally do that! I will work on it this week!
Looks yummy 🤤
It was good I would definitely make it again but I realize that I forgot the coconut oil but it still was good so you probably don’t even need the coconut oil
www.saltandlavender.com/creamy-garlic-pork-chops/
I think the baby wants a piece too 😂😂 def a 10!
He totally does! I can’t wait for the day until he can have dinner with us!
I can see it from here 10
It was so good! Definitely a 10 😊
could I use a pizza stone?
You might be able too but i on the other hand could not use a pizza stone I am sure we both remember how that worked out for me last time. my biggest advice is to use oil. 😂 I mean don’t use oil….
Is the dough hard? Is it easy to slice? I used a sourdough recipe where I added flour and left it rise. It was delicious but so hard to slice
@@fazz4444 I find it pretty easy to cut. It’s similar to a thin crust pizza. I find it softer in the middle and crispier in the outside just depends on how long I bake it. The nice thing since it’s just discard you can experiment with the bake time until you find it to be the texture of your liking. If you don’t bake it long enough it can be gummy. We love discard pizza for a quick easy pizza. I have struggled to find that perfect thicker sourdough pizza crust recipe. I have used this one a few times and so far it’s my favorite sweetphi.com/sourdough-pizza-crust-recipe/
@@ZachandAllison thank you
@@fazz4444 no problem! If you happen to find a recipe you love i would be happy to try to to!
More discard ideas please😊
I will totally make another discard recipe next week! There are so many fun things you can make
Getting the starter started, 😂
It’s with it
My sourdough started became active and bubbly and I got to bake 2 loaves of bread which rose. I fed it after using it but it has been 24 hours and no rise? any idea why?
I would feed it again and make sure the sides of your jar is clean so you can track it. Sometimes we just miss the rise and fall cycle when we are sleeping but you can see on the jar that it did rise. Are there still bubbles? You can also try feeding it with more flour than water. Make it a little thicker than the last time and see if that helps.
@@ZachandAllison there are some bubbles and the sides are clean but still no rise unfortunately
@@asalalmazloum6081 hmm not really sure 🤷♀️. Is it cold in your house? Have you tried putting in the oven with the light on? I had to do this at first before my starter matured. Just don’t forget it’s in there when you preheat your oven
You make it look easy. I'm new to this. Why must you discard? Do you let it sit out while it's feeding. Thank you
Once you get into the swing of things, you’ll realize that it’s easy too! When I was a First getting started, I was pretty, overwhelmed with all of the information out there! The reason you have to discard it because if you don’t, eventually, they’ll be too much acidity which could harm your starter also, you want to discard because it’ll keep it at a more manageable size. If you never discarded, it would take a lot of flour to keep a starter, happy and healthy. After I feed it I let mine sit out on the counter until he gets nice and bubbly,! If I decide, I am not going to bake with it then I put it in the fridge after that. Have you started making a starter yet?
yes I did and thank you so much for replying to me.@@ZachandAllison
I hope you can be successful in your sourdough journey! I know for me it’s been really rewarding! Absolutely we are grateful for your comment too! Happy baking! 😃
Thank you and Ill be watching you for more tips.@@ZachandAllison
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤️ 😃
i love the way you guys approaching this like is a journey and love the positivity
We really appreciate your kindness! We try to be positive most of the time because it’s way more enjoyable than being negative! Thanks again for your kindness ❤️
oh mu god. i loved this so much, im trying to get the courage to start a starter but so much information and have a feeling that my journey will have a lots of fail. so looking forward to yours. i save the scraps for bone broths as well❤
You should totally start it! My first loaf obviously was so horrible but I learned so much! Now I’ve gotten the hang of things and make everything sourdough, pizza crust, sandwich bread, ect. I agree there is so much information that it seems overwhelming! Once you try it you will realize that it’s a lot easier than many people make it seem. Sourdough is also very forgiving! Let me know if you give it a try!
Delicious!!!!!!!
Yeah it’s pretty good
Uuummmmm so good
I agree! So good 😊
I do that all the time tryna be lazy and end up cooking a full meal anyway 😅 looks tastyy! Do you have a recipe?
Right happens all the time! I don’t have exact measurements because I usually just throw things together but here are the basics 2 cans of red beans Kelbasa sausage Shrimp 1 1/2 cup of rice Chicken broth Green bell pepper Red bell pepper A celery stalk A few Garlic gloves A small onion 2 cans Crushed tomatoes 1 can of corn Salt Cajun seasoning measuring to taste Pepper
Timmy has been making a bunch of homemade bread. His focaccia will always be my favorite. He made croissants and I stopped by their house and I asked Grace how they are and she said they were just alright. It needs improvement 😂
We only eat homemade sourdough bread now. I haven’t made sourdough croissants yet but it’s on the list eventually.
